EVANORA’S POV:

Blade.

That was his name, and it was an ironic thing that even with the chaos unfolding right infront of me, a part of me stayed fixated on that.

Somehow, it seemed fitting that that was his name. Afterall, the man seemed to be sharp-edged, reeking of danger and wicked intentions.

Even at the moment, with his teeth bared at his mother and claws digging into the table where he clung so painfully to, as if it held the strings of restraints that stopped him from diving over and ripping into her.

His own mother. And for what? Because of me?

All this because of my presence?

I sunk further into my skin, willing myself to disappear while my heart raced in fear. Not just because of Blade’s anger that rolled down his back in turbulent waves, but mostly because of the murderous glance his mother kept cutting my way.

She looked at me like I was dirt, a pest. Something to be hated and squashed to the ground with no remorse.

That scared me.

“Are you even hearing yourself? You sound pathetic! Are you thinking of how weak you’d look as an Alpha if you take this human as your mate? North Rivermoon would be dragged to ruin. The Sparrow Bloodline would be belittled to a family made of half-baked werewolves. Stop for a damn minute and think, Blade!”

“I think I’ve made my point here. You can raise hell if you wish but I’d not be rejecting Evanora as my mate.” Blade gritted out and made a move to reach out to my hand, probably to leave.

In that moment, their words sank further into me. They referred to me as human. Did I still count as one even? Father had called me a vampire earlier. Maybe the elixir truly hid my scent as one.

I desperately wanted to take Blade’s hands, overcome with hurt from the poison and tension ruling the room, and just eager to leave. Not just leave but run far away from this man and the chaos he promised.

However, his mother’s hard gaze on me froze me to the bones. She tsked in displeasure, then letting a sinister smile crawl up her face.

“Evanora, huh? I’m surprised that you’re not sprinting out of this room in fear. Do you enjoy seeing us fight so much over you? Or are you just clueless not to see that you’re the prey here?”

Before Blade could speak, I found my voice.

“I’m stronger than you think. I’m not afraid of you…or your kind.” I said, willing my voice to sound less pathetic than I felt.

She shook her head. “Foolish little girl. Sticking to bravery when you should be cowering at my feet. You know, it’s forbidden to have a human walk in here. Infact, it’s punishable by ripping out their heart and feeding their corpse to vultures.”

My heart drowned to watery depths, doubling the thudding of my heart. Sincerely, I wanted to pee my pant. I wanted to crawl into a hole and never encounter this scary woman ever again in my life.

“Stop what you’re doing.” Blade stiffened.

“Why?” She cackled. “If she’s so brave and really fit to be Luna, this should mean nothing to her. Has she seen your wolf form? Has she seen how those sharp enormous jaws can tear into human skin? Has she seen your claws and how easily you could snap her frail form into two? Oh, don’t tell me she hasn’t seen the true beast you are, Blade.”

“I have.” I whispered. “I’ve seen exactly what he’s capable of. I watched him tear into a man. And I admit that it was…disturbing but he did it to help me. He might be a beast as you say, but I believe that he’s a good person.”

Blade’s mum let out an over-dramatic gasp, one that conveyed both sarcasm and mocking.“Oh, really? How romantic, right? The sly wolf saved red riding hood. Do you think a human like you could ever be enough for my son? He’s rumored to be quite a beast in bed too. You’re only setting yourself up for disaster if you let him take you as his.”

“Stop it!” Blade growled ferociously, giving off a strong vibration through the room.

“No! Not until one of you comes to your senses! A union between an Alpha of all people, and human could never work! I’ll be calling a counsel meeting soon, and you know what? By the next full moon, you’d be taking that wretched whore, Natalie, as your mate. Even that cheap thing would be a better option than this sac of bones and weakness.”

Blade let out a bitter chuckle, and it sent a cold shiver down my spine.

“I’d love to see you make me. But know that when this leads to chaos, you started it by rejecting my mate - your future Luna.”

That did it.

Her eyes flashed a dangerous golden glint and before I could anticipate it, her hands reached to the fork carefully placed beside her and she threw it precisely my way with the force of a fireball.

I gasped, about to duck from the object whirling towards me. But Blade’s hands swiftly caught the knife, and I watched as the impact slightly tore into his skin.

Yet it didn’t deter him from clenching hard onto it, allowing his blood to seep down the knife before he furiously flung it back in her direction.

My jaw dropped to the ground as the sharp object pierced into the woman’s chest, narrowly missing the significant spot where her heart was. She let out a pained whimper, her eyes staring at her son in true shock.

I was surprised too.

“I swear by the moon goddess, the next time you dare, or even think, of hurting a hair on her head, mother, I will not miss even by an inch.” He whispered out in a cold voice that shook me to my core.

With the shock still hanging in the air, Blade coolly took my hand in his and in that brief second, I realized that his wound had healed.

His cold blue eyes, on meeting mine for the first time in awhile, subtly softened and guilt ebbed into them. I blinked away from his gaze.

My heart drummed. I just wanted to get the hell away from here.

“Thanks for the lovely dinner, mummy dearest.” Blade threw an emotionless smile her way before we both left the room.

The second we exited the mansion, I tore my hand away from his hold like it was on fire. Mountains of emotions threatened to pull me under, ranging from embarrassment, to hurt, to sadness and then, there was anger.

“Eva…”

I spun around to face Blade, eyes glaring harshly at him.

“Was this your plan all along? To drag me down here to be embarrassed? To be insulted? To be attacked by your mother? She fucking threw a fork at me!”

“Hey, Eva, calm down. I didn’t want any of this to happen. It played out differently in my head-”

“How differently, huh? That she’d fall in love with me and we’d skip into the sunset together like in the fairy tales? God, this is so stupid. I’m so stupid for following a complete stranger home.” I mumbled the last bit condescendingly to myself.

“I swear, I thought she’d understand. You’re my mate-”

“And stop calling me that! I’m not your mate. I’m not your bride or whatever. And I sure as hell don’t belong to you or anyone! We’re different and like I said, it’s been a very exhausting week and the last thing I need is to add you to the equation. You’re bad news.”

His eyes darkened and he took a step closer to me, meaning to reach out with his arms, mostly likely to pull me under the spell that his blue eyes always seemed to have.

However, I flinched away from his touch, scowling bitterly. He knew better than to try reaching out again. Instead, he dragged his fingers through his tousled hair in frustration.

“Look, Evanora, I’m sorry. You have every reason not to trust me. But it doesn’t change the fact that we’re fated mates. We belong to each other. I…I’m just new to all of this. You’re the only thing that has made sense in my life in a long while and I’m not ready to lose you this soon.”

I scoffed out a bitter laugh. “It’s a bit too late for that, buddy. Or should I say Blade? Can I have my necklace back now?”

“God, Eva. You’re not listening to me! I’m sorry. My mum fucked up and I couldn’t have seen it coming, but I’m fucking sorry. Why are you making this so difficult? Dammit.”

“Even if I accept this apology, then what? Am I supposed to ignore the fact that you’re a werewolf? I don’t know about you, but that’s not exactly how I imagined my happily ever after.”

His eyes grew cold at my words and he clenched his jaw painfully. Something broke within me to see the hurt that briefly flashed through his eyes.

However, Blade surprised me by giving out a cold chuckle, one that held no hint of genuine amusement. He dug into his pocket and threw my necklace to me. I fumbled to catch it.

“Have it your way then.” Was all he said.

“My pleasure.” I glared, before I quickly wore back my necklace.

With anger and tension still hanging foully in the hair, I turned my back and made my way back where we’d come from. For some reason, my heart wrenched within, begging me to turn back and run into his arm. But inwardly I scoffed at the idea.

He was still a stranger for all I cared.

My thoughts were interrupted by his warm hands that pulled back my arm. That halted my footsteps and I turned to Blade, frowning.

“What now?” I spat out.

He held my eyes in his before letting out a tired sigh.

“I can’t let you go out there alone. You should stay for the night.”

I rolled my eyes. “Why can’t I? Because I’m suddenly your damsel in distress?”

Blade’s eyes darkened and he took a step that closed up the space between us.

“Because it’d be a shame to see your pretty form ripped to pieces by something out there in those woods.”

I swallowed a lump. “Well, I don’t-”

“Don’t fight this, Eva. Please. Just for the night.” He breathed out in a husky tone, deep and beguiling.

I could feel my defenses fall apart.

“Fine. Just for the night.” I repeated.

He sighed in relief, visibly relaxing.

“Thank you.” He formed a little smile, tugging my hair behind my ear.

  • THE ALPHA'S VAMPIRE MATE   TILL ETERNITY

Three weeks later… “Evanora, would you at least have breakfast before you leave?” “For the hundredth time, dad, I can’t,” I replied my dad with a sigh. “I’ve spent a whole week here already. I need to return home.” Home. I smiled as the words escaped my lips. I could finally call Blade’s pack my home. I could finally proudly call myself a member of their pack. Not just as a regular member but as the Luna. I spent the past few weeks after our marriage shuffling between his pack and our coven. It was just as hectic as we imagined as I was constantly needed as Luna and at the same time, the vampire princess. The past week was the most hectic as I had to spend the whole week at our coven. There were tons of events I had to attend, and tons of matters to address and they just kept on increasing, everyone forgetting I was to be on my honeymoon after getting married in not the smoothest manner to the love of my life. It was finally going to pause though as after spending a week alone

  • THE ALPHA'S VAMPIRE MATE   GETTING IT DONE WITH

BLADE’S POVWe literally ran back to the palace, the same thing evidently on both of our minds. Evanora. My Evanora. I couldn’t afford to lose her. I just couldn’t. Silently praying as I ran, I recalled the arrow hitting her right by her heart. Fear gripped me at the thought of her not being fine. She needed to stay strong. I needed her to. My breathing became heavier as I ran. Oddly, the palace seemed to be longer as after what seemed to be hours of running, we still hadn’t gotten there. After seeming like forever, we finally arrived at the palace. Side by side, we rushed towards the garden the ceremony was being held. Tearing through the crowd as we got there, we rushed towards the podium to see Evanora was no longer there. “Where’s she?!” I and the king asked in unison, the fear and worry evident in our voices. “Where is she?” “She’s in one of the tents with the witch.” Mumbling our thanks, we rushed towards the tent pointed at. Taking the lead, I ran and on getting to the

BLADE’S POV“Evanora!” My yell was the loudest it had ever been as I rushed towards her, watching her slump onto the ground. No, no. I shook my head. It couldn’t be happening. I felt my whole world shatter to the ground as she slumped in front of me. We were about to get married. We were about to go through the last ritual so it made no sense she was suddenly shot by an arrow.“Evanora,” I cried out to her, holding her close to me. I stared at her in horror, watching blood pour off her chest. Whoever shot her must have practiced well enough as the arrow hit her right by her heart. “No, Evanora. Please stay with me.”The whole crowd was thrown into a frenzy. It was too terrifying to be true. Not only had someone dared to shoot the princess, but they had also dared to do it at t her wedding. Holding her close to me, I was suddenly consumed by rage. How dare whoever it was trying to hurt her? Swearing on my life, I vowed silently to find whoever it was and have him or have to feel th

  • THE ALPHA'S VAMPIRE MATE   BAD LUCK

EVANORA’S POV A smile appeared on my face as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. It was finally the day. The day I spent the past week counting down to. The day I’d been anticipating ever since I realized I was in love with Blade. It was finally my wedding day I was dressed in a white gown, a bouquet of red roses in my hands. My hair was styled prettily, my makeup was done perfectly and I knew I looked beautiful. I could only imagine how dashing Blade was going to look in the suit we had chosen together, the image of both of us standing close to each other playing in my mind and having my smile even wider. The past few days had been hectic with literally the whole coven preparing for my wedding alongside me. Wolves from Blade’s pack had also freely entered our coven and vice versa, everyone is happy. My dad for one seemed the happiest. He actively took part in the preparations for the wedding as he was always busy around. A lot had to be done and a lot had to be changed too a

  • THE ALPHA'S VAMPIRE MATE   TO-DO LIST

EVANORA’S POV“You have met my Beta once already, right??” I nodded as me and Blade walked out of his office to head to his home. Both excited with the way things were finally turning out, he was about to introduce me to everyone all over again. “Yeah,” I nodded to him. “Why?” “I don’t care,” he playfully replied. “I’m going to introduce you to him all over again. Officially, this time. As my Luna.”I blushed as I had been doing every single time he called me his Luna. The title still felt foreign to me and extremely exciting. “Alright.” Hands intertwined, we climbed down the stairs to step into a wide hall. Taking a couple of steps more, we walked into a corridor and after more walking; we were in front of a room.“Is this his room?” I got the answer to my question as he placed a knock on his door, calling out to him as he did. Initially, all we got in response was silence but after a while of more knocking, the door was finally open.“Were you asleep?” Compared to Blade’s smi

Her people got you captured and now you’re trying to protect her?”“They didn’t capture me, mother,” I replieto d her. “I voluntarily surrendered myself to them and I’m here alive, am I not?”“Blade-”“Order your little minions to let her go,” I breathed out. “We don’t have a reason to be enemies with the vampires anymore, mother.”“What?” she knitted her eyebrows in confusion. “What do you mean?”“Trust me, mother,” I took a step closer to rods her. “Call for an emergency pack meeting and I’ll explain it all. For now, let Evanora go. please mother, don’t make this any harder.”Her shoulders slouched in defeat as she heaved a sigh. She knew she was left with no choice but to liste
