Daisy’s POV

A soft knock echoed on my door, pulling me out of my half-sleep.

“What?” I asked in a rough voice that still carried the heaviness of last night’s tears.

Ever since Mother left yesterday, sleep had been almost impossible. The pack house felt quiet and too empty, and the loneliness came in waves so strong it made my chest ache. I didn’t want to see anyone last night. I’d shut everyone out, hoping silence would help. But even in the morning light, that ache still lingered.

Levi’s POVI stood calmly opposite Luna Debby and her mate.I was sure I at least looked calm, but inside? I wasn't.I was facing my mate’s parents—both of them at the same time. The way Luna Debby was looking at me made it very clear this wasn’t just a friendly visit.I silently prayed, hoping the Moon Goddess was watching over me.Messing this up wasn’t an option.“I’m sure Cassidy and Daisy have a lot to catch up on,” Luna Debby said evenly, though her tone held a cold edge. She gestured to the seat beside her mate. “Sit.”I gave a respectful bow before taking the seat.“Levi,” she began, folding her hands neatly on her lap, “do you know why we are here?”I shook my head slowly.Of course, I knew they missed Daisy. That was obvious. But for some reason, it felt different.“It’s because I found out about your little trip to other packs,” she said.My heart jumped at her words as a cold shiver slid down my spine.“Am… am I in trouble?” I asked before my brain could catch up with my m

Daisy’s POVI looked at Levi and smiled. He was sitting at the edge of the bed, completely absorbed in a thick book that looked far too serious for a perfectly peaceful afternoon. His brows were slightly furrowed, lips pressed in concentration, one hand resting against the page as if the information might run away if he didn’t hold it down.I rolled onto my stomach and propped my chin on my hands.“I’m bored,” I said softly, stretching the word just enough to make it obvious I wanted attention. He didn’t look up immediately.“Mm.”My eyes narrowed. Oh, so we’re playing that game?“Levi,” I tried again, softer this time, letting my voice dip. That did it.He looked up slowly, and the moment our eyes met, a small, fond smile curved his lips.“What?” he asked gently.I sat upright and shuffled closer, then deliberately climbed onto his lap.“What are you even reading?” I asked, leaning back slightly so I could see the cover. He carefully placed the book aside before wrapping an arm aroun

Daisy’s POVI woke slowly, wrapped in warmth that felt heavier than sleep. For a moment, I didn’t move. I just breathed. My body felt rested in a way I had never known before—satisfied yet pleasantly sore. When I turned, I held my breath; Levi was next to me, already awake. He was propped on one elbow beside me, his hair slightly mussed, his eyes gazing into mine softly as he smiled down at me.“Good morning,” he murmured.Memory crashed into me all at once: his hands, the way they moved, his voice, the way he had said my name like it was heaven. Heat rushed to my face so fast that I grabbed the blanket and pulled it over my head.“Oh my God,” I groaned. “Don’t look at me.”A soft laugh followed. “Daisy.”“No,” I insisted from under the blanket. “I refuse to exist for the next five minutes.”He chuckled again, closer this time, and then the blanket was gently tugged down.“Hey,” he said softly. “You’re allowed to look at me.”I peeked out just enough to see him smiling, and before I c

Daisy’s POVThe bath helped… but only on the surface.Hot water slid down my skin, carrying away the sweat and fatigue I felt. I leaned back against the tub, my eyes closed, breathing slowly. My wolf was restless for some unknown reason, and I wondered if it was because of Gilbert. When I finally stepped out, I dressed quickly and stepped out only to find Levi waiting outside the door like he’d been standing guard the whole time.“You okay?” he asked softly, his eyes scanning me as if he were checking for wounds I couldn’t see.“I will be,” I answered. “I need to see them.”He sighed softly. “Gilbert?”“Yes, and the others.”He nodded once and grabbed my hand, linking it to his.The walk to the dungeon was quiet, and it was exactly what I needed to distract myself from thinking about the dream. When we reached the cells, the sight waiting for us made my steps slow.Gilbert was slumped against the iron bars, chains biting into his wrists. His skin was pale, and sweat clung to his templ

Daisy’s POVThe pack grounds were still a mess long after the portal closed.Dust clung to the air. Blood stained the earth in ugly patches. Injured warriors groaned softly where they had been left. No one spoke above a whisper.Ian, the twin, Amelia, Kyle, Dusk… all of them were gone. And now the mess was mine to handle.I stood at the center of the grounds, Levi just a step behind me. I could feel every pair of eyes on my back: fear, guilt, and expectation—somehow twisted in a form of hope.My wolf finally stirred and let out a low growl. She had been watching everything with quiet judgment, and now she wanted us to fix everything without showing any form of fear or weakness.“Where is he?” I asked calmly. No one answered.I turned slowly, letting my gaze settle on a trembling warrior. “Where is Gilbert?”He swallowed hard. “Hiding in the… the dungeon, Alpha. He also locked up Elder Alina.”He really was a freaking pest.“Levi,” I said quietly. “Stay here.”He caught my wrist gently

Kyle’s POV“You just wanted to show off, didn’t you, Dad?” I asked the moment we stepped fully out of the portal and the magic sealed behind us.The air of our pack hit my lungs, grounding and alive. Yet the lingering echo of battle still clung to my skin, humming under it like leftover lightning.“Ian did,” Father Axel’s calm voice echoed through the pack mind-link. “And he wanted us to exercise.”I snorted softly, though pride warmed my chest. Typical Dad. If there was an excuse to demonstrate dominance, power, and remind the world why our pack stood at the top—he would take it.Still, something felt… different.I scanned the clearing, my brows knitting together when I didn’t immediately sense him nearby.“Father,” I called through the mind-link again, more carefully this time. “It’s been a long time.”There was a pause.Then—warmth.“I’ll be with you shortly,” he replied. The moment his voice faded, Lionel surged inside me, his very existence practically making it known how happy h
