FAZER LOGINSebastian’s POV. The guard’s face creased as he looked at us. We didn’t move, if he was stupid, he could have thought we were statues or some kind of relics. However, he was not. “Who are you folks?” He asked. The rest of the men stopped. They turned. They stepped towards us but before they could raise an alarm or do anything that wouldn’t work in our favor, I stepped out of my hiding place with full force and my men followed behind. I charged towards the one who noticed us first and while he still struggled to yank the sword in his waist out, I removed my knife from its sheath and slit his neck in one swift move. By the time I looked around, all six men were down, with everyone of my men still standing. “We should take care of the bodies. We don’t want to leave a trail behind” The men dragged the bodies away and had them covered with bushes while some others cleaned the blood trails that were on the ground. We returned to our hiding spot and I resumed thinking. The best way
Sebastian’s POV. The armies lined up in clear rows and columns in the pack courtyard. I looked over at everyone, counting the numbers in my head. Many of them were armed with guns, while the rest who preferred knives and pocket spears had them. There were over a thousand. That was enough to defeat the Riven pack. “Let’s move,” I said, voice loud and commanding. We headed to the numerous vans that had been parked outside the courtyard. One of the men took the driving seat of the leading car, and while Dante took the passenger’s seat, I took the back. The rest of the men filled up the other vans and we moved. The ride was silent but I was so deep in thought, thinking about Everett. It felt as if Dante noticed. “You think she won’t be fine on her own?” He glanced back at me. I didn’t answer. Dante faced the road once again, but he didn’t stop speaking. “I’ve seen that girl talk, and I know she can handle herself.” He claimed. “I don’t think so. She’s still trying to settle int
Eve’s POV. The camp of the infected was so quiet when we arrived. Sebastian was beside me, while Akira and Shadow followed behind. I held the herbal tonic with shaky hands and heck, I was so nervous if I must admit. We got in. Lady Maeryn noticed our presence and stepped forward to receive us. “Welcome, Alpha. Welcome, Luna” I smiled faintly. “We brought a tonic made with Bloodfire bark. It’s a possible cure” I skipped all petty talks and went straight to the point. Lady Maeryn’s gaze moved from my face to my hands and her face twitched with displeasure. She still wasn’t in for this. She murmured. “Okay” “Someone will need to try it” I said, voice reluctant. One thing was, the person who would try the tonic could die. If lucky, they would live. I didn’t keep this thought to myself, I said it out loud so everyone would hear it. My face moved around the patients that were on the bed and many of them seemed reluctant about using the tonic. Some tore their gaze away to the other
Eve’s POV. “Shadow will stay with you. You can have as many of the maids as you want to help you” Sebastian said when I reached the door. “Only Akira will do” I walked out of the door, and headed to the servants quarters to find Akira. Miranda was just heading out of the place when I arrived. Our eyes locked, and I thought she was going to make the evening more difficult than it had gotten, but she didn't. She bowed slightly and just walked by. I didn't have the time to think about her or wonder about the reason why she had become humble over the past weeks. I arrived at Akira's room and placed a knock. My hand had barely left the door when it opened. A fair lady stood in front of me, a smile on her face and her hair stopping at shoulder length. I looked over at her body in one quick glance. It was Akira's new roommate from what she had told me about. “Hi” I said, voice low. “I'd like to see Akira” Her eyes widened with amusement as if she had just realized something. “You
Eve’s POV. How many hours has it been since I’ve sat at the dining table? I had lost count. I was concerned about Sebastian, about the pack, about everything that was currently happening. My legs were curled up to myself on the chair, unconsciously fidgeting with my nails. I was still doing that when a knock came on the door. My body jolted immediately and my head snapped towards the entrance. Was that Sebastian? No, you dumb. Why would he knock before entering his own house? I headed to the door and when I opened it, Akira stood there. I breathed out though I didn’t know what that was for. “I didn’t know if you wanted to be disturbed, Luna,” Shadow said. I flashed him a smile and turned back to Akira. “Come in” I paved the way for her to walk through. She walked into the house first and I walked after her. “I didn’t hear about your journey until you left” She said, turning to look at me with her face filled with concern. We both settled around the dining table and she si
Sebastian's POV. “Tell me, Blake” I started, voice hoarse. “Since when have you been working with Riven pack?” “Since when has your loyalty been divided?”Blake looked at me, his gaze fierce and hateful. He said nothing, and I didn't need to tell the guards that stood behind him before they whipped him. One delivered a lash from the left side while the other delivered another from the left. Blake bit his lips and winced. He was acting tough, and I liked that. As much as I would have loved to hold this conversation with him, and find entertainment out of torturing him, I didn't have the luxury at the time. And another thing was, I couldn't come back to deal with him. It had to be now. “Forget that.” I said quickly. How long he had been doing what he had been doing no longer mattered. Something else does now. My gaze moved to the left and I signaled to the guard who stood beside the fire brazier. Just a nod, and he approached with the branding tool. The metal seared hot and red
