At the hospital, she looks at Martin, touched by his caring nature, and whispers, "Thank you for everything, Martin."
He smiles warmly, his eyes twinkling with a mixture of concern and curiosity. 'Don't mention it, Sarah. I'm always here for you. I was quite surprised by Adelle's treatment of you. You look… different than I remember from those dinners my father and I attended during our quarterly visits. How could Huifen let you wear plain clothes and scrub the floors?'
"Quarterly?" Sarah muses, the word echoing in her mind. "Are these visits... obligatory?" she asks cautiously, a disturbing thought beginning to take shape. "Why do they always come for dinner on the first Sunday of every three months?"
"It's because we want to check in on you, Sarah," he explains. "Your father always asks about your studies and how you're doing. You always reply briefly with a smile, so we assumed everything was fine.”
"Now, I’m just curious," Sarah says slowly, "By the way, why do you always schedule these dinner visits and feel the need to ask those questions?"
"Oh my God! It seems no one ever told you. Did your uncle and aunt ever mentioned that my father, as the lawyer of your late mother, is legally responsible for overseeing your well-being while you live in your own home?"
"Martin," Sarah says, her voice with a hint of defiance, "don't give me that look. I really don't understand what you're getting at. I'm just an orphan adopted by an actress struggling due to loss of business and career, who chose to end her life by pill overdose.”
"What?! Is that what they told you all these years?" Martin gets irritated with what he is hearing.
She was stunned on how Martin reacted with what she said. “What do you mean?" Sarah asks because she feels there's something she needs to know.
Martin let out a heavy sigh, "I just couldn't believe the lies they fed you. We will deal with that, I’ll need to call my father, so please excuse me for a while." There is a hint of anger in his voice. And his expression is serious, as if he wants to hit someone.
As they step into the Lui mansion, Sarah feels a mix of apprehension and gratitude towards Martin. Her hand was now sewn and covered with bandage. She is so grateful for his initiative to help and genuine concern. However, the revelations Martin had shared left her completely baffled."
They walk into the living room and meets with a tense atmosphere. Mr. Alfred Lui and Huifen are seated, their faces strained with worry and confusion. Adelle, with tear-stained cheeks, sat beside them, her emotions visibly in turmoil. And at the same time, Atty. Richard Wane looks at his son, waiting for him to say something.
Sarah's heart sinks, realizing that her presence seemed to have caused a family crisis.
"You manipulative flirt," Huifen spats, her voice spiked with venom. "My daughter has been inconsolable since this morning because of you."
Martin smirks, "As usual, your daughter's a master of the tall tale. Look, Huifen, who's truly the one suffering here?"
Sarah looks at Mr. Wane’s serious expression. She hesitated but later decides to speak up, addressing to Martin’s father, "Sir, I'm sorry for the commotion. It was an accident, and Martin took care of everything. I promise to be more careful in the future."
Attorney Richard Wane was the lawyer of her late Mama Daisy. He is a man of wisdom and compassion, speaks gently, "It's not just about the accident, Sarah. Martin called me how you've been treated here in your own house,” he explains sternly. “And I must say, I'm deeply disappointed with Huifen and Adelle's behavior towards you. I thought, all along everything is doing well for you Sarah."
Huifen tries to interject, but Mr. Wane held up his hand, silencing her.
"No, Huifen, this needs to be addressed. It's clear that Sarah has been mistreated and overlooked, and that's not how family treats one another. How come she wears worn out clothes and looks terrible?”
He walks towards Sarah and looks at her from head to feet. "Perhaps you never told Sarah of her rights, which I can see, her clothing and footwear are not as fine as you wrote in your court reports, Huifen. You must have edited the photos you sent to me."
Sarah is totally shocked with Martin's father. She never thought there was a court agreement or reports which should be submitted in court. So, all along, she was deceived by her aunt and even her uncle. It would be impossible for him not to know it.
On the other hand, behind the door separating the living room and the formal dining room, the maids, Jane, and Tarah, huddled together, their eyes wide with shock as they eavesdrop on the conversation. Mira, tried to dismiss them, "Go back to your work," she instructs, but her ears were glued to the unfolding drama.
"Mr. Wane, I never knew about these things." Sarah butts in with a tone of surprise evident on her voice.
"I'm sorry Sarah. I have trusted your uncle and his wife so much, and I never heard you complained not even once. You must know, you are a very rich young lady."
Huifen sniffles, "But she's not even our blood relation, she's just an adopted girl. Why are you defending her!?"
Mr. Wane's voice grows stern, "Huifen, don't ever think of someone as 'just an adopted girl.' Sarah is part of your family, and she deserves respect and love just like anyone else. Her background doesn't define her worth. And she is the lawful daughter of Daisy, which means she is the rightful heiress."
Mr. Wane throw the folders right in front of the Lui couple. "Here's the agreement you signed twelve years ago. You have misused her money with your gambling's and excessive way of life through all the years you were here."
Sarah is taken aback by Mr. Wane's revelations, and she feels tears welling up again, this time not from pain but from the overwhelming emotions stirring within her. She has money, but they denied it from her, and she has worked like a slave for all these years.
Mr. Lui, who remains silent until now, finally speaks up, "Richard, I must apologize for my wife's behavior and for how we've treated Sarah. She is right; we've allowed ourselves to forget that she's family too. And from now on, we will give what is due to her."
Then Alfred turns to her niece, “Sarah, I hope you could find it in your heart to forgive us.”
Huifen seems resentful and expresses her disapproval of her husband's apology. "You're impossible Alfred! Why do you have to apologize?! You've worked so hard for the company. And you are Daisy's blood-brother! I won't let this happen. We will make an appeal to the higher court since the Last Will Testament is missing."
Mr. Wane laughs at Huifen. "You must know the extent of your rights. And for your information, when Daisy died, her company has already attained great success. She never had a loan because her career as an actress was at its peak and her businesses was flourishing."
His attention shifts to Alfred, "You're only at the company to represent Sarah, since she's a minor. Everyone in the company knows that, even without you, the board members are very much capable to run the company. And with Sarah's wit and intelligence as reflected in her academic records, I'm sure she would learn to manage everything well."
Sarah finds her voice, "I appreciate your words, Mr. Wane. But I think it's best for me to leave after my graduation. I don't want to cause any more trouble."
Martin, who has been standing by Sarah's she, interjected, "Sarah, you don't have to leave. This villa is your home. Your uncle and his family will be leaving this house."
Mr. Richard Wane nods in agreement, "Martin is right. We won't allow you to be mistreated anymore. You have the right over your inheritance, and we'll make sure you get what is rightfully yours."
Huifen thought of her last card on check and glances at her daughter, who hands her an envelope.
She looks at Mr. Wane before he could continue dishing out about Sarah's inheritance. "Mr. Wane you are a lawyer, right? And you know that my daughter is technically still a minor."
Mr. Wane gives her a puzzling look, "Huifen, do not divert our conversation!"
"Just answer my question, Mr. Wane before we continue." Huifen says with a strained voice.
"What do you exactly mean by that?"
Huifen laughs, "Martin spent a night with my daughter and got her pregnant. In the eyes of law, she is still a child."
Everyone in the room are all eyes on Martin.
But Martin laughs softly, "So, Adelle, this is how you think you can get me. Why don't you tell everyone here how I helped you that night?"
Mr. Lui budges in, "Martin all I want to know, if you truly had sex with my daughter. Your answer should only be yes or no."
"Yes! Now, Mr. Lui, does that satisfy you?" Martin mockingly replies.
Alfred reacts by delivering a forceful punch to Martin's face. "I'll take legal action against you for harming my daughter! She is still a minor!"
With bloodied and bruised lips, Martin smirks. "So, Alfred and Huifen, you will take a legal action on me to secure your rights on Sarah's wealth. "
Adelle gets irritated with how Martin answered back her father, "Don't talk that way to my parents!"
He didn't even mind Adelle's words, "Mr. Lui, watch what I've going to send you, and you'll find out what kind of daughter you have." He takes out his phone from his pocket then sends a file in their e-mails.
"Martin, please don't!" Adelle pleads, trying to intervene.
"Adelle, you wanted chaos, right? You asked for this scenario to happen. It's time they'll know what you are up to when you go out at night. You are nothing but an addict and a nympho."
Their cellphones buzzed...
"Oh, my God!" gasps Mr. Wane.
Sarah is also shocked watching the video.
She couldn't imagine her cousin would do such scandal, with her private parts all over the screen. Since she could not take it much longer, she turned off her phone.
Alfred walked towards her daughter and slaps on both cheeks. "You disgraced yourself and your family. If this goes viral, you'll be nothing!"
Adelle is visibly upset, and tears welled up in her eyes. "I'm sorry, Dad," she chokes out. "I didn't mean for things to turn out this way."
Huifen is unable to bear what she just has witnessed, let out a heartbreaking scream, "Noooo!"
Her emotions overwhelm her, and she feels a deep sense of anger, shock, distress, and shame at the situation. Then, she went to shake her daughter's shoulders, "Tell me, this isn't you, tell me she just looks like you?"
Martin responds, “How could it be anyone else? Look at the guys she's making out with – spoiled brats from her own social circle. She even invited other girls, those… those wanton creatures, to spice things up. Watch, they're doing all sorts of things to her. This is the CCTV footage from the bar’s private room they rented that night. I had to act quickly, you know because the late Ms. Daisy and her daughter Sarah are our valued client and Adelle is her cousin. Imagine if this video had leaked online."
"Mom, I know it was a mistake, and I feel awful about it. Please believe me, this isn't what I wanted it to be." Adelle exclaims, while crying.
Huifen continues to shake her daughter, "Adelle, who is the father among them?" the mother questions anxiously.
"Mom, I don't know. I really don't know. Please forgive me," Adelle responds, her voice filled with uncertainty and remorse.
"You turned yourself into a whore!" Her mother was overcome with emotion, sobbing uncontrollably.
In her anguish, she kicks off her Louboutin shoes and tore her pearls from her neck. The tears ruined her makeup as she found herself sitting on the floor, feeling utterly devastated, much like a child who had been denied of a piece of candy.
"Your daughter is addicted to fentanyl and made out with men and women in the room. They were eight teenage guys, and three girl minors like her. It got into media streaming during that very night, but I immediately contacted the site where it was uploaded and paid for it.
"I took her to my pad since she was high with drugs, she couldn't control her urges...
Adelle shouts, "Stop it Martin!"
But Martin continues, "She was about to jump from the building, so I gave in to her carnal needs. Frankly, Mr. Alfred Lui, I felt so dirty that time because of the number of guys and girls she had made out with. You must know I used condom, so there's no way I would get her pregnant. And it only happened once."
Mr. Lui, removes his glasses, and slaps her daughter again, "How many times have you've gone to those indecent bars with your friends?"
Then he turns his attention to his wife, "I'm totally fed-up Huifen, take Adelle with you after her birthday ball and leave this house!"
Mr. Wane looks at everyone. He lets out a heavy sigh and thought of settling everything once and for all, "Martin, Alfred let's go to the study room and we shall talk. Sarah, go to your room and take a rest."
Huifen and Adelle were left at the living room. Adelle crying, Huifen furious with what her daughter did and slaps her, too. "How could you be so tainted!"
"Mom, please forgive me. I couldn't control myself sometimes, she said crying.
"Who is the father," Huifen asks while still in shock.
"I do not know, Mom! I honestly do not know! If you want, I'll just end my life now!"She looks at her daughter and couldn't believe this is happening to her. She is so young, much younger compared to her, when she had her. "Adelle, everything was given to you, you had options, I never had those before!"
Torn between her fury and her pity for her daughter. She hugs her and they cried together.
"Mom, please, tell me, what should I do now."
"We'll think of something better," she comforts her daughter.
How hateful she was for her daughter's promiscuity! But she was like that, too, during her younger years. She lost her virginity from one of her mother’s clients. The man gave her money and lots of gifts and she was happy back then to have things she never had. Then she ran away because her mother slapped her for robbing her clients. Amelia, her prostitute mom got jealous of her youth and beauty. Since then, she slept with men of different ages to earn a living for herself.
But it was poverty that forced her to be that way. Her daughter now has everything she needs and wants, which she never had any of what Adelle has now. There should never be a reason for her to whore around.
All she could do is to blame it all to Sarah. Her daughter should haven't suffered such shame in front of her own father and future father-in-law Mr. Richard Wane, if it weren't for her presence in their lives.
Her hatred towards Sarah is growing stronger. She thought of something, and suddenly smiles wickedly for Sarah doesn't know what exactly is in stored for her.
"Come here my, baby." She hugs her daughter who's crying profusely. Bawling like a baby in her arms.
Mira, who has been eavesdropping intently, wipes tears from her eyes. "I knew these three are monsters in this house," she mutters, with a grim satisfaction in her voice. 'You will pay dearly for what you did to my poor girl.”

The air in the opulent dining room hung heavy with the scent of expensive wine and the unspoken tension between father and son. Chairman Benjie Lao, his face etched with a mixture of age and power, surveyed the table. His son, Grayson, sat opposite him, his jaw clenched, eyes flashing with anger. Yet he remains calm and collected."Grayson, my boy," Benjie began, his voice deceptively smooth, "It's time you settle down. You're not getting any younger."Grayson scoffs in a low cynic voice, "Settle down? Papa, you ruined my life. If you hadn't interfered five years ago, I would have been married to Sarah. We would have a family, a home. Instead, you..." His voice trailed off, the pain of the past still raw."Circumstances changed, my son," Benjie explains, his tone hardening. "You know how things are. Business, obligations...""Obligations?" Grayson spat, "My obligations were to Sarah! And to Leo!"The name of his best friend, the man he considered a brother, sent a tremor of rage throu
Grayson stirs awake, the scent of jasmine and something faintly musky filling the air. He blinked, and open his eyes, adjusting to the morning light filtering through the sheer curtains. Two women, their bodies entwined with his, sleeps soundly beside him.The women shift, their eyes fluttering open with a sleepy warmth. A gentle smile graces their lips as they meet his gaze, their breaths soft against his skin. One reaches out, her caressing his enormous phallus, but he gently halts her.The other one leans in, her lips approaching his, yet he instinctively turns away, a silent command in his eyes. He disentangled himself from them and walks assed them naked.“Stop!” His voice rings out, fury flickering in his eyes. He doesn't want to be touched that way in the morning, eversince he had Sarah. The young women, barely in their twenties, flinched at his tone, their bodies stiff with apprehension. The two ladies, still adjusting to the morning after, have yet to understand the unspoken
CRRRIIIIINNNNGGGG... CRRRIIIIINNNNGGGG... CRRRIIIIINNNNGGGG...The incessant calls startled Cynthia from her afternoon nap on the villa's open balcony overlooking the beauty of the vast ocean. Groaning, she reached for her phone and fumbles."Hello?" she mumbles, her voice thick with sleep."Madam," a familiar voice boomed from the other end of the line. "I have some… surprising news."Cynthia sat up, instantly alert. "Mr. Chung? What is it?""Sarah… she's throwing a gala," Mr. Chung announces, his voice laced with a mixture of awe and apprehension. "A grand affair. And… and she's hired Valentino to design the gowns and tuxedos."Cynthia feels a jolt of disbelief. "Valentino? Are you serious?""Absolutely," Mr. Chung confirms. "Apparently, no expense is being spared."A wave of unease washes over Cynthia. "This… this doesn't feel right," she says slowly. "It's too extravagant, too… flashy.""I agree," Mr. Chung admits. "It's… unprecedented. But Sarah, she always was one for grand gestu
When Sarah left the ground floor hall, she instructed Vice President Chen to announce the good news to the employees and board of directors. The room buzzed with excitement as Mr. Chen, stepped onto the stage. All eyes were on him as he adjusted the microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen," he begins, his voice booming across the auditorium, "I have a very special announcement!"A ripple of anticipation passed through the crowd."To celebrate the remarkable achievements of our company, and to foster camaraderie and strengthen our bonds, we will be hosting a grand gala ball next Saturday evening!"The announcement was met with a wave of excited murmurs."And to ensure everyone shines," Mr. Chen continues with a smile, "the company will be providing a generous allowance of five thousand dollars to each employee for their attire. Feel free to indulge in the finest gowns, the most elegant suits, and the most dazzling jewelry!"The room erupted in cheers and applause."We've invited dignitaries f
The next morning, Sarah addressed the entire company in a powerful and moving speech. She stands before them, her posture like a queen, her voice clear and strong. Cynthia and Arlene weren't there. She was told they are in vacation at Grayson's private resort in California."Smart bitches," she tells herself but shrugs the thought of them."I know there are doubts," she says, her voice loud through the company auditorium, cutting through the whispers and the innuendo."I know there are those who question my reputation and integrity. I know they are trying to undermine me, to sow seeds of discord. But I will not let fear dictate my actions. I will not allow negativity to define my legacy. As they say, when someone thrives, knives are everywhere."Everyone applauded her for her humility, because this is the first time that a Xiang family member, talks to them so casually. Especially so she is their CEO.Sarah raises her left hand, silencing the hall. "I’m overwhelmed with your concerns,"
The article lay crumpled in Sarah's hands, the ink blurring with the tears that streamed down her face. "Sinner or Saint? CEO Intellectual Bores Twins from Billionaire Italian Count." The headline, a venomous concoction of lies and innuendo, mocked her from the page. This wasn't just a smear campaign; it was a calculated assault on her character, an attempt to destroy her reputation, to strip her of her dignity. A chilling realization dawned on her. This wasn't just random gossip. This was deliberate. This was orchestrated. The pieces begin to fall into place. The anonymous phone calls, the "concerned" employees, the subtle undermining at every turn. It wasn't just the media; it was her own family.Cynthia. Arlene. Fiona. Lorie. They won't really stop! But she needs evidence and names of owners of those online blogs and magazines who printed false news about her. The realization hit her like a physical blow. How could they? How could her own family, the people who were supposed to su
