Chapter 29

I could hear Orion’s voice in my dream. He and Tristan seemed to be having some kind of argument.

But why would they be arguing? And in my dream?

In all the years I'd known them, I'd rarely heard them raise their voices at each other. They disagreed sometimes, sure, but they always worked things out with quiet conversations and mutual respect.

This sounded different. This sounded angry, hurt, desperate.

"She’s my sister! I have a right to know, man!" Orion's voice was tight with barely controlled emotion, the kind of tone he used when he was trying very hard not to completely lose his temper.

Even though his voice sounded so real, I knew I was dreaming because there was no way he could be here. He's with Liam and he'd be there, for at least three more days, until the fever completely broke.

Still, the voices continued. And they were definitely talking about me. My stomach clenched with dread by the thought.

"She wanted to tell you herself," Tristan said, sounding tired. ""

Chapter 30"When are we going to talk about all of it? About how you ghosted me after our parents died? About how you disappeared for months when I needed you most? About when....""Orion!" Tristan cut in, his voice sharp. "I’m not doing this here.""Yes, you are. I've giving you enough time, haven't I?" Orion shot back, and I could hear his alpha authority creeping into his voice now. "Athena is unconscious for the next few hours, and this conversation is long overdue. We're talking about it. Right now." Their voices clashed like thunder, raw and heavy with years of unspoken pain. Things were getting completely out of control and I knew that if I didn't stop this soon, they were going to say things that couldn't be taken back.I had to stop this. With every ounce of strength I had left, I Slowly and painfully manage to crack my eyes open. Sunlight was streaming through the curtains, hitting me directly in the face and making me wince.I was still in my room at Tristan's place, but t

  • THE BIKER ALPHA WHO BECAME MY SECOND CHANCE MATE   28 THE DARKNESS WAS ALREADY PULLING ME UNDER, AND I COULDN'T FIGHT IT ANYMORE

Chapter 28Athena's PovLeah wanted to ask more questions, I could see it in the way her brow furrowed with concern and her mouth opened slightly like she was about to speak. But something about my tone, the fragile edge in my voice, must have warned her off.She just nodded and led me back to her car, though she kept stealing worried glances at me as we walked. I could feel her eyes on me, studying my face like she was trying to solve a puzzle. The weight of her concern felt heavy on my shoulders, another burden I wasn't sure I could carry right now.The drive home was a complete disaster. I was so lost in my own head, so completely shaken by what had just happened, that I kept giving Leah wrong directions. My thoughts were spinning in endless circles - was it really him? Had Daxon somehow tracked me down? Was I losing my mind, seeing threats where none existed? I saw him turned, it wasn't him. I really need to get my shit together, this was becoming embarrassing. We missed the tu

Chapter 27 Daxon's POVI stood in the shadows with a bright smile stretching across my face as I watched Athena walk away from that pathetic stranger, her entire body still trembling like a leaf in a storm.I knew what I needed to do to break the little hope she was starting to build again. Even from this distance, I could smell her fear, that sweet, intoxicating scent that had always driven me wild with hunger. She was still completely affected by me. Still broken. Still mine.My wolf was growling and pacing inside my mind, calling out for what belonged to us.*Our mate! She's right there! Take her!*"Yeah, she's ours," I murmured under my breath, watching her stumble out of the alley like a wounded animal. "She'll always be ours."*Let's go get her now. Claim her. Drag her back where she belongs. Make her remember who owns her.**Calm down, buddy. She'll be ours soon enough. But not yet.*I'd watched with delicious satisfaction as she chased after that random stranger, desperatio

  • THE BIKER ALPHA WHO BECAME MY SECOND CHANCE MATE   26 DAY I REJECTED HIM

Chapter 26Leah and I finished up the day's work, but I couldn't concentrate on anything. My mind kept wandering to Sera lying in that hospital bed, to the similarities between her story and mine, to the way Tristan had dropped everything to be there for her. When we finally closed up, Leah offered to drive me home as planned."Actually," I said, making a sudden decision, "could you drop me at the market? I want to get some things to make dinner."She looked surprised but nodded. "Of course. I can wait for you if you want.""That would be great," I said, grateful for her company. The thought of being completely alone right now didn't appeal to me.The market was busy with the evening rush, families picking up last-minute ingredients for dinner, couples debating over wine choices. I moved through the aisles mechanically, grabbing ingredients for Tristan's favorite pasta dish. Cooking for him felt like something concrete I could do, a way to show care when everything else felt so compl

  • THE BIKER ALPHA WHO BECAME MY SECOND CHANCE MATE   25 I'LL BE BACK AS SOON AS I CAN

Chapter 25The woman lying unconscious on the hospital bed was someone I never thought I'd see again. Someone I'd hoped to never see again, if I'm being completely honest.Seraphine Ashworth.Even after all these years, even with her face swollen and bruised beyond recognition, I knew it was her. The same perfectly straight blonde hair, now matted with blood. The same sharp cheekbones that used to look down at me with such disdain. The same small scar above her left eyebrow that she'd gotten when she tried to fight a senior girl who'd told her she wasn't pretty enough for Tristan.Seraphine had been my senior in high school, two years older and infinitely more confident than I ever was. She'd made my life a living hell for months, all because she had a massive crush on Tristan and he didn't even know she existed.I never told Orion or Tristan about what she put me through. It seemed like such a silly girl thing compared to the real problems they were dealing with - pack politics, tra
