Five

"Hi" Eva said to a shocked looking Adler. He'd just come back from London to find her on his doorstep, waiting for him.

In all honesty, she wasn't planning on going to see him at all. He'd run off to London after promising her dinner and she was a little mad at him. If he didn't want to see her then all he had to do was say so. She was willing to give him time to get used to the fact that she was going to be his girlfriend. She also wanted him to go looking for her. That way she would know how he felt about her. But Rossy ruined everything.

Last night when she was about to go to bed, her sister had called telling her to hold on to him and never let go. Now, while Eva knew exactly why she wanted to be with Adler, she didn't need any further advice on keeping him. That just made things harder on her end. Whatever her sister saw in him to warrant that call, Eva wanted to know too. It was unlike Rosslyn to call and tell her to keep a man. Between the two sisters, they had a rule about men. And that was to keep their opinions of each other's boyfriend to themselves unless it was necessary to speak up. Not that Eva followed that rule but still....

She wanted Adler to chase her. Just once.

"Should I ask how you found out where I live?" he asked leaning on the wall beside her.

"I have my ways"

"Okay then. I'll go for why you're here then"

"You owe me dinner Adler"

"I know. And I would have called you when my schedule opened up. You didn't have to come all the way here"

Narrowing her eyes she studied him. He looked a little tired but still handsome as ever. Leaning on the wall like that while holding a traveling bag, he might as well have stepped out of a GQ magazine. She wondered how many women threw themselves at him and how many he caught. Perhaps there was someone he liked or loved. Otherwise, why would he be pushing her away?

"You really don't like me at all. Do you?" she asked sighing. She'd gotten her way with men every other time so it was only fair that this one didn't want her. Eventually there was bound to be a man out there who could resist her charms. It was a pity that man was Adler but she couldn't do anything. There was a difference between pursuing someone you liked and being desperate. If it ever came to the latter then she would definitely be in trouble.

"Okay. Get some rest Adler. I'll see you around" she said starting to walk past him to the elevator but he grabbed her arm asking,

"Leaving so soon? Didn't you come here for dinner?"

"I did. But I also know where I'm not wanted so I promise not to bother you again"

"Did I overestimate you? I didn't think you'd give up so soon"

Turning around to fully face him, she said "I don't understand you. One second you want me to leave and the next you're disappointed because I'm doing what you wanted? Make up your mind Adler"

"Call me Mace or Mason and I never told you to leave. I know I owe you dinner so come on in"

"Are you doing this just to get rid of me? Because if that's the case then don't bother. I'll leave on my own and never come back here again"

"I wouldn't invite you into my house if I didn't want you to come in"

"So now you want me to come in? Did you change your mind or are you planning to take advantage of me? I know that I'm......"

"Jesus woman, I'm simply agreeing to have dinner with you. Stop overreacting about every little thing"

"Does this mean we're dating then?" Eva asked excitedly. Adler looked at her then shook his head saying,

"God you're adorable. Too adorable for my peace of mind"

"Oh come on. We both like each other so what's stopping us from being together?"

"Nothing. Absolutely nothing at all"

Taking that as a good sign, Eva walked in the second he opened the door. She went around the apartment, surveying everything. It was a typical bachelor's house with grey and black decor. Except for the flowers in the vase that was on top of the dining table, nothing else was out of the ordinary. She knew firsthand that men couldn't be bothered to place flowers anywhere in their houses so this had to be the handiwork of some woman. All of a sudden, she wasn't in the mood to have dinner with him.

"What's with the face? Is my house not to your liking?"

"If it wasn't would you allow me to change anything?" she quipped

"Let's see... " he said scratching his chin "What don't you like?"

"The flowers" and without waiting for his reply she snatched them out of the vase then dumped them in the trash bin.

"My mom will be really disappointed that you don't like the flowers she chose for her precious son" Mason told her smiling.

"Your mom? As in your mother?" Eva shrieked

"Yes"

"Oh my God, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" she scrambled to take them out of the trash "I didn't mean to throw them away. I'm really sorry"

"It's okay...."

"No it's not. If she knew I'm sure she'd be really mad"

"Stop Eva. It's okay"

"I think I ruined them. I saw a flower shop when I was on my way here. I'll be right back. I'm going to buy exactly the same flowers. She won't even know....." Mason took her shoulders and walked her backwards until her back hit something solid, cold. The fridge.

"I said its okay. Stop worrying"

"You should have told me they were from your mother. I thought some other woman had placed them there so I got mad and grabbed them without thinking. I'm really sorry"

"Are you saying you were jealous because you thought I had another woman?" he asked smirking. She knew he was teasing her but she couldn't help it. As early as this he had to understand that sharing had never been one of her strong holds.

"Of course. As your girlfriend, I will be really pissed if ever find out you have another woman. I don't like sharing Mason. Especially when it comes to my man"

He let go of her shoulders and took a step back, the smirk on his face gone. Eva's heart skipped a bit. Had she said the wrong thing? Was that the reason he'd pulled away from her? She couldn't describe the expression on his face so she stood still, afraid that he might throw her out. Throwing away the flowers his mother had bought for him wasn't enough. She had to go and open her big mouth. You're and idiot Eva. Such a big idiot. She cursed herself.

Mason looked at her one more time then hissed "Fuck!" she was about to apologize again but he moved and in a flash, he was pressing her against the fridge "Do you ever think before you speak?" he asked, his breath fanning her face

"Why? Did I say something wrong?"

"I don't know. I honestly can't understand why what you said is making me act like this"

Eva frowned "Like what?"

Instead of replying, he bent his head and captured her lips with his. Shocked that this was happening so soon and that he was the one who'd initiated it, Eva froze for a second, scared that she might be dreaming. That was the thing about dreams. You move and they're over. This right here was a dream she hoped would last forever. But then Mason started to pull back because she wasn't responding and that got her to move. Snapping out of it, she quickly wound her hands around his neck and pulled his head down.

Maybe he'd just wanted a taste or a simple kiss. But the second their lips touched, she wanted more. Actually, she wanted everything and she made sure to make it clear. He flattened his palm on her lower back, closing the distance between their bodies. Eva pulled the hair at the nape of his neck while rubbing herself against him and was pleased when she felt him pressing on her stomach. It was their first kiss but it didn't feel that way. It felt as if they'd done this several times and it was time to take it to another level.

She was definitely ready to move this to the bedroom. Of course there was nothing wrong with the kitchen or the living room. She was really creative when the situation caller for it. But she wanted to do a lot of things that would require him to be comfortable and on his back. Later they could move on to other rooms. That thought had her locking her knees together. Finally she'd found a man who lit her on fire and he was taking too long to put it out. The way his hands moved on her back, leisurely, slowly, it was as if he had no intention moving from there. Jerking her head back she looked at him

"What are you doing?" Eva asked

"Kissing you. I was also enjoying it and was under the impression you were too"

"Uh how long will this foreplay last? I'm kind of in a hurry to move on to the next phase"

"What?"

"You heard me. Where's the bedroom? I think that once we're in there, you'll feel the need to hurry up a little. I don't want to rush you because I want this to last but I think we should speed up a little. It would also be so much better if we were naked. I can't wait to explore all this" she took a step back to take another look at him. Oh yes, she couldn't wait to lick every inch of this body. He looked good in a suit and Eva was sure he looked even better without it. Her eyes moved from his feet, up his legs and stopped at the visible bulge between his thighs.

"I'm going to go take a shower and change. I assume the bag you were carrying had some groceries in it. Look through the fridge and decide what you want for dinner. I'll be right down to start on it"

"Dinner? Are you deaf? I asked you where the bedroom was. Forget about dinner, there's something else that needs my attention more than food"

"I'm not deaf Eva but I'm starting to think that you need a medical check up"

"Why? Because I'm attracted to you and can't wait to see if I can fit you in my mouth?"

"Jesus Christ woman, I didn't invite you in for this. We're going to have dinner then I'll take you home. Okay?"

"Ah I get it now. You're a gentleman who wants to do things the right way. I understand Mason"

"Good. I'll just change and come right down" he turned to leave but she grabbed his arm

"At least let me take care of that" she said pointing to his erection "Hand or mouth? Which one do you prefer? Or both?"

"Let go of my hand and don't move until I disappear up the stairs"

"Oh come on, it won't take long. I'm sure we can delay dinner for a few minutes"

"No but thank you for the offer. Now stay" he told her hurrying up the stairs.

Irked, Eva murmured "I'm not a dog" but didn't follow him. Mainly because she didn't want to scare him away. They had just started dating. It would be a shame if he ran off because he thought she was really crazy.

Was it the first time a woman wanted him more than he wanted her? Wait, did she want him more than he wanted her? And if so, how could she turn the tables? There was nothing wrong with wanting him more but it would be better if he at least wanted her as much as she did him. Then she wouldn't have to look like a crazy person when she wanted to sleep with him on their first date. But then again it wasn't crazy at all. It was just that she'd never met a man like him. He was the quiet, broody type and she wanted to know how it would be like to make love to him. Fast and wild or slow and steady? Or both?

"Stay Eva. Don't follow him or you'll ruin everything" she told herself. Mason wasn't ready to be with her yet. If she rushed this, it might end up being a one night stand. She didn't want to have a one night stand with Mason Adler. So reluctantly, she did as he said. Took out the ingredients she'd brought and looked through the fridge. It was filled with food, unlike most bachelor's fridge. She wondered if he was the one who'd filled it or his mother. Crap, was he a mama's boy?

His house was too clean, the flowers had been fresh and his fridge was full of cooked and raw food. How many times a week did his mother visit him? Did she clean his house too? Do laundry while she was at it? Holy cow! Did she decide who did or didn't date her son? No way, he couldn't be a mama's boy. He was perfect. Manly, handsome, sexy, ran a fucking multi-billion dollar company and a good kisser. There was no way he could be a mama's boy. She'd frozen, bent over the fridge, so deep in thought that when he touched her shoulder she jumped.

"What are you doing?" he asked furrowing his eyebrows.

"Looking through the fridge for something to eat, I mean cook"

"What's gotten into you now?"

"Are you a mama's boy?" she blurted out then slapped a hand on her mouth. She shouldn't have asked that. It wasn't like he was going to answer her honestly anyway.

"Excuse me?"

"You know what, forget it. I honestly don't want to know the answer to that. Do you like pasta? Or rice? Which one will be ready faster?"

"Hold it right there Miss Becker. What made you think I'm a mama's boy?"

"Nothing. Don't get offended Mason. Let's just forget it and...."

"Because I think it's too soon to sleep with you?"

"About that, are you going to need your mother's permission before we, you know, do the deed?"

"Oh my God, what have I gotten myself into?" he asked looking at the ceiling. Eva bit her lip, afraid that she would ask another stupid question.

"I.... I'm sorry. I'm excited and when that happens, my brain to mouth filter stops working"

"Okay. You are going to sit down quietly and wait until I finish cooking. Then, we're going to talk. Not another word Eva" he added when she opened her mouth. Nodding, she sat on one of the long stools opposite him already forgetting about him being a mama's boy and wondering if he was that dominant in the bedroom. Something about him ordering her around turned her on. Would he punish her if she didn't listen to him?

An hour later, they were sitting at the dinner table enjoying lemon butter chicken with vegetables and wine. She had to agree that he was a good cook which reminded her about the mama's boy issue and successfully made her lose her appetite. Taking her glass, she gulped down the wine then reached for the bottle which Mason snatched away before she could get to it.

"Eva, I am not a mama's boy. I am an only child but once you get to know my mother, you'll understand why I can't be that. So stop drinking and eat or leave if you're done"

She gasped "Are you kicking me out of your house?"

"I invited you over for dinner. If you're done eating, shouldn't you leave?"

"Asshole. You didn't invite me over, I came here after inviting myself. And I am done eating so goodbye" she kicked her chair back, grabbed her purse and headed towards the front door. She heard him pushing his chair back and was surprised by how quick he was when she felt his arm go around her waist.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"You just told me to leave" she yelled.

"After you finished your dinner"

"I'm not a child that has to eat vegetables because you said so"

"I don't understand why you're angry" he told her chuckling making her angrier

"I'm not mad. You told me to leave so I'm leaving"

"Will you stop yelling? At this rate I'll end up deaf"

"Then let me go and I'll be out of your house"

"Did I give you permission to leave?" he asked turning her around to face him. Eva was ready to kick him in the balls but he lifted her up, threw her over his shoulder and marched upstairs. The view from there was magnificent but she was angry.

"Put me down you idiot. One second you tell me to leave and the next you have amnesia? God, you're such a jerk"

"Let's work out all this anger you're feeling. I know of a healthy way to manage it" he said spanking her. Eva stopped fighting him. Was he saying what she thought he was saying? She didn't have to wonder long. Mason walked through a door and the next thing she knew she was flying through the air. She landed on a mattress with him on top of her. Without pausing to think about what was happening, she flung her bag over his back while her hands went around his neck.

Eva forgot why she had been angry and got down to business. This was going to be a long night because she wasn't going to leave until he finished what he just started.
