Kelas XI-A kedatangan murid baru. Namanya Raga.
“OMG! Dia ganteng banget!”
"Mukanya cute kayak oppa-oppa Korea!
"Astaga! Bibirnya tebal dan sangat seksi!”
"Dia tinggi. Raga pantes jadi kapten basket sekolah!"
Sebenarnya, Amira pun mengakui. Semua orang bersemangat menyambut Raga, kecuali dia sendiri.
“Raga, kamu duduk di samping Amira, ya!"
Sayangnya, takdir suka bercanda.
Wajah Amira berubah berhiaskan senyum. Dia mengangguk patuh. “Iya, Bu.”
Saat bel berbunyi nyaring, Sonya segera mengakhiri pelajaran. “Kalian bisa terus kenalan dengan Raga. Kita lanjutkan pelajaran di minggu depan." Dia merapikan buku-buku di atas meja.
Amira beranjak saat melihat Sonya kesusahan membawa buku tugas para murid.
“Biar saya bantu, Bu!” Amira mengajukan diri.
“Makasih, Amira.” Sonya duduk di kursinya. "Kamu selalu bisa diandalkan.”
Amira mengangguk puas. “Sama-sama, Bu.”
“Sebentar!” Sonya meminta Amira mendekat. “Ibu titip ini untuk Raga.”
Amira mengangguk. Ia berjalan keluar. “Kasih sekarang? Apa nanti aja?”
Amira tersenyum simpul. “Kalau bisa nanti, kenapa harus sekarang?”
Lagipula, Raga bukan termasuk orang yang menjadi prioritas utama Amira. Jadi, dia tidak begitu peduli.
Amira tersenyum lebar.
“Kenapa?” Amira mendapati Rachel tersungkur dari kursinya. “Siapa yang ngelakuin ini?”
Suasana kelas menjadi hening.
Amira masih mencoba mencari akar masalah, tapi kursinya baik-baik saja.
Dia jatuh sendiri.”
Amira menatap Raga lekat. “Masa, sih?”
Tanpa disadari, Amira dan Raga mulai beradu argumen. Amira mencurigai Raga.
Raga emosi. “Lo nuduh gue?!"
Amira mengelak. "Nggak, gue cumaー"
Amira belum selesai bicara, tetapi Raga menyelanya. Suasana di dalam kelas memanas.
"Lo tau, nggak? Nuduh tanpa bukti termasuk tindakan kriminal. Gue bisa nuntut lo, kasus pencemaran nama baik.”
Amira berjengit. Raga tiba-tiba saja mengancam padahal ia belum sampai menuduh.
“Duh!” Amira mengeluh keras. Ia malas beranjak. “Tolong ambilin, dong!”
Raga berdecak, tapi tetap mengambilkan penghapusnya.
Beatrice POVI was anxious and uneasy when Chris left after picking up the pregnancy test I'd given him. Perhaps that would be an excuse for him to take responsibility for marrying me. If I were in Adelle's position, I'd be furious and devastated. I couldn't imagine her meeting me. No woman wants their marriage to fall apart. The blame often falls on the woman who comes between them. Yet, it's the man who always has the power to make women submit to him. "Mom, I'm out of base color. Can I go shopping alone?" "No, Mom will take you. We can take a taxi together to a more well-stocked store." I wouldn't let Mia go alone. Although I didn't have a car because Chris hadn't permitted me to drive it. The only way to get there was by taxi. Chris did tell me to call if I needed anything. Someone would buy it for me. But I didn't want to bother anyone else. Mia's wants are sometimes hard to predict. If something is wrong or lacking, she'll look for another one. Pity for someone who seeks ac
Chris POVI thought it would not be easy to persuade Mia to accept me, but it turns out she shares her mother's personality. Her mind is quick to open to anything that can be accepted rationally. Unlike the thinking of a child her age, whose ego might be too inflated. She asked, "Why did my mother say you were dead?" I answered, "Because she hates me. She left me before I knew she was pregnant. Your Mom chose not to compete with the woman I was arranged to marry. Life is sometimes cruel, honey. Some people try to get what they want without considering the consequences, and others prefer to play it safe. Your mom was afraid you would be abandoned before birth." I said a little story drama. So she wouldn't blame her mother and me. So that one day she would accept her younger siblings. She was old enough to absorb every word I said.In the future, if she's criticized by someone who knows her, she'll answer based on what she knows, except for her mother and me, who have an affair. Tha
Beatrice POVMia looked at me then turned to Chris, who was trying to coax her into talking. We'd agreed not to reveal the truth, but he'd broken his promise. I wanted to get angry, but then Mia would ask me lots of questions. "Bea, should we start packing all this stuff? We probably won't be done until morning." Cindy asked me. I sighed heavily. I couldn't deny the facts before Mia's eyes any longer. She wanted a father, and now he was right in front of her. I grabbed my suitcase and went into the room with Cindy. She told me that Mia had begun to want to learn about her father's family history. She never knew Chris was her father because the internet could corrupt the information I gave her. "Let them get to know each other. Mia's no longer an ignorant baby. Your daughter is very critical in figuring out what's good for her. And you've always covered it up. You thought she'd stop, but she hasn't. She's actually trying to find out who her father is and where her family is."Taking
Chris PovI called my father to negotiate a divorce between him and Beatrice. At first, he was still angry because he thought a dead woman wouldn't need a divorce anymore. But I reasoned, "She has a young daughter. She needs proof that her mother was divorced when she died giving birth to her. She needs to get her rights to the farmland that my father stole with the help of Beatrice's friend." "How dare you talk to me like that, Chris! I bought that land from Deasy, who betrayed her friend. If you want to file, it's against Daisy, not me. If that's my daughter then she should be with me. Bring her here" "Oh yes, but you're involved because I have a recording of Daisy saying that you persuaded her and explained it was in exchange for buying Beatrice a yacht.""Damn woman, how dare she slander me! She still denied her wrongdoing."My father never admitted his mistakes. He always thought he was the only one in the world, and his unreasonable actions were often seen as punishment for th
Chris POVBefore going home, I had breakfast with my family. Yola was leaving for Paris today for her honeymoon. Dad still enjoyed chatting with Elmo about many things. He wasn't as warm as he was when he became a father. But I'm grateful now that he's been a good grandfather. "When you grow up, y
Chris POVBefore heading to Oscar's house, I asked my men to protect my location. I wasn't carrying my phone, but rather my new subordinate's. My father and Adelle would definitely work together to tap my phone and pinpoint my location.I was given a cleaning uniform complete with a hat. This would
Christopher POVTo cover Adelle's suspicions, I returned to Albany on a chartered flight. She wouldn't be able to find the departure route from the airline data at the airport. I would do anything to conceal Beatrice's whereabouts. I purposely placed her in Louisiana to be closer to me. Away from m
Beatrice POVI'm trying to like this town. The lucrative cafe business could even allow me to buy a farm in Alabama. I want to move there. The agriculture there is thriving. I miss the farm atmosphere, and it might not be as beautiful as my village. At least Mia can relate to me. Mia grows to be a
