CHAPTER THIRTY.The rest of the week went by with Adele not seeing Jamal like she had requested. She stayed in the hospital to be monitored, while Jamal continued with his work. He only came to see her when she was fast asleep so she wouldn't see him and get upset. One day, when he had gone to see her, the doctor called into his office and told him about Adele's situation. He had said that Adele had injured her uterus as a result of the miscarriage and it was almost impossible for her to conceive again. When Jamal got home that night, he didn't sleep. CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE.The same calm atmosphere was maintained between Adele and Jamal for the rest of the week. Adele did not want to see Jamal most of the time and Jamal made sure to make himself less available in her presence. Grandma tried her best to talk to them, but Adele had already made up her mind. Her friend Linda, successfully found the house and paid the rent. Adele had also found a way to furnish the house, all without Jamal's knowledge. Everything was set and now, all she had to do was think of a way to escape his claws. She knew Jamal had always wanted to keep their marriage a secret from the world, so she intended to use that fact to blackmail him once she escaped and he tried to forcefully bring her back home. CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO.Jamal kept thinking about Adele throughout his meeting. Nothing the directors were saying made any sense to him. All he wanted was for them to finish talking so he would end the meeting and go meet Adele at Monteplaza.He had made a special reservation at the lounge so they could eat and spend some time together. Adele had been very quiet and reserved ever since she got back from the hospital and he hated it, but he understood her that's why he made sure he gave her the space she needed.He loved his wife and he wanted them to be close again. CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE.The next thing on Adele's to do list was to apply for a job. She had gone shopping for new clothes, a new phone and some groceries and now she was home in her apartment. Before going shopping, she had met up with Linda, who gave her the keys to her house.She was very proud of all that she had managed to do and prayed to God to give her the strength to move on from Jamal and their failed marriage. She knew Jamal would never take her request for a divorce seriously if she kept living under his roof, but he would when she moved out and started living on her own because she was convinced that he did not like her one bit.During her pregnancy, she fell in love with Jamal and that was one reason why she craved his attention and almost died every time she saw him flirting with Danielle. CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR.Jamal was dressing for work that morning when he heard a knock on his room door. He stepped out of the closet to open it and he was flabbergasted to see his father standing outside.He could not remember the last time his father came over to his room. Jamal's secretary apologized as she rushed into Jamal's office and shortly after, Danielle waltzed in looking all furious. His heart was still palpating hard in his chest.He had known she would think of filing for a divorce, but he didn't know it would be so soon. The fact that Adele was so mad at him to the extent that she wanted to divorce him left him completely devastated.He loved Adele and he wanted to be with her. He knew he had made a lot of fatal errors, but he was ready to change his ways and do all he could to amend things between them. All he needed from Adele was a second chance and he was going to make sure she did not regret it.When he stepped out of his car, he handed over his keys to the parking caker and walked into the house.
