Rose’s POV:

SWOOSH!

The sound itself was almost silent, but knowing that what she was doing could get her burned at a stake, Rose was very alert.

And even a silent sound like that tore through the air like a blade.

The sharp, unnatural rustle of a cloak completely split the quiet harmony of the creek. Rose’s hands, in motion, froze, she stopped just above the linen she was currently drying.

Her expression also froze, as a deep pang of fear began to rush out within her.

She had checked, twice.

And she hadn’t just used her normal sight, she had also used weaver-sight and even though her range was only ten meters, she was at least able to differentiate auras from at least double that.

And no matter how she checked, she hadn’t spotted any creature, human or animal.

Yet, the sound she had just heard told an entirely different story.

Slowly, almost against her will, Rose took a deep breath and snapped her head backwards, shock etched on her face.

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   SEEING A GHOST

Shadow’s POV: The shadows of the oak trees around her whispered into the wind.Their sound cloaked her movements as the shadow moved between trees like smoke. Her weaver cloak clung heavily to her short, tiny frame, the silver runes making her meld into the dark shadows of every tree she passed through. Her bare feet padded softly around some twigs and fallen leaves as she actually tried, for what felt like the first time in decades, to trail her target. As she moved, she gritted her teeth in annoyance. She hated this job, and every single step she took reminded her of that fact. She should not have been here, she should have been back in the clawhold, with her family. Not out in a damp forest spying and hiding like some common thief. And yet, no matter how much she complained, here she was, still forced into the role of an observer. All of this almost made her regret her decision to report her discovery to the matrons. When she had made the report of Aria being a weaver to the counc

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   LUNCH WITH HER MATE

The grand doors of her throne room swung wide open with a groan as Aria stepped inside. Her leather boots clicked loudly against the polished marble floors; the sound echoed through the entire room. Her mate, Lucien, sat on his throne, his posture composed as his eyes darted from the cluster of elders in front of him to the door. The air in the throne room grew still and the voices of the elders hushed the moment they all noticed Aria walking in.Seemingly in perfect unison, each one of the elders froze. Their backs straightened as a flicker of raw emotion passed through their faces. Without missing a beat, they all turned their gazes down. Then, one by one, they all turned towards her and bowed. Their bows were so deep that it actually looked painful to Aria.Immediately they were sure that she had acknowledged them, they all began to look for excuses in order to depart the throne room.“My luna.” One of the elders took a step forward, his head still bowed, “Forgive us, but we must a

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   A VOW OF REVENGE

Sydney’s POV: Sydney’s eyes fluttered open, she groaned loudly as she came awake to the world spinning around her. Heat burned across her cheeks as she begrudginglytried to get on her feet, shame pricking her body as she turned around to stare at the confused expression of her friend. The first thing she felt when she woke up was her body shaking vigorously. Apparently, her friend had been trying to revive her for the last couple of minutes.“Wake up, Syd.” her friend hissed as fear filled her voice, “Wake up,”As Sydney came to and realized that she was still lying in the middle of the street, fury filled her body. She slapped the hand of her friend away from her with a snarl.“Get your filthy paws off me, you useless bitch.” she growled in anger, her voice cracking through the street like a whip, filled with raw fury as she glared at her friend with a sharp steely gaze. She kept on pushing herself up, her legs wobbling at first, until pride forced her to steady her stance.Sydney’s

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   SYDNEY'S RAGE

Aria stormed out of the hut, letting the creaky brittle door slam shut behind her. Her soft luxurious cloak whipped the air behind her, her heart beat still pounding hard in her ears from her clash against the old matron.Behind her, the door sprung open as Rose rushed out, and her legs moved fast as she tried to catch up to Aria. She called out in a soft, hesitant voice when she realized that no matter how fast she moved, she was not able to catch up to her friend.“Aria, please wait -” her voice was laced with a note of panic,The sound of her friend’s voice made Aria freeze in place. She slowed, exhaling hard as she slowly turned around to face Rose. Her eyes twitched when she saw the guilt clearly etched on the face of her friend. “Don’t Rose, I’m not angry with you,” she said softly, speaking up before the apology she knew was about to leave her lips. “I’m only angry with Lucille and I still believe you did the right thing by bringing me to meet up with her, I needed to speak wit

  • THE BROKEN LUNA: MATED TO THE CRIPPLED ALPHA   STORMING OFF

Aria blinked at Lucille’s statement,Once again, she glanced around the room before turning her gaze towards the stool that had magically appeared besides her. She lowered herself onto the stool with widened eyes. The sheer magnitude of what had just happened was not lost on her. Lucille had just moved the stools without a single indication of movement. She had been watching the woman’s fingers like a hawk, but she could see no visible threads, no gestures of force, just a slight flick of her fingers. The stools had simply obeyed her, as if gravity itself was scared of her. That was something Aria needed to learn. For a very brief moment, as Rose sat down beside her, Aria could only stare. If the old matron could command the weave so easily and without any obvious movements, then what level of power did she have? And should someone like that be allowed to stay so close to the castle? When she spoke, her words came out even sharper than she had originally intended. Her boiling emotions
