Raina

Tara’s porch light flicked on just as my paw touched the first step. The shift back to human tore a groan from my throat—every bruise screaming for attention

Tara opened the door, one look at me and she froze.

“Raina,” she whispered. “What happened?”

Her voice shook with anger as her eyes scanned my face, taking in the swelling on my cheek, the bruises on my arm. I didn’t say a word. I didn’t need to. She already knew.

She pulled me inside and slammed the door shut behind me. “Did he do this again? Was it Kael? Selene?”

I sank onto her couch and stared blankly at the wall. I didn’t have the energy to answer.

Tara paced, fists clenched. “I swear to the moon, I’m going to kill them. I’ll burn their damn house down.”

“You can’t,” I said quietly. “We both know how this works. If you go against them, it’ll fall back on you.”

“But they hurt you,” she snapped, her voice breaking. “And Selene? That backstabbing witch—Raina, I should’ve done more. I was busy chasing clout and I left you to drown.”

I didn’t respond. I didn’t even know what to say. I was numb.

She came back with a cup of tea—hot, bitter, and herbal. “Here. Drink. It'll help.”

I took a sip out of habit. The warmth hit my stomach and spread through my body like slow fire. Almost immediately, the throbbing in my head eased. The aches in my ribs softened. I looked down—bruises that had been deep purple just minutes ago were already fading.

Tara’s eyes widened. “No way. That tea’s not that good.”

“I inherited healing abilities,” I murmured. “From my mom.”

“That’s insane,” she said, genuinely amazed. “You’re gifted. Like really gifted.”

“I don’t use it,” I said. “I don’t want Selene to feel… threatened. Again.”

Tara scoffed. “Threatened? She’s already got your mate, your room, your life. What more does she want—your soul?”

I gave a weak laugh, but my chest still felt heavy.

“You need a break,” Tara said. “Let’s go out. Clear your head.”

“I don’t have the energy—”

“It’s a masquerade party,” she interrupted. “No one will even recognize you.”

I hesitated.

“You can be someone else for a few hours. No Kael. No Selene. No past. Just music, masks, and a little freedom.”

I sighed. “One hour.”

Tara grinned. “Deal.”

---

The red dress she gave me hugged every curve. It was bold, revealing, and so unlike me—but for once, I didn’t care. I tied on my mask and looked in the mirror.

I didn’t see a broken girl anymore. I saw someone new. Someone rising.

We pulled up in one of Tara’s flashy rides, the venue already pulsing with energy. Music thumped through the walls. Lights danced across the floor.

Inside, the party was already in full swing—laughing, flirting, drinking. Everyone was masked, everyone anonymous. Tara dragged me into the VVIP lounge and handed me a champagne glass.

“You’re safe here,” she whispered. “Relax.”

Then she disappeared to go flirt with some guy in a suit who clearly paid her rent.

I was alone.

I took a sip of my drink, trying to blend in, but I could feel eyes on me.

And then, I felt him.

I turned. And saw him.

Across the room, standing by the bar like he owned it.

Tall. Broad. Dressed in black. His mask was simple—sleek, matte black with sharp silver accents. It covered half his face, but I could still see the stubble on his jaw, the slight part of his lips.

Something in me stirred. No, ignited.

My breath hitched.

My skin flushed.

Every part of my body screamed for his attention.

He didn’t move. Didn’t smile. He just watched me.

And the craziest part? I felt like I already knew him.

Like I’d been waiting for him all along.

No, stop. I already had a mate. A cruel, brutal one. I wasn’t supposed to feel this way. Not again. Not ever.

But my body didn’t care.

My heart raced. My thighs pressed together. I was hot. Burning. Wet.

I swallowed hard and looked away, trying to cool down. Tried to think. Breathe.

Then, suddenly, I heard a voice in my head.

Come to me.

I froze.

I looked up.

It was him. He hadn’t moved, hadn’t opened his mouth—but I heard it. Felt it. The bond.

Mates?

No. That wasn’t possible. That couldn’t be. Not again.

I stood, legs shaky, and made my way toward the side exit. My heels echoed on the marble floor as I walked, pretending I wasn’t falling apart inside.

Outside, the cold air slapped my skin. I leaned against the wall, trying to steady my breathing. My body was still humming with heat, my mind spinning.

Then I heard footsteps.

I didn’t have to turn around to know it was him.

He stopped behind me. I could feel the warmth of his presence even before I saw his face.

I turned slowly, heart in my throat.

He didn’t speak. He didn’t need to.

His scent hit me first—dark, woody, crisp with something ancient buried in it. My wolf purred at the smell. She wanted to curl up in it. Melt into it.

He stepped forward.

Our eyes locked.

His were silver-gray. Piercing. Like he could see through every mask I’d ever worn.

And somehow… I didn’t feel afraid.

I felt seen.

Come with me, his voice whispered again—inside my head, not aloud.

And I did.

I followed him without asking where. Without asking why.

Because in that moment, it didn’t matter who he was.

All that mattered was how he made me feel—alive. Like I wasn’t broken. Like maybe I never was.

Kael’s POVIt took me weeks to find her.Every false lead only stoked the fire in my chest. Every dead end, every whisper from rogues and old healers, every wrong turn—I followed them all. I told myself it was for closure. Maybe an apology. But that was a lie.I needed to see her. I needed to make sure she was okay. And then I saw Tara.Tara was always near Raina.I didn’t approach them. I knew I wasn’t welcome. Instead, I followed from a distance. I watched from behind the trees as they laughed, cooked, danced barefoot under the twilight.I had never seen Raina so… happy. She looked free. Full of light. She smiled without restraint, her eyes bright with joy I hadn’t known she could hold. And for a second, I almost turned away. I didn’t want to disturb that peace. I didn’t deserve to.Then the dogs came.Three massive ones, growling, foaming at the mouth. But they weren’t dogs. They shattered the kitchen window and leaped inside.Rogues.My blood turned to ice.I ran before I could ev

LUCIEN POV “To love her is to burn and never want the fire to go out.”---Immediately I saw Thorne off, I didn’t even head inside. My body moved on instinct.I saddled the horse and rode out, my mind already ahead of me—racing straight to her. To Raina.Maybe I’d give her the horse. She deserved a gift. She deserved the damn world. She made me feel… like a man again. Not a title. Not a throne.Just Lucien. Hers. The thought alone had me smiling like a fool.“Shit, I need to piss,” I muttered to the horse, chuckling. I pulled the reins gently and dismounted. “Stay here, yeah?” I patted the horse's side and tied him to a tree near a bush.I walked in, unbuckled my belt, and relieved myself. The trees rustled slightly. Then a twig snapped. My head jerked around. My eyes narrowed. Another low grunt came from my horse—agitated.I zipped up and stalked back.“Who’s trying to steal you?” I whispered, scanning the thicket. No one.But then, something caught my eye in the grass. A glint. A s

SELENE POV I adjusted the soft pearl pin in my hair as I stood just beyond the council chamber doors, a poised smile on my lips. My palms, however, were damp. I'd been waiting all day for the meeting to end.Any moment now…I could already hear their footsteps approaching. The heavy wooden doors creaked open, and the Elders began filing out in their long robes, each offering me warm smiles and nods of approval.“Lady Selene,” Elder Morak said, stopping before me. “That was an impressive speech you gave last week. I must admit, we’ve all been quite taken by your composure and poise.”I smiled demurely. “Thank you, Elder.”Another Elder stepped forward. “We believe you’ll make a fine Luna beside King Lucien. Very soon, we hope.”“I would be honored,” I replied sweetly, lowering my eyes.Elder Morak patted my shoulder. “Don’t worry, child. The formal announcement is only a matter of time. We cannot wait to see you seated where you belong.”Their words danced around me like golden music.

RAINA POV The darkness pressed in tight around me. The air was still, heavy, too quiet. I took a cautious step back, my voice barely above a whisper. “Who’s there?” No answer. My heart thundered in my chest, and I turned, ready to bolt— A heavy weight slammed into me from the side. “Ah!” I gasped, my body colliding with the ground. I fought back instinctively, claws partially shifting, panic rising—until I heard a voice. “Damn girl, chill! It’s me!” I froze. “Tara?!” She rolled off me, laughing, her wild curls bouncing as she sat up. “Hey girl, wassup?” “You scared the living hell out of me!” I swatted her arm, then pulled her into a tight hug. We both burst into laughter, clinging to each other like two long-lost souls. “Where the hell have you been?” I asked, pulling back. “I should be asking you that,” she grinned. “But let me go first. I came back from Las Cruces.” My eyes widened. “Las Cruces? As in, the pack near the border? You were serious abou

  • THE BROKEN LUNA'S REVENGE:FATED TO MY SISTER'S MATE    CHAPTER 16

KAEL POV The silence in my room was too loud. It always was these days. I sat at the edge of my bed, fingers gripping the edge of my knees, eyes fixed on the empty space in front of me. Nothing made sense anymore. Not my heart. Not my choices. Not even the woman I thought I loved. Selene. We had history. Real history. Love carved into time itself. Everyone knew it. We were the perfect pair. So why did it all feel wrong? Why did my wolf feel… incomplete? Why was Raina still crawling through my mind like a ghost that refused to leave? I ran a hand down my face and leaned forward, elbows on my knees. Where did it all go wrong? --- I was nine when I arrived at the Frostfang Pack. Filthy. Angry. Alone. I don’t remember my parents' faces. Just smoke. Screams. Blood. The rogues tore through our village like fire, and I was the only one left standing. Dazed. Burned. Starving. Gamma Darius found me and took me in. Said I had the eyes of a survivor. War school harde

  • THE BROKEN LUNA'S REVENGE:FATED TO MY SISTER'S MATE    CHAPTER 15

RAINA POV I heard the crashing of plates. It jolted me from my half-sleep. I blinked, dazed, cold air seeping through the cracks in the wall. Another crash. Another loud curse. My tiny fingers curled around the edge of the blanket. I stood. Slow. Careful. I crept out of the room and pushed the door open just a crack. My father stood in the kitchen, swaying. Drunk again. His back was to me, and broken ceramic scattered across the floor. His shoulders were tense. His fists, clenched. Then—he turned. At the sound of the creaking door. His eyes found me like a curse latching onto a target. "You." My stomach twisted. "You caused this!" he roared and staggered toward me. I backed up, but not fast enough. His hand fisted my hair, yanking me forward so hard my neck snapped sideways. I cried out, legs scrambling. "You little stain!" he barked. He dragged me through the hallway, my feet barely touching the ground. My scalp burned. My chest heaved with sobs. We reac
