The sun hitting my eye made me squint as I woke up, instinctively I attempted to get up to close the blinds but the sharp pain that preceded my quick reaction sent me rolling to the ground. My guts felt like they were on fire, I then remembered of course they were on fire I had just been shot some hours ago.

I must have passed out, I concluded as I picked myself off the floor to look around the room. I recognized the room of this safe house I had bought some years back. The safe houses had become a lot over the years due to my paranoia that I had forgotten how some of them even looked. Wait a minute this was not where we were when the shooting happened so how did we end up here?

Looking down at my injury as I sat at the edge of the bed I realized this just confirmed my theory, it was not yet my time to die.
