As I pushed my way into the house trying desperately not to make any noise I couldn’t help but think about the fact that this was how every horror movie went, a suspicious situation that had no business being investigated and then poof just like that, dead. With every step I took my trembling got worse.I remembered I kept two bats in the house, one directly by my bed just in the unlikely event an intruder broke in when I slept in the night I’d at least see something I could use to defend myself with and one just a few steps away from the door. The meeting had been raging on for the past 10 mins with just business being discussed and nobody going straight to why they were all gathered here even though they all knew exactly what the meeting was for.With every passing minute Alejandro’s irritation grew, it was evident from the way his legs vibrated underneath the table and despite Mateo’s gentle “calm down” whispers in his ear it still didn’t seem to change anything.
