Pov: Maddison.

I ran into Mr Winston during the breakfast buffet.

I saw him approaching me and turned around, walking the other way, intent on avoiding him.

"Maddison!" I heard him calling out to me.

I squeezed my eyes shut and prayed to every angel and celestial being out there to help me avoid this. To help me avoid meeting him. To help avoid seeing his handsome fucking face.

Because it's not fair! It's not fair he has to affect me like this! It's not fair that I cried myself to sleep that night over a broken heart like I was in fucking highschool! It's not fair at all.

His hands clasped around my wrist.

I froze.

I am a block of ice. A statue built of stone. I couldn't move even if I tried.

"I was calling you!"

I squeezed my eyes tighter.

His voice... Did always sound sooo... Good? Deep and smooth and sexy.

"I didn't hear you," I choked out, my knees, threatening to give out beneath me.
