The Vanderbilt sham

Pov: Maddison

I was still spitting and cursing by the time I reached the door to my room. I searched my pockets for my key card, found it and slid it across the slot and pushed the door open, muttering swear words and choice expletives at a certain grey eyed demon.

I crashed into my bed and took up a pillow, screaming into it for a straight one minute.

"Woah. Who got on your bad side?" A voice chuckled close by.

I looked up at Shawn, smiling down gently on me.

I wiped an embarrassed arm across my face self–consciously, wiping my tears. "What are you doing here? How did you get in here?"

"How I got in here, the door was wide open," he pointed to the door, "what I'm doing here..." He shoved his hands in his pockets, appearing bashful. "I was going out with some of my friends later tonight, for a drink at this exclusive night club. I wanted to check in and see if you would like to come with us. You look like you could use a good night out."

I looked up apologetically
