The city always felt different when Nicholas was involved. I knew him wanting to meet up was not a request and I didn’t have any choice.

I arrived at one of his bars. I got out of the car and stepped in. A man in a black suit walked up to me. “Mr. Nicholas is expecting you, right this way,” he said as he led me to a secluded office area.

I pushed open the door and Nicholas sat behind his desk, a wild smile on his lips. “James, it is such a beautiful night, wouldn’t you agree?”
