STELLA

"James, I'm not a kid, you know that, right?" I said in between giggles as he sat at the edge of the bed, reading from his phone dramatically like he was performing on stage. I couldn't help how hard I was laughing.

"Oh, come on," he grinned. "Stop pretending like you don't enjoy it."

I threw a pillow at him. "I don't enjoy it," I said teasingly. "Do you need me to say it in Spanish?"

"You said that yesterday too, but you fell asleep in my arms."

"No, I didn't," I said, still giggling, and he gasped dramatically, laughter rumbling from his chest. "Just hold me, James. That's all I want."

I lied... I actually did enjoy him reading me bedtime stories.

The soft sound of our laughter filled the room, making it feel warm almost perfect. I felt so happy, but whenever my thoughts traveled back to Sheila, it broke my heart, and I hadn't told James yet. He started reading anyway, his voice calm and deep the kind that could literally make anything sound good.

I lay back, snugglin

JAMESThe morning of our trip to London started like every other morning. She didn’t want to get out of bed; she was curled up in the blanket, covering herself all the way to her head.I leaned against the door frame watching her. I knew she wasn’t asleep, but standing up was what killed her she just wanted to stay in bed.“You know, Stella,” I said, smirking, “you can take all the time you want. It’s not like we’re catching a flight anyway.”She peeked through the blanket, one eye open. “What’s that supposed to mean? How are we going to get there?”“It means,” I said, walking towards her to brush a strand of hair from her face, “we’re flying private, so you can sleep for as long as you want. We leave when you’re ready.”That got her attention quicker than I thought. “Flying private?” She raised a brow. “How? Like... do you mean first class or something?”“Nope. I mean a private jet.”“James, stop it. You don’t have a private jet. We’ve been together for months now if you did, I’d kno

STELLAIt had been a couple of days since Christmas, and I still couldn't stop staring at my hand. It just felt so unreal. The diamond caught every bit of light in the room, and it shined so beautifully like it had a life of its own. Anytime it sparkled, I smiled like an idiot.“Baby, if you keep looking at the ring like it’s going to disappear, it probably would,” James’s voice came from behind me, amusement dripping from it.I jumped a little, quickly turning to find him leaning against the door frame, arms crossed, a smug grin on his smug little face.“I wasn’t looking at it again,” I quickly tried to sound casual, but even I could hear the lie in my own voice. He chuckled before walking closer until I could perceive his cologne clean and sharp and ridiculously distracting. “You’ve been staring at the ring for minutes straight. Don’t try to deny it, I saw you. I’m starting to think you’re forgetting about me little by little until you completely forget.”I rolled my eyes, laughing.

STELLA“Will you, Stella Hart, make me the happiest man alive?” As he spoke, his voice shook. I just kept my hands over my mouth, tears streaming down my eyes before I could stop them. The room was completely quiet. My heart was racing so fast it felt like it was about to explode.I didn’t say a word. I slowly walked towards him and stretched out my hand, tears covering my face. Claps and cheers rippled through the crowd. He slid the ring onto my finger, his hands trembling. I’d never seen James so nervous. When our eyes met, it felt like I was seeing him for the first time. All the noise melted into the background—it was just me and him. This was our moment.“Yes,” I said. The words barely came out through the tears. I couldn’t stop myself from crying. “Yes, James... I’ll marry you.”Clapping erupted through the air again. People were shouting, his mom was crying, and someone popped champagne in the background. But I didn’t care. All I could see right now was him only him.James stoo

STELLAIt was finally Christmas. The entire house was decorated in gold and red, and I made sure our room looked like Santa’s workshop. The scent of roasted turkey floated in the air.Lights were coming from everywhere, and as much as I loved spending time in James’s mom’s place, I kinda missed the penthouse. But she begged us to sleep over and wake up as one big happy family. All through last night, I couldn’t sleep. I kept tossing and turning. Today was the day I would actually tell James about us having a baby. I didn’t know how the hell he was going to react, but right now, I was only hoping for the best.I watched him sleep he looked so peaceful. I didn’t know how it was possible for a man to not only be handsome but also beautiful. I couldn’t stop myself; I ran a hand down his face. “I can’t believe you’re mine,” I whispered.“I’ll… always be yours, princess,” he said, eyes still closed, his voice sleepy.Slowly, he opened his eyes. “Merry Christmas, baby,” he murmured.“Merry C

  • THE CEO’S DIRTY SECRET   CHAPTER 099

JAMES The street was quiet except for the occasional sound of passing tires. My headlights were off I wasn’t sure she was going to come, and I wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t. The engine hummed softly as my fingers tapped against the steering wheel. Then, without so much as a knock, the door to the passenger seat opened. She slid in gracefully, her perfume instantly filling the air. It was light, sharp, and nothing short of expensive—Natalia Alton. The moment her name crossed my mind, my jaw tightened. Even after all these years, she hadn’t changed. She had on a long black coat her signature look. Her black hair fell down her shoulders in soft waves, catching what little light there was. She turned to me, her expression unreadable at first, then slowly her lips curved into a small smile. “I can’t believe you actually called,” she said, her tone half teasing, half serious. I gave a quiet chuckle. “And I can’t believe you actually came, Talie.” She smiled, her cheeks turning sl

  • THE CEO’S DIRTY SECRET   CHAPTER 098

STELLA The news hadn’t fully sunk in. Even with it being said I was pregnant. Actually pregnant. There was a life growing inside of me. I hadn’t told anyone yet, not even James. I wanted to tell Sheila so badly, but then she stopped talking to me, and I wasn’t even sure if we were still friends. The thought of it made me so sad. But instead of dwelling on thoughts that would drain me, I threw myself into something else—helping James’s mom prepare for Christmas. James had told me how much she loved throwing Christmas parties. The house smelled like a candy store cinnamon and vanilla and soft holiday music played in the background. Christmas was in two days, and her house was completely decorated like a scene out of a Christmas movie. “Stella dear, would you please pass me the mixing bowl?” James’s mother said, her sweet voice snapping me back to reality. “Oh yes, of course,” I said softly, quickly passing it over. I’d been spacing out ever so often, and I wasn’t sure what was caus
