CHAPTER 18

Harold's POV.

The door pulled open and the familiar face of my cousin appeared, before she stepped in fully, a charming smile on her face.

“Matilda,” I couldn't help pushing myself up my chair so I could get around to pull her into an embrace, my face mimicking her smile.

“Harold,” She beamed as I closed the gap between us, and my hand went around her, pulling her in for an embrace. Her head fell on my shoulder and I gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze.

“How was your trip?” I asked as I pulled out of the embrace, leading her with me to one of the available chairs so she could take her seat.

“Splendid,” She beamed and I found myself nodding. I moved to a safe in my office and grabbed a bottle of wine with two glasses. I poured out the wine for her while she watched me.

“So, tell me about it,” I demanded with a small smile as I handed her a glass of wine. I went around and took my seat.
