'So this is what she looks like in person?'

The man stared her down, and she looked away, intimidated.

Why didn't Louis tell her how intimidating the man looked?

She could not belief she stood before a man who she had seen only few times on TV or in some magazines in the the library.

She was in a rich politician's house.

There was another woman at the table. She had briefly looked up and returned back to her meal, quietly.

Louis did not act like there was another person on the table. Louis nodded to his father's question and urged Wendy with his hand on her bare back to say something.

Wendy did not know what to say to the man. So she went with an opening greeting.

'Good day, sir.' She greeted.

'You know I want to be mayor right?' He asked. 'Call me Mayor. ' He ordered after Wendy nodded.

'Good day, Mayor.' She repeated, tensed under his gaze.

'Good day, lady. So who are you?'

The question threw her off. Didn't he know who she was before he invited her to his house?
