Kael’s POV

This was the best thing to happen to my wolf. He had been pacing so fast in my head while I looked at Elara, lying in the infirmary. I pushed the hair off her face and tucked it behind her ears.

I could feel the spark flow through my veins and my wolf howled loudly in my ears.

“Finally, you are here.”

I had always felt something special for Elara, and now I knew why. She was my other half—it was glaringly obvious.

I needed to get everything settled and make this official. She was mine, and I wasn’t ever going to let her go.

The door to the infirmary swung open. I looked up to see Storm, Milo, and Jake walking in. Storm wore his usual white lab coat and had his stethoscope around his neck.

“Is she up?” he asked as he walked closer to her. He picked up her hand, and my wolf growled at him.

They all stared at me like I had gone crazy.

I pulled myself back. “Sorry… you know how possessive mates can be. I’ll try to control it. You can continue.”

Storm nodded. He continued his ch

  • THE COLD WOLF'S MATE    CHAPTER SEVENTY-SEVEN

Kael’s POVThe night sky was a black canvas, painted with silver stars that mocked my unease. My wolf, Midnight, prowled in the cage of my chest, restless. Elara still lay in the infirmary, unmoving, her wolf slowly merging with her fragile body. The bond between us thrummed in my veins like wildfire, but another weight pressed on me—the council. Before I could even sit down to plan our next moves, the High Priestess requested my presence. I didn’t like it. She rarely asked unless it was important—or bad.I couldn’t refuse. The temple smelled of sage, ash, and burning herbs. The High Priestess stood in the center, her silver robes flowing like smoke. Her eyes glowed faintly white—I already knew she had been communing with the goddess.“Alpha Kael,” she said softly, though her voice carried the weight of thunder. “You walk with both pride and shadow tonight.”I clenched my fists. “If this is about Elara, she’s fine. She just needs time.”Her gaze cut through me, sharp and unyielding. “

  • THE COLD WOLF'S MATE    CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE

Liora’s POVThe pack was still drunk on their howls. Their voices, thunderous and unified, rattled through the clearing as though they had forgotten who I was. Forgotten that I had stood by Kael long before this lowborn omega clawed her way into our world.Every face glowed with devotion as they bowed to her.Not me.Her.Elara, limp in Kael’s arms, silver fire still trailing faintly around her like a halo, as if the goddess herself had anointed her. The glow of her newly awakened wolf shimmered in the air, palpable, undeniable.I hated her for it.And worse—I hated Kael for the look on his face.Awe. Fierce pride. A hunger that wasn’t only desire but belonging, the kind I had begged, bled, and bartered for—and never once received. My lips stretched into a smile so sharp it almost cut my skin. If anyone saw the twist of my fingers behind my back, the way my nails carved crescents into my palms, they might have known how false it was.But I was Luna. I had been trained for this. To sm

  • THE COLD WOLF'S MATE    CHAPTER SEVENTY-FOUR

Liora’s POVThe walls were closing in on me.Not literally, but that’s how it felt being locked in this cursed room with Nika, while outside the air vibrated with chants, drums, and the unmistakable energy of the Blue Moon ritual. Every thud of the priestess’s drum rattled through my bones, reminding me that something monumental was happening, without me.I clawed at the barrier shimmering faintly over the doorway. A translucent veil, pulsing with a dull violet glow, hummed whenever I touched it. It wasn’t a lock one could pick. It was some kind spell, it was old, deliberate, and meant to keep us exactly where we were.“Damn it!” I hissed, striking it with a burst of my own magic. Sparks danced but fizzled almost instantly, leaving me breathless. My chest heaved as I stumbled back.“Stop wasting your strength,” Nika muttered, lounging against the window ledge as if she wasn’t also trapped. Her golden eyes glowed faintly in the dim light, sharp and amused. “Whoever placed this didn’t j

Elara’s POVDarkness. It swallowed me whole, cold and endless, as though the moment I collapsed, the world itself had ceased to exist. At first, I thought I had died—that the pain of the transition had devoured me entirely. But then I heard it.A steady rhythm—not quite a heartbeat, not quite footsteps. A pulse that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at once. It echoed deep in my chest, reverberating through the emptiness.“Elara.” Her voice, smooth as liquid silver, sharp as lightning. It was my wolf.I spun around, searching the darkness, but it was vast, infinite. “Where are you?”“Here.”The shadows rippled. From them stepped a wolf unlike any I’d ever seen. She was massive, her fur liquid silver, her eyes twin moons blazing with fierce light. She radiated power, raw and untamed—but there was something familiar too, something that felt like… me.“You,” I whispered, breathless. “You’re mine.”“I am you, and you are me.”I took a hesitant step closer. The ground beneath my f

  • THE COLD WOLF'S MATE    CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO

Elara’s POVThe moment the High Priestess’s chant filled the air, I felt it—that pull. A deep, bone-cracking force that clawed its way out of me, as if something long buried had decided it had slept enough. The drums shook the ground beneath my feet. The blue moon’s light bathed me in silver, and suddenly, it wasn’t just light. It was heat, fire—a blaze that licked across my skin. My body arched against my will, every nerve screaming.I gasped, my vision blurring. The pack’s faces melted into shadows, voices echoing like whispers in a cavern. The only thing tethering me was Kael’s voice—steady, commanding, wrapping around me like chains made of steel and warmth.“I’m here. Anchor to me.”I clung to that voice, though my body betrayed me. My bones cracked loudly, my knees buckling. Pain ripped through me, sharp and merciless—but beneath it, something else stirred. It was a presence—no, not just a presence.“I’m here.”The thought wasn’t mine, yet it was. It was my wolf. The one I thoug
