ログインLENA
“See what I mean?” Aaron whispered. “He has people and can monitor you because maybe you know too much"
Why didn't I think of that?
I helped Aaron and he might be scared I'd expose him.
"So Ms, Lena...can you really protect yourself?"
His question made me spiral as I suddenly had the memory of uera standing in the doorway of the house I'd helped build and zain's voice of suffocating with me.
Like Aaron knew I was in some trance, I heard his voice;
“Your husband has powerful people behind him now. Alpha Gary's family, his father and his supporters.”
He closed the curtain as soon as the van drove off and stride to me but kept a space as his closeness was becoming unbearable.
“If you fight them alone, you'll lose.”
“And if I marry you?”
“You won't be alone.”
I leered at him. “What do you get?”
People like him always have something to gain.
His face became stern as he bent slightly to my position. “An alliance.”
"I'm nothing, I can't offer you what you want..."
"I just need a wife" his hands found my shoulders and they were warm, I didn't even move like I wanted to be buried under this warmth from him.
I should stop from thinking such but then it was impossible.
“That doesn't make sense.”
He nodded, dropped his hands and walked past me. My eyes followed him as he picked up a black folder from the counter.
I hadn't noticed it was there all along and it looked confidential.
Then he placed it in front of me. "Just six months, that's all I need"
I took it from him and opened it. My eyes were met by a contract.
My attention drifted across the first page which had a marriage agreement.
"Did you have this all along?"
He rolled his eyes innocently. "Yes, I was trying to find who'd fit perfectly to that role and I bumped into you, don't you think it's the moon goddess design?"
Lies. He wasn't even looking into my eyes when saying that. I had a queer feeling he knows me more than now but who was he truly?
Would I be signing myself into something dangerous?
"So are you in?"
"After the whole show, what happens next" I was referring to the 6 months aftermath like I had reconsidered.
His face light up. "We divorce"
There was no emotion when he mentioned that and it strangely made me peaceful.
All these could help me. "Are there conditions?" I continued.
He pointed to the contract indicating I read it but his eyes, they were just enchanting that all my focus was back on him.
“You live in my house.”
I squeezed my face like I had an apartment to live in the first place.
“You attend certain public events with me.” he straightened his shoulder "You don't interfere in my business."
I trailed my eyes heavenward. “You don't ask questions about my enemies.”
“That sounds suspicious.”
"It is"
A smile almost left me.
“And you don't interfere in mine?” I muttered since it was a fake marriage.
“Agreed.”
I continued reading and stopped when a clause snapped me.
“You'll give me access to your lawyers, investigators and private security?”
"To help you find answers"
This was a chance to investigate my sister's death and perhaps, make Zain realize what he'd thrown away.
Using the envelope as a table, I collect the pen from Aaron.
His gaze was fixative on my hand.
“You're accepting?”
I paused and bite my lips. "No, I'm reconsidering"
He raised a brow at me as I hadn't signed yet.
"There's one condition"
He was anxious adjusting the collar of his T-shirt.
"Go on"
I took my seat finally and folded my fingers together, but was so hasty to be beside me like he wouldn't leave me for a second.
“My marriage to Zain must be legally ended first.”
He heaved a sigh as though that was the least problem ever.
“Already arranged.” Aaron took out his phone as my eyes as my eyes widened at him.
The next thing my ears heard was his clicking fingers on the screen and a call was passed across.
“Send the divorce documents to the house.” he ordered and every of his actions left me jinxed.
He ended the call and gazed at me.
“Your divorce will be finalized tomorrow.”
My heart pounded as everything was happening fast and I just didn't know what to say.
"Why me?"
For the first time, Aaron didn't answer me, his eyes just traveled over my face.
“You'll find out.”
That answer sent chills down my spinev and without a second thought, I signed the paper and pushed it towards him.
His fingers closed around it as he whispered;
“Congratulations, Mrs. Krane.”
It sounded all new and dangerous.
“It's only for six months.”
Aaron's lips curved into a faint smile.
“That's what the contract says.”
He signed under my name. "I can't believe I did that?"
He chuckled not bothered. “You're having second thoughts?”
“I'm having about a thousand.” I replied exhausted and suddenly scared.
“That's normal.”
“You're enjoying this"
He gathered the papers and placed them inside the folder as I watched him carefully.
There was something unsettling about Aaron. He wasn't trying to impress or flirt with me, or acted like a man who had just convinced a heartbroken woman to marry him.
He was just calm like it was another business transaction.
"You need rest Lena and I hope you get over it the chaos of tonight"
He began to walk away. “Aaron.”
He stopped too soon like he anticipated me calling him and I hesitated.
“Where am I supposed to sleep?”
He peeped over his shoulder and if I'm not mistaken...his eyes were no longer hazel but mauve yet he managed to quickly switch between it “The room you used.”
“And you?”
“Downstairs.” he answered sharply.
“You're not sleeping in the same room?”
“Not unless you ask me to."
That sounded flirty and it surprised me as I was suddenly observant.
I smelt furs and just when my eyes met a tattoo on his neck, he walked away before I could say anything else.
I had a feeling he was avoiding me or trying to hide something.
I was still by the dining table as I pulled out my phone to search the web about Aaron.
But all it stated was that he was a notable business man and the number 2 on the chart most wealthiest man in the country.
If he was all that...then he doesn't need me, his influence can get him whatever he needs.
I eliminated the search and boom, my wallpaper was staring at me. It was my wedding picture with zain and that smile on my face was painfully genuine.
My thumb hovered over the screen as I deleted it because I'd be starting a new but then I still wasn't comfortable with newsfeed about Aaron.
He just can't be perfect! Just as I was lost in thoughts, a message popped on the screen.
"Be ready by 8am, tomorrow's going to be a long day"
Great, speaking of the devil, Aaron just texted and this time around, I really don't want to be trapped.
LENAThe unfamiliar ceiling was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. For one moment, I forgot everything and thought I was waking up beside Zain.Although, the illusion shattered almost immediately as it dawn on me that in this enormous house, a stranger had become my husband.I squeezed my eyes shut again and let out a long breath before forcing myself out of bed.The room was quiet and the curtains had already been drawn open, allowing the morning sunlight to pour through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The rain from yesterday had disappeared, leaving behind a bright blue sky that mocked the heaviness inside my chest. As I walked towards the bathroom, I froze.Everything seems new, ranging from toothbrush, fresh towels and skin-care products still sealed.Even a neatly folded outfit rested on the marble counter. Someone had prepared everything.I didn't know why that tiny act made my throat tighten.Aaron hadn't said much yesterday, but somehow he'd thought of everything.Aft

LENAI didn't know how long the drive once but I noticed when the car came to a halt. My mind was driven back to reality as I gawk at the villa. While struggling to get out, I accidentally broke his handle in anger. He got out and opened the car for me and just as I intended to step out, he suddenly carried me in his arms. "I can walk" I protested in a weak tone. "You have no shoes on, you've walked enough" My hands grabbed a fistful of his shirt as he walks me inside. The blinding lights flooded me. He stopped when he brought me to a door. "You can use the room, I'd be waiting downstairs for you..." He discontinued and then gasped like he wasn't breathing again when our eyes locked."Don't skip dinning because of him, he's not worth doing that for" It's like he knows everything but just feign ignorance. He lean closely to me, like he'd kiss me but then, I realized he was opening the door. "I'd be waiting"My body recoils as I had goosebumps with that line of
LENAIt was the first words I have said since an hour of silence and not wanting to read her expression or reply, I shoved her gently to get inside. When I did, his name was all I called; "Zain!"My eyes searches for him through the corners and I could hear the stomping feet of yera behind me. "Hey, stop acting like a mad woman in my house! How can you be his wife?" I spur around to look at her as she stared at me in disgust. Did she fucking say this is her house? A place I built with my sweat, blood and tears?"I'd call the security on you if you don't leave!" She brawled infuriated as she reach out for my shoulder blade. Yera was annoyed just like I was.I almost said a word when i heard zain's voice from adjacent where I stood. He was coming from his room in an Ice Wolves hoodie, staring at me with an expression that depicts hate and detest or panic rather. The Ice Wolves logo across his chest felt like a blade. "Lena" he whispers and then dart his gaze to Yera wh
LENAI still had my mourning dress on, my eyes swollen with tears as I stared at her grave which has been decorated with flowers. My fingers run through the pendant we both had as a gift but now, I wear hers. The silver chain pelted against my skin, like it always does when my wolf is angry. While everyone were under an umbrella, I stood in the rain, my black dress received the lashes of being irresponsible, of never hearing her out while she was in pain. Her last call to me was; "I hate you" I couldn't be there for my sister when she needed me the most, all I just wanted to do was impress my husband that I forgot about the people who were important to me.Weak, my feet dragged me inside the family house were they were mourners too but their voices were blurry. No one recognizes me here, except that they just got to know that I was her sister. My husband, Zain was meant to be here but work has kept him far away. He'd be playing for the nationals today, captain of the
