--- Miguel’s POV ---
I seriously needed to thank the girl. Due to her interference with the officers, we were able to follow the ambulance all the way to the First Dynasty Hospital. Though because it was heading to the ambulance bay, Lucy’s mom, whom we call Mama Ang, headed to the parking lot. Lucy and I didn’t even hesitate to jump out as she slowed down for another car that was pulling out of a spot. “Wo, you two wait!” Mama Ang yelled at us, but we didn’t slow down or look back. Yes, we would pay for the disrespect, though I was hoping for some understanding since it was an emergency. Just as we got to the door, it was opened by none other than that girl. Lucy shoved past her, while apologizing but not stopping to thank her and even ask why she was here. At first, I was wondering why she was here till she looked to me. That’s when I see the similarities to Crispin, except for her hair. Her blonde streak ran from her left ear to the middle of her head and her hair was long, lower back long. It really boggled my mind to be looking at someone who looks just like Crispin. It was bad enough to have one Crispin around but two would be dangerous. Then again, the girl in front of me was smiling and motioning for me to go ahead in before her. I was really wondering if I should until Ericson patted me on the back and nodded me to go in. That’s when I noticed Crispin standing behind her and glaring at me. I just smirked at him, as I stepped forward only to grab the door and motion for her to enter. “I wanted to thank you for your help earlier.” I explained as she walked in and beside me as we approached the front desk. “UM sorry my name is Miguel Lopez.” I say as I offer my hand to her. “Sarah Hawthrone, the twin of the neanderthal Crispin.” Is her respond and I just couldn’t help but start laughing. Oh yeah, she is nothing like him and I bet Meri will love her. At that thought I turned and ran over to Lucy, who at this point was arguing with the receptionist. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE’S NO ONE UNDER THAT NAME HERE?” Lucy screamed at them. Oh shit. “Um excuse me, our friend was brought here by ambulance just a few minutes ago. Can you please check one more time?” I ask politely while pulling Lucy behind me. I squeeze her hand as she calms down and relaxes on my back. She hates it when people give her a tough time instead of doing their job. I mean I dislike it too, but I find I get better results by keeping my calm and clear mind in such situations. “Just like I was explaining to her, no one has been brought in lately.” The receptionist voices annoyingly while rolling her eyes. Though they seem to be stuck in her hair line. Looking behind me I notice Ericson glaring at her. “Ma’am I can confirm that a Merida Cogswell was brought in by ambulance and should be receiving emergency attention. Or should I ask the administrator about how things are run here.” Ericson very calmly explains while getting his phone out. “Lucy Stolls! Miguel Lopez! Next time you even think of jumping out of my vehicle, I want you to remember who I am. For I won’t hesitate to put you both in the hospital for being so stupid.” Announces Mama Ang as she strolls into the lobby. Along with her are Adam and Larry. “So how is Merida doing?” I knew Larry was coming but I never thought Adam was even in the car. Then again, I was focused on the ambulance and getting here as fast as possible. Though it does make some sense, when I see Lucy walk over and hug Adam. I just don’t get their relationship, but I do have to say it works. “We are having trouble finding her in the system since the receptionist doesn’t know how to do her job.” Lucy motions at the desk as if this was a normal occurrence. I just look at her as if she has lost her mind, but before I can debunk her words, Mama Ang is already on the phone. “Hey girl are you working right now?” I hear her ask someone, I can’t hear the other side, but I know Ericson and Crispin and probably Sarah can hear. “Great, have you seen Merida?... Yeah, I knew, I’m actually standing here with them, and I can’t explain why but I am very thankful for him… Ok thank you girl. See you soon.” At that Mama Ang hangs up and starts walking toward the double doors on the right. “Wait ma’am you can’t …” before the receptionist can finish the doors open and Auntie Theresa walks out. I totally forgot she works here now. “Lisa just stop! They have a loved one here and you acting dumb is not helping your case. Especially since Mr. Solace is personally seeing to her treatment.” She says as she motions us to join her. The receptionist, shocked and in dismay, slowly sits down then almost folds into herself as she realizes her mistake. But before we could clear the doors and hear about Meri, I noticed someone running into the Lobby. “Detective Drew? Why are…” I ask as she runs up to me. “Where is she? Is Merida, ok?” Detective Drew just about demands of me as I stared at her. I am just so shocked that I don’t know what to say. “Um detective Drew I take, we only just know we’re getting allowed back here. If you follow us, all your questions will be answered.” Ericson explained as he motions forward into what I think is the emergency department. Nodding yes, she walks to Auntie Theresa and asks where we are going, with that we all follow after them. This day is nothing but one surprise after another. Then again after seeing Detective Drew, the thought hits me that I must call the Cogswell and tell them. Just why, oh why do I have to talk to those people. They are so annoying; besides I really doubt they would really care about knowing what happened. They would likely only want to know what happens afterwards and how much it will cost. Or more likely who will pay it, given they have no money. Their words, not mine.---Merida’s POV--- “Please Lucy I just want to hear.” I begged as Lucy tried to leave my room for the tenth time since I asked her. “Meri I really didn’t want to tell you, as you’re going to be worried.” She says. I am scared she’s going to run before I get her to talk so I grip her shirt with both hands and yank her to my bed. “Lucy, you promised to spend your last night with me, and I just want to know what really happened after you left the courthouse that day.” After looking at me for a moment, she finally collapses on my bed. “I don’t know why you want to know now. It’s been months since then and everythi
---Zander’s POV--- Rubbing my eyes, I look around but it’s dark, though I know my sister isn’t here. Hearing raised voices, I figured dad was back, except mom sounded scared and was pleading, why would she be pleading when dad is here. Plus, I can’t hear my sister. Sister wouldn’t just stand by and listen, she would be comforting mom or yelling at whoever was stressing her. Getting up I crawl across the floor and look down into the house. I see mom struggling with someone I’ve never seen before but as he moves to the door that’s when I notice sister. He has sister in his arms and he’s trying to leave with her, but it’s sister’s reaction that scares me. For there is no reaction (she’s not hitting him, smiling, crying or even scowling) she’s just holding onto his shirt with a blank look and empty ey
---Merida’s POV--- It had been another long day. More trying to remember my past lives and how to control the flow and influence on this life, not that it always worked. Let alone did I have a reminisce every day or today at that. Not that my teacher believed me. He believed I was blocking myself from remembering. Then again, I really missed Mr. Bell, but he couldn’t be my teacher, and I wanted to be treated like any other person. So yeah, I had been enrolled into the local Crysthalian School. *Girl it’s not you, he thinks someone is holding us back.* Nadia finally speaks up after several days of just standing by and watching. *Who does he blame?* I asked as I settled in bed and hope sleep will come
---Zander’s POV--- It’s been a year since I left the coven and found my new home. This restaurant and these people. I really shouldn’t get comfortable but looking around the table at everyone, I just want to live in the moment. This right here is what I want. And I’m hoping to never go back to that hellhole. “Hey Zan, you ok?” Ma asks me as she passes the green beans to me. “Yeah, I’m perfect Ma, just realizing it’s been a year since you took me in and gave me a home.” I said as I took the green beans from her and placed them aside. Then turning back, I hugged her. “Thank you!” “Oh Zan, your welcome.’ Ma choked out. I knew she
---Merida’s POV--- I was so surprised when the first ‘CRACK’ and boom lit up the sky. I’ve never seen fireworks, as I was always left home or busy doing something. My former parents always had their reasons, and I think it was to keep me out of view. But here on an island, with a castle in the distance and a beach under my feet, I wasn’t hiding. I was hiding who I was but not physically. Everyone here knew my name and welcomed me with smiles or hugs. Smiling as I watched the fireworks, I was surprised once more when my dad appeared next to me. “So, is it everything you imagined?” I could see the ‘Little Sea’ part in his eyes, as he smiled down at me. Looking around I was surprised to see the staff had gathered around us and was blocking us from the nobles that were standi
---Sarah’s POV--- The night dragged on as I waited for my chance to run but I didn’t know what had been planned. The king making his appearance almost a half an hour after the ball started or that he ended up picking me as his princess for the night. A total shock and it also meant I had to dance with a few councilors or their sons. My mom kept appearing in my line of sight and telling me to smile. I would have punched that last son in the face, if Ericson hadn’t approached and stole me away. “Are you better now Sarah?” Ericson whispered in my ear. I tried really hard not to let the shiver run down my spine. But I just couldn’t help but fall for him. Nodding my head as I just knew my voice would cra
