NOAH’S POV

The rain had washed away the last of the tracks. Noah crouched beside the muddy forest floor, studying the ground where the trail had ended. Broken twigs and flattened grass told him someone had passed through recently, but the heavy downpour had erased every other clue. It was as though the forest itself had decided to protect whoever he was searching for.

Behind him, Gideon sighed.

“I’ve never seen tracks disappear this completely.”

“They didn’t disappear.”

Noah stood, brushing the

It was as though the forest itself had decided to protect whoever he was searching for.Behind him, Gideon sighed.“I’ve never seen tracks disappear this completely.”“They didn’t disappear.”Noah stood, brushing the mud from his gloves.“They were hidden.”Gideon raised an eyebrow.“You still believe someone is helping the girl?”“I know they are.”Noah looked toward the endless stretch of trees.“The cottage didn’t burn by accident. Someone got her out before the flames consumed everything.”“And whoever that was knows this forest better than we do.”Gideon folded his arms.“If that’s true, chasing them blindly won’t help.”Before Noah could reply, the distant sound of galloping horses echoed through the

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 15: THE FIRST STEP

ROSELYN’S POVThe moon was still high when we left the refuge. Darius didn’t look back, Neither did I Yet as the narrow path disappeared behind us, I couldn’t shake the feeling that we were leaving the only place where I had felt even a little safe since Roland… My chest tightened, I forced myself to keep walking. The forest welcomed us with silence, Mist curled around the ancient trees hiding the path beneath our feet. Darius walked several paces ahead, his movements as quiet as the breeze weaving through the branches. He never seemed to stumble, Never hesitated, It was as if he had walked these woods his entire life.I, on the other hand, nearly tripped over another root. A firm hand caught my arm before I hit the ground.“Watch your footing.”“I am.”“No.” His voice remained calm. “You’re watching your thoughts.”Heat crept into my cheeks, He was right. I hadn’t stopped thinking about Roland, about the cottage, about everything I had lost. Darius released my arm and continued walki

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 14: THE DREAM OF SILVER

ROSELYN’S POVThe forest was unusually quiet even after Darius had decided we would leave sooner than planned, he refused to say when. Instead, he spent the rest of the afternoon inspecting every entrance to the refuge, checking traps I hadn’t even noticed before.I watched him from across the chamber as He moved with practiced precision, never wasting a single step.Who was he? That question had become as familiar as my own name. Every answer seemed hidden behind another locked door.“You should eat.” His voice broke my thoughts as he handed me a wooden bowl filled with a simple stew. I accepted it with a quiet nod. The warmth seeped into my cold fingers, but my appetite never came.“You’ve barely eaten since we left the cottage,” Darius said.“I’m not hungry.”“You need your strength.”“My strength couldn’t save Roland.”The words slipped out before I could stop them and Silence settled between us. Darius lowered his eyes, For a long moment, neither of us spoke. Finally, he walked

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 13: THE PRINCE’S INSTINCT

NOAH’S POVThe trail ended without warning. I stood at the edge of a narrow stream, my eyes fixed on the damp earth beneath my boots. A few broken branches pointed north. Faint footprints led toward the water. Then… Nothing, No tracks, No broken leaves, No lingering scent, It was as if the forest itself had swallowed whoever I was following.Gideon dismounted beside me, scanning the surrounding trees.“They crossed here?”“They had to.”He crouched beside the stream, running a hand through the wet soil before shaking his head.“I’ve tracked rogues through blizzards and across rocky cliffs. Even the best hunters leave something behind.”He looked up at me. “This…” He frowned. “…doesn’t make sense.”I remained silent Because he was right, It didn’t. My wolf stirred uneasily. She’s close, The words echoed through my mind. I looked around.“Where?”No answer, Only silence. The same silence that had followed me since Oakridge. I clenched my jaw.“You tell me she’s close, yet you won’t tell

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 12: FOOTSTEPS BEYOND THE STONE

ROSELYN’S POVThe footsteps stopped, Every muscle in my body tightened as silence swallowed the refuge once more. I couldn’t even hear my own breathing. Darius remained motionless, his hand wrapped firmly around the hilt of his sword. His eyes never left the narrow entrance leading outside. He wasn’t guessing, He was listening. Then, without taking his eyes off the entrance, he spoke.“Put out the fire.” His voice was barely a whisper.I stared at him for a heartbeat before hurrying toward the fireplace. Grabbing a nearby bucket, I poured water over the burning logs. A sharp hiss echoed through the chamber, Darkness rushed in.Only a faint stream of morning light filtered through the entrance, leaving the refuge draped in shadows.“Come here,” Darius said quietly.I moved beside him. “What did you hear?”“I don’t know.” That answer unsettled me more than anything else.Darius always seemed certain. But now, for the first time, uncertainty flickered across his face. The silence stretch
