ROSELYN’S POV

The village square remained silent long after Prince Noah and his guards disappeared into the forest.

No one cheered, No one spoke. It was as though the life had been drained from Oakridge Forest.

I could still hear the echo of his wolf’s howl ringing inside my ears. It wasn’t a sound of joy, It was fear.

Fear… because of me.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and looked around. Every face that had once ignored me now stared openly. Some looked frightened, Others looked disgusted. A few even looked… angry. The whispers began quietly, but they spread through the crowd like wildfire.

“I knew there was something wrong with her.”

“The Prince’s wolf feared her.”

“Did you see his face?”

“She brought bad luck the moment she was born.”

I lowered my head. Those words shouldn’t have hurt anymore. I’d heard them for years. Yet today, they cut deeper than ever before. Without saying a word, I turned and walked away. No one tried to stop me, No one called my name. Instead, the villagers stepped aside, leaving a wide path between us as though touching me would curse them. For the first time in my life… I felt completely alone.

The walk home seemed longer than usual. The evening breeze rustled the leaves above me, but instead of bringing comfort, it sent a chill down my spine. My mind replayed everything that had happened. Prince Noah’s golden eyes, The strange look on his face, The words he had whispered.

“I’ve been looking for you.” Why? Who did he think I was? He was the future Lycan King. I was nothing more than the girl everyone believed shouldn’t exist. None of it made sense.

When our small cottage finally came into view, I quickened my pace. Roland was already waiting outside. The moment he saw me, he knew something was wrong. He crossed the yard in hurried steps.

“Roselyn?” I tried to smile but It lasted less than a second. Then the tears came. “They were all staring at me.” Roland pulled me into his arms without asking another question. I buried my face against his chest. “They were afraid of me.” His hand rested gently on my head. “I know.”

“No…” I pulled away and looked up at him. “You don’t understand, The Prince looked at me as if…”

I hesitated. “…as if he knew me.”

Roland’s expression changed Only for a heartbeat. But I saw it.

“You told me I was imagining things,” I continued “You always said I was just human. So why would the Lycan Prince say he’d been looking for me?”

Roland remained silent. “Why did his wolf howl?”

Silence. “Roland…” My voice broke. “What aren’t you telling me?” He looked away.

The setting sun cast long shadows across the yard, making him appear older than I had ever noticed.

For years, I had believed he kept quiet because there was nothing to say, but Now… I realized he had been hiding something, Something enormous.

He let out a long, weary sigh.

“I prayed this day would never come.” My heart skipped. “What do you mean?”

Instead of answering, he walked into the cottage, Confused, I followed him.

He closed the door carefully before sliding the heavy wooden bolt into place. Then he pulled the curtains shut. The room suddenly felt darker, Smaller, More suffocating. “Roland…”

He turned toward me. “Whatever I’m about to tell you…” His voice trembled. “…will change your life forever.” A knot formed in my stomach.

“I don’t understand.”

“I know.”

He walked toward the fireplace and slowly knelt on the floor. For a moment, he simply stared at the old wooden boards beneath him, Then he pressed his palm against one of them. A faint silver glow spread across the floor. I gasped. With a soft click, one of the floorboards shifted. A hidden compartment. I took an involuntary step forward.

“You… you built this?”

“No.” Roland slowly lifted the loose board.

“It was here long before we arrived.”

Inside lay a small crystal pendant shaped like a crescent moon. Even in the dim light, it shimmered with an ethereal silver glow. It was breathtaking.

Almost… Alive.

Roland picked it up with surprising care, as though it were the most precious thing in the world. His hands trembled. “I’ve protected this for nineteen years.” He looked into my eyes. “And now…” He held the pendant out to me. “It’s finally time for you to have it.”

I stared at the crystal. Something inside me stirred. A strange warmth spread through my chest. Without thinking, I reached for it.

The instant my fingers touched the pendant, Pain exploded through my entire body. I screamed. The crystal erupted with blinding silver light, flooding the cottage. Images flashed before my eyes.

A magnificent palace beneath a glowing moon, A queen wearing a silver crown, A man carrying a newborn baby through a forest… Fire… Blood… Screams. The queen’s tear-filled voice echoed through the chaos. “Protect my daughter…”

The vision shattered. I collapsed onto the floor, gasping for breath. The pendant slipped from my hand but continued glowing. Roland rushed to my side. “Roselyn!” I looked at him, tears streaming down my face. “I… I saw them.” His face turned pale.

“What did you see?” I struggled to breathe.

“A palace…”

“A queen…”

“A baby…”

Before I could say another word— BANG!

The front door shook violently. Another thunderous blow followed. BANG!

Someone was trying to break in.

A cold voice echoed from outside. “We know she’s in there.” Roland froze. His eyes widened in horror.

Then, for the first time since I had known him… I saw genuine fear. He reached beneath the table and drew out an ancient silver sword engraved with glowing runes. His gaze locked onto mine.

“Roselyn…” His voice was steady now. “Whatever happens next… Do not let go of that pendant.”

Outside, the voice spoke again. This time, louder.

“Hand over the girl… or we’ll burn this cottage to the ground.”

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 47: FOOTPRINTS THAT VANISHED

Noah’s POVThose words echoed in my mind long after I and Rowan resumed our journey.“They know you’re here now… they knew even before you arrived.”I don’t know why those words bothered me so much.Perhaps it was the certainty behind them.By sunset, I and Rowan reached an abandoned watchtower overlooking the eastern frontier. The structure had once been an important military post, but time had not been kind to it. Most of the wooden supports had rotted away, and thick vines covered the lower walls. Several sections of the stone tower had collapsed completely.Rowan dismounted and tethered the horses beneath a large tree.I barely noticed as my attention was already fixed on the tower.I climbed the crumbling stone steps carefully, placing one hand against the wall for balance. When I reached the top, I stopped. The view stole my breath.Endless mountains stretched toward the horizon.Beyond them were hidden valleys, ancient forests, and rocky peaks that disappeared into the clouds.

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 46: THE HIDDEN PATH

Roselyn’s POV The broken crystal remained on the council table. Even after everyone had left the room, I couldn’t stop looking at it. The meeting had ended nearly an hour ago, but I remained seated, staring at the small piece of crystal that had caused so much uneasiness. It was strange. Beautiful, even in its broken state. The surface caught the faint light coming through the windows, reflecting pale silver patterns across the wooden table. But there was something else about it. Something that made the pendant beneath my clothes feel unusually warm. I reached beneath my shirt and touched it. The broken crystal looked almost exactly like my pendant. Close enough to fool a stranger but Not close enough to fool Darius. “They’re copying it,” I whispered. Darius stood on the opposite side of the table. He hadn’t said much throughout the meeting. He rarely did when he was thinking deeply about something. Now, he simply nodded. “They’re trying to.” I looked at

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 45: THE SILENT WITNESS

~ Noah’s POV ~The morning mist clung to the forest road as I and Rowan approached Briar’s Crossing. The village was small… Too small to appear on most royal maps, yet Gideon’s last report had mentioned it twice. If the masked hunters had passed through here… Someone must have seen them right? But the question was whether anyone will be willing to talk. The village square was unusually quiet. Merchants packed their stalls in silence. Children disappeared indoors the moment they saw strangers arrived…I and Rowan.Even the blacksmith avoided looking at me.Rowan frowned. “What’s going on? Are they afraid?.”“I don’t think so.” I studied the faces around me for some minutes.“Looks like they’ve been warned.”Close to the road, an elderly woman sat outside a weathered cottage, weaving a basket.Unlike everyone else, she didn’t look away when I approached, so I bowed politely.“Greetings.”She continued weaving, and without looking up, she spoke.“I know who you are.”Rowan stiffened. “Re

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 44: THE WHISPER IN THE WOODS

Roselyn’s POVThe valley felt different… but nothing great had really changed. The cottages still stood beneath the silver trees. Children still laughed as they chased one another through the fields, but no longer as loudly as before. The waterfall still sang its endless song yet every sound seemed sharper, Every shadow seemed deeper. The past few days, I have come to realize that once you know someone is searching for you… It became impossible to stop looking over your shoulder for safety reasons..I awoke before sunrise, stepped outside my cottage, hoping the cool morning air would quiet my restless thoughts.Instead, I found Darius already waiting for me.He stood with his back towards me, watching the eastern ridge.“I noticed recently that you barely sleep,” I said, with worry visible on my face.“Well… I sleep when I can.” His response was dry.I walked to stand beside him. “Have the scouts returned?”He exhales deeply. “Not yet.”Silence settled between us… then I finally spok

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 43: THE ROAD EAST

Noah’s POVThe palace gates opened before sunrise. A cold wind swept through the courtyard as I adjusted the strap of my sword. For the first time in years… I was leaving the capital without a royal escort.Captain Rowan tightened the saddle on his horse before glancing over.“My prince… are you really certain about this?”I secured the weathered compass Elias had given me inside my satchel.“I’ve never been more certain, Rowan.”“But…” he stammered. “The King won’t be pleased.” He said with a worried expression.“Well… He already knows.”Rowan frowned in surprise. “He approved it?”“No.” A faint smile touched my lips. “He understands the urgency and importance. He also knows the kind of son he has.”***Inside the palace, King Alaric stood on a high balcony overlooking the courtyard below. He watched quietly as Noah prepared his horse. Soon Queen Selene joined him quietly. They both watched for a while.“They’re leaving.”“I know.”Neither spoke for a while. The King watched his son

  • THE CURSED MOON HEIR   CHAPTER 42: THE MAN IN THE BLACK CLOAK

Roselyn’s POVI couldn’t sleep all through the night. The image of the rider standing on the eastern ridge lingered in my mind long after darkness swallowed the mountains. O couldn’t bring myself to tell anyone, especially Darius. The village was already in an unexplainable state, so it would be best if I don’t add to their worries. But… Had someone truly been there? Or had fear begun playing tricks on me that I now imagine things? The pendant rested cold against my chest once more, as if nothing had happened. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that something had changed.Someone had been watching. Before dawn, Whispering Haven was already awake.Hunters slipped silently through the trees, Scouts disappeared into the mountain trails. No one spoke louder than necessary, the valley hadn’t fallen into panic but It had become extremely… alert.I stepped outside my cottage just as Darius emerged from the council hall. He looked as though he hadn’t slept.“You were in there all night.” I aske
