CHAPTER 36 - FORGETTING IT

*MIKALYA’S POV*

Sage was the only person at the cottage when I arrived. “Where’s Alpha?” I found him in the kitchen preparing something to eat.

“He’s out,” Sage terse, laying down four slices of bread on a hand towel. He wore a dark sleeveless top and white sweat pants, his sandy blonde hair was a mess.

“Will he be back for dinner?” I asked, opening the refrigerator to check ingredients for dinner.

“Isn’t today your day off?” He looks at me from the side while spreading mayonnaise on the bread.

“Yes, but I….”

“Mikayla, go watch a movie or something.” He cuts me off, “You worry about Heron too much.”

“It’s my job.” I quipped and took an apple from the fridge with a bottle of water.

“Were you just doing your job last night?” He challenged with a raise of his brow, slicing the tomatoes.
