"Don’t mind Bree," a voice cut through my simmering anger. "Her attitude is permanently set to frostbite."

I turned and finally got a good look at the girl who’d appeared beside me. She was drop-dead gorgeous. Long dark hair streaked with electric pink framed her face, and beautiful tattoos climbed her toned arms, disappearing beneath the low curve of her pink lace top.

She jerked her head toward the hallway. "C’mon, fresh meat. I’ll give you the grand tour before the vultures descend." She winked as she slipped into the hall. "I’m Starlet, by the way."

I nodded and fell into step beside her, my heels sinking into the plush carpet. The noise of the main room faded behind us, replaced by a dimmer, more controlled hum.

Starlet moved with the confidence of someone who knew every inch of this place and expected me to keep up. And I was determined to do exactly that. Because if she knew this place inside-out, then I damn well needed to know it better.

She pointed to a room on our left, dr

Raven's POV I stared at my reflection, fighting the urge to punch the mirror out of frustration. The outfit was bad, like real bad. A neon, bubblegum-pink two piece that made me look like I was trying way too hard and failing anyway."I cannot believe you made me wear pink," I groaned dropping the blush brush onto the cluttered counter. "Of all the colors in the entire fucking world and you made me wear this."Starlet popped up behind me in the mirror, wearing an even brighter pink shade. Her face lit up with that bright smile."Isn’t it great? And before you say anything, I only have pink outfits. But seriously, you look amazing. This color brings out the rose in your cheeks.""That’s the blush you caked on me," I deadpanned, poking at my cheek. "And don’t try to sweet-talk me. I know I look weird."Her smile softened into something more genuine and a little vulnerable. "Whatever." She rolled her eyes. "But I’m just… I’m glad you don’t hate me for it. For loving pink, I mean."I glan

Dominic’s POVThe moment I first understood what my dick was capable of, the way it could short-circuit my brain and pull a blinding, shuddering pleasure straight from my spine, I knew one thing for sure.I fucking loved sex.The burn in my veins when a woman looked at me like I was the most dangerous thing she’d ever wanted? Better than any drug. I loved losing myself in it until the whole damn world faded out and all that was left was the heat and the feeling and the fucking glorious release when I came. But sex was just one leg of the stool. The whole shit-show of my life stood on three things.Three obsessions.Sex. Power. Money. My unholy trinity.Money wasn’t just a tool to me; it was obedience. With the right amount, men who swore they’d die before kneeling suddenly forgot they had spines. They’d hand over secrets, switch sides, sell out their own blood if the price was high enough. People liked to pretend loyalty meant something. It didn’t. Money proved it every single day and

"Oh, we don’t really do real names up here," Starlet said, relaxing again, clearly thinking I was just making conversation. "She went by Pixie." She smiled. "Like me. Starlet’s just my stage name. My real name’s Stella. But don’t let that get around, okay? It’s our little secret.""Your secret is safe with me." I mumbled. Pixie. They all used fake names. Pixie could’ve been Haley… or not. I had nothing solid to go off yet.We stopped in front of a door marked with a small, silver 7. Starlet turned to me, her warm smile returning. "So, what’s your name anyway? I can’t keep calling you new girl.""It's Raven."She blinked. "Okay… and is that your stage name?""Real name and stage name."Her eyebrows went straight up. "Seriously? You’re using your actual name?" She let out a soft, incredulous laugh. "Wow. That’s bold."The pieces were clicking into place. I needed to know about that previous roommate. I needed to get into that room, see if there was anything left behind, any clue. Starl

  • THE DEVIL AND HIS ASSASSIN   Chapter 13

The chilled air was a shock against my skin, a sudden invasion that tightened my flesh and pulled my nipples into two hard, desperate points. I walked to the full-length mirror and forced myself to look. The woman staring back was a stranger. My dark hair hung in wild, tangled waves around my shoulders. Across the sharp curve of my hips, faint yellow bruises bloomed like fading flowers—a fucking map of where Dominic’s hands had claimed me. My gaze slid over my own tits, still buzzing with the memory of his rough palms, down the flat plane of my stomach and settled on the dark, neatly trimmed hair between my thighs. Right there. The center of a throbbing, fucking relentless ache.My lungs seized for a second. I could almost feel his fingertips tracing the impossible softness of my inner thigh, that final, agonizing inch before he’d… Fuck. The memory alone was a live wire against my nerves. It was infuriating. It was the most degrading and exhilarating feeling of my life. How? How did

  • THE DEVIL AND HIS ASSASSIN   Chapter 12

The ache between my thighs was a fucking traitor.A dull, insistent throb that refused to be ignored, like someone tapping a knife against the inside of my skull just to remind me of what I’d done. Of what he had done. It had been my unwanted companion for two long, humiliating days. Two days of trying not to think about him and failing with spectacular consistency.Every shift against the ridiculously soft silk sheets sent a fresh ripple of soreness through me. A subtle reminder of everything I wanted to forget and everything my body refused to let go of. My mind, equally treacherous, replayed everything in an unforgiving detail. The weight of his body pressing me into this very mattress. The bruising grip of his hands on my hips, claiming, controlling, making sure I felt who I belonged to in that moment. The low, primal sounds he made when he was buried so deep inside me that I wasn't entirely sure where he ended and where I began. And worst of all—how I’d responded.Like I’d been
