Ryker’s POV

(A few weeks later.)

“I still don’t understand why you have to go back so soon.”

My mom’s voice followed me around the house as I zipped up my bag. She stood by the doorway, arms folded, eyes scanning me like I was making the worst decision of my life.

“School resumed, Mom,” I said simply, not looking at her. “I can’t just stay here forever.”

She scoffed loudly.

“School, school, school. As if all that nonsense is going to change anything.”

I paused for a second, then continued packi

Ryker’s POVNo.No, no, no.That didn’t make any sense.I walked through the hallway like my body was moving on its own, my mind stuck somewhere else entirely.Leonardo Rizz is engaged. The words echoed over and over again, louder each time, like they were trying to force themselves into something real. But they weren’t.They couldn’t be.It had to be a rumor.People liked to talk. People liked to exaggerate. This was school—rumors spread like wildfire here. That was all this was.A rumor. It had to be.“There’s no way…” I muttered under my breath, my steps uneven. My heart was beating too fast.Too loud.Everything felt… off.Like the ground wasn’t steady beneath my feet.&l

As if all that nonsense is going to change anything.”I paused for a second, then continued packing.“It will,” I said. “That’s the point.”“Oh please,” she waved her hand dismissively. “I dropped out and look—I’m still alive. You think those rich kids there care about you? You think you belong there?”I sighed softly, dragging my bag to the edge of the couch.“It’s not about them,” I said. “It’s about me.”She laughed, but nothing about the moment was funny.“And what exactly are you going to do, huh? Since you have everything all figured out.”“I’m going to be a lawyer.”The silence that

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Not the end!

Ryker’s POVMy world tilted.“My mom gave my room out for rent?”The man—Jerry, apparently—just shrugged like it wasn’t a big deal. Like he hadn’t just casually rearranged my entire life.“I pay for it,” he said, scratching his stomach. “So yeah. It’s mine for now.”I blinked at him.For a second, I thought about arguing. About telling him to get out. About reminding him that this was my room, my space, the only place in this house that ever felt remotely mine. But the words didn’t come.Because deep down, I already knew how this was going to go.I let out a slow breath.“…Right.”I stepped past him carefully, avoiding contact, and went straight for the small cabinet by my desk. My fingers moved automatically, grabbing the bottle of bleach and the old rag I always kept there.“Don’t touch my stuff,” he muttered from behind me.I paused. Then nodded once.“I won’t.”My voice came out flat. Empty.I didn’t look at him again as I walked out of the room.Back downstairs, I went straight t

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   It wreaks of replacement

Ryker’s POVThe key was still where we always left it—tucked under the faded welcome mat that had long since lost its color and purpose.I stood there for a second, staring at the door.It felt… strange.Like I had stepped out of one life and into another entirely, and now I was being forced back into the old one whether I liked it or not.My grip tightened around the key before I slid it into the lock and turned. The door creaked open. And immediately—The smell hit me.“Jesus…It was thick. Stale. A mix of sweat, alcohol, something rotten, and something I didn’t even want to identify. It clung to the air like it had been sitting there for days… maybe weeks.I stepped inside slowly, my nose wrinkling, my stomach twisting. The

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Be weak or be dead

Leonardo’s POVRyker didn’t argue again. That was the worst part.He just turned away from me and started packing his things, moving around the room like I wasn’t even there, like everything that had just happened had already settled inside him and he was done fighting it.I stayed where I was, watching him.Fuck.What was I even thinking? The words I had thrown at him… they echoed back in my head, sharp and ugly, and for the first time since the fair, the anger started to fade just enough for something else to creep in.Guilt.I dragged a hand down my face, exhaling slowly as I watched him shove his clothes into his bag without folding them, without care. He was moving fast, like if he didn’t, he might stop. Like if he slowed down even for a second, he’d feel everything. And I had done that.

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Breaking Point

Leonardo’s POVI couldn’t sit with it.The anger kept moving under my skin like something alive, something clawing to get out. My hands wouldn’t stay still. My jaw hurt from how tightly I was clenching it.If that picture got out—If my father saw it—Everything was overEverything. The car ride back had been silent. Too silent.Ryker hadn’t said a word. He just sat there, one hand pressed to his head, staring out the window like he wasn’t even in the car with me. Like whatever had just happened had knocked something loose inside him.Good.Better that way.Less questions.Less talking.Less… everything. The door clicked behind us as we stepped into the condo. I didn’t even bother taking off my shoes. I just walked in, straight ahead, like if I kept
