Chapter 15: Broken Heart

“What happened, Adele?”

“Please, take me out of here?” I appealed.

He took me home, and for the entire ride, I was pondering the words spoken by those strangers. Why were they warning me? Am I on his latest hunt? What does that mean? All his love and emotions are a lie?

I didn’t have the audacity to ask him about this. I saw him pulling the trigger without hesitation and how gently he held the flower petals. He showed me how hard he could be and how gentle he could be.
