Leona’s POV

The car ride was silent. Dante drove with one hand on the wheel, the other resting loosely on the gearshift, his profile carved in shadow and light. There was a convoy yet he chose to drive himself. I sat pressed against the window, arms folded, refusing to let my gaze wander to him even though every nerve in my body was attuned to his presence.

When we pulled up to the sprawling villa, I realized this wasn’t just any brunch, it was a display. Cars lined the driveway, sleek and expensive, guards stationed at every archway. The sound of faint music and low laughter drifted from the garden.

Dante stepped out first, coming around to open my door. His hand extended, formal, his expression unreadable. I hesitated a heartbeat too long before sliding my palm into his.

His grip was steady, unyielding.

Inside, the air was warm with the scent of citrus and champagne. Long tables stretched across the courtyard, women in beautiful dresses and men in tailored suits filling the seats. H

Leona's POV The slam of the front door echoed through the hall like a verdict. Dante didn’t follow me. He didn’t even look back when I turned away.By the time I climbed the stairs, my chest felt heavy, like something was lodged deep inside, refusing to let me breathe. The corridors stretched endlessly, empty and suffocating. When I reached our room, I pushed the door shut behind me and collapsed against it. My legs wouldn’t hold me anymore. The sobs came before I could stop them, jagged and raw, tearing through my throat until my whole body shook.I buried my face in my palms. His silence replayed over and over louder than any accusation he could’ve thrown at me. Silence that told me I wasn’t worth defending. Silence that cut deeper than his rage. For a long moment, I let the tears fall. I hated myself for it. Hated how much he could still break me with nothing more than doubt. But beneath the ache, something hardened.I dragged myself up, wiping at my cheeks with the back of my han

POV: LeonaThe boutique smelled faintly of roses and polished wood, too polished, too pristine for how rattled I felt. Gianna was supposed to be here with me since she had suggested and insisted I pick up a gown for an upcoming charity gala. Being a Don's wife, that is all there is to do since Dante doesn't want me to work for the fear I'll be attacked at work. Gianna cancelled at the last minute saying she was feeling too tired from 'all of the fun' she had with her husband yesterday. I'm not complaining though because I’d wanted a moment away from the estate walls. Just me, other activities, and a fleeting illusion of normalcy.“Leona?”The voice froze me mid-step. I turned, and my blood turned cold.Adrian.I rolled my eyes.Of all places, of all times. He leaned against a display like he owned the room. Same storm-dark eyes, same crooked smile that once had the power to unravel me. Except now, instead of warmth, there was something sharper lurking underneath.“I didn’t expect to s

  • THE DON'S FAVORITE OBSESSION    Chapter 22: The Breaking Point

POV: LeonaThe drive home was suffocating. No words, no music, just the hum of the engine and the weight of his silence pressing against my ribs. I stared out the window, arms crossed, fighting the urge to scream just to break the tension.By the time we pulled up to the mansion, my chest was burning with all the words I’d swallowed. The slam of the car door was the spark.“You just had to make a spectacle, didn’t you?” Dante’s voice was sharp, dangerous.I spun around, fury boiling over. “A spectacle? She tried to humiliate me, Dante! What was I supposed to do, smile and drown quietly for her amusement?”His jaw clenched, his steps predatory as he stalked closer. “You could’ve trusted me to handle it.”“Trusted you?” I laughed bitterly. “You mean the way you’re still protecting her? Defending her? God, Dante, you were engaged to Valentina. Why wasn't I informed about that? I thought she's just a bitter ex girlfriend but she was your fiancée. Do you think I don’t see it? You still lov

Dante’s POVThe party carried on like nothing had happened. Laughter, splashes in the pool, champagne flutes clinking under the sun. But something had shifted. I felt it before I even saw it.Leona sat beside Gianna now, her sarong drawn tightly around her waist. She looked composed, perfectly poised. Too poised. The way her lips curved in polite amusement, the way her hands rested delicately on her lap, controlled. But I knew her better than anyone in this place. The tightness around her eyes gave her away. She wasn’t fine.I excused myself from Alex with a hand on his shoulder, ignoring his ramble about shipment routes, and crossed the pool deck. People parted easily for me, their conversations dipping just slightly as I passed. Power was like gravity, it pulled eyes whether you wanted it or not.“Enjoying yourself, bella?” My shadow fell over her as I stopped by her chair.Leona glanced up at me, her expression smooth. Too smooth. “Of course.”I studied her. Sunlight painted her sk

  • THE DON'S FAVORITE OBSESSION    Chapter 20: Heat Between the Sheets

LEONA’S POVI woke up to warmth. Not the gentle, safe kind of warmth, but the kind that made my pulse spike and my thighs clench before my brain even caught up.The first thing I registered was a body. Hard muscle, radiating heat, pressed against me like a living furnace. My cheek rested against the bare chest, heartbeat steady beneath my ear. And then… lower. That's when it clicked. Dante's body.Something big, thick and solid nudged against me...no, against my bare skin. My breath hitched as realization struck like a lightning bolt: my silky nightdress had ridden up in my sleep, bunched around my waist, and I wasn’t wearing panties. His briefs… well, let’s just say they weren’t exactly containing him because I could feel the tip.And I was moving.God. I’d been grinding against him in my sleep, my slickness gliding over the tip of him. The evidence was undeniable, the heat pooling between my legs, the tension in his body, the way his hips had gone rigid under me. I started praying a
