Orion placed a hand on his waist, scanning the room he was earlier on, the place himself and Elysia had stayed before their joint imprint.

He pressed his lips, walking outside the door to see if he was still going to see Elysia but after searching thoroughly for her, he gave up, directing his gaze towards the sky.

“You are not surprised Orion, nah, you are not,” he muttered under his breath, taking a step backward as he watched the reporters walk out of the room in large numbers.

Twenty, if not more.

“Sir, I've been–”

“We're leaving now,” Orion cut the driver short, motioning towards the car that was parked about twenty meters ahead. “I've a meeting to attend two hours from now, so make sure the car's ready in the next ten minutes, when you are done let me know.”

“Two meetings in one day?” The driver asked inaudibly or so he thought, but Orion heard him, turning towards him, with his hand still in the same position.

“What about it?” His brows shot up, and he tilted his head. “Do

Elysia’s eyes fluttered open to the insistent buzz of her phone alarm. For a moment, she didn’t know where she was; the ceiling above her was smooth and pale, not the faint cream color of her bedroom back home. The sheets around her were tucked too neatly, the pillows stacked with a precision she was never conscious of back at home. Then it was at that point it hit her: the hotel. Italy. The first day of her book tour. She rolled over and silenced the alarm, exhaling softly as the room fell into quiet again. Funny, she thought, how hotels always carried a subtle sense of impersonality, but this one? It had some similarities with her home, the soft hum of the air conditioner that seemed to remind her of the one from the living room some years ago, before she finally changed it into a bigger one. After laying there for almost forever, she heaved a sigh, rubbing off the remainder of sleep from her eyes. “All right,” she murmured to herself, throwing the covers aside. “Day one.”Her b

Jordan sank into his chair, tracing a line between his upper lips and the end of his nose, and he let out a long, loud sigh. “Exactly,” he broke the silence between them, along with the eye contact as he turned to the computer with a blank expression masking his face. “At the moment, that's the most valuable thing I've found.” “It's a headstart,” he added, gesturing towards an empty space in the office. Orion, who had been standing there, static, finally moved, following the upward and downward movement of his shoulder as he let out a heavy sigh, a glimmer of hope crawling to his face. “I’ve always known,” he spoke up finally, sitting on the couch. “There was th- this similarity when I saw the boy, but then…” He hesitated, like he was looking for the right words. “The girl,” he started, biting his lower lips. “I don't know if she's mine or not.” Jordan returned his focus to the laptop, turning it to Orion whose eyes widened.“This is the girl, Alina Alderidge,” Jordan pointed to

Orion hung up, walking towards the chair with a straight face, making it almost impossible for you to know that he just heard a convincing news. He walked towards the office table that was close to him, opening the drawer just as he got there, and he squinted, moving his gaze from one place to the other; he had searched his pocket earlier, but he did not find what he was looking for. “The heck?” He rose to his feet, placing his hand on his waist after searching his pocket again. He searched the top of the table, but still, he was not able to find it, and he slammed his fist on the table. “Fuck,” he cursed underneath his breath, his gaze darting between the table and the floor, close to the door since he thought it might have fallen there. Suddenly, it felt like a surge of realization surged through him, and he narrowed his gaze on his briefcase, approaching it, and just as he unzipped it, he heaved a sigh, falling to his chair just as he picked up the key. “Goodness gracious,” H

Elysia trailed behind the bodyguards who were with her luggage, and she took off her sunglasses as she edged closer to the hotel room. It was the 702nd room in the huge building. “Yes that's enough,” she said, taking some steps forward before coming to a stop, close to the guards. “Thanks.” A nod was all they did, but still, they remained close to it, their hands firmly clasped behind them.“You can go,” she ordered, leaving the key along the line of opening it. “I can do this myself, it's not heavy.” “It's no issue ma'am,” one of the men spoke up, causing a lad that was passing by to stop, before turning towards the direction of the voice, but one stare from the other bouncer was enough to make him turn to his front, irrespective of the fact that he was wealthy. “It's just a five step walk,” the man continued, picking up one of the bags effortlessly. “One person should be enough to do it.” “If you say so then,’’ she turned back to the door, pushing it wide open, and the man bro

Orion settled into his seat, placing his hands on the table, clasping it just beneath his jaw before scanning the faces of each and every one of the board members. “SoI believe you all know why I called you,” his baritone voice echoed in the four corners of the room, making all eyes glue on him. “If you don't, there's no need to worry since a circular will be shared now.” Nessa's expression twisted into something that screamed ‘confusion’ and she stepped forward, bending behind Orion.“I'm not with anything sir,” she whispered, lines appearing on her forehead. His gaze narrowed in that moment as he heard those words, turning towards Nessa before he finally rose to his feet, facing the members with a frown.“Give me ten minutes please,” he muttered, gazing at his wristwatch for a second. “I need to do something.” Although some of them were dissatisfied with it, in the end, they knew they just had to accept it since it was the first time something like that was happening.“Fine, we'

Calvin sat on the couch that was some meters away from the bed, clasping both hands together as he bent his head low, facing the ground with different thoughts running through his mind. None of which he said; he just remained there, sitting on that spot since he walked into the room.“We are done sir,” it was Betty, standing at Amanda's side with a tray that contained a syringe and other medical equipment. “But she'll fall asleep in the next twenty to thirty minutes sir.” “Is she strong enough to have this conversation?” Calvin asked, rising to his full height, something that had always made his presence known, along with his cologne. “I mean, will she be able to keep the conversation going for those minutes?” “I'm not sure, but it's highly unlikely,’’ Amanda stated from behind, taking a step forward. “But it's certain that she'd be able to speak for ten minutes.” “The problem we're having these days is that she loses more energy as time goes on,” Amanda added, her gaze darting be
