(Daniel's POV)That night I took my time to make chicken pepper soup for dinner. I got an expensive wine delivered to the house as well.Elena was here. She was home. But there was still a distance between us that I didn't know how to cover yet. But I took consolidation in the fact that as long as she was back home, it was doable.After dinner she went upstairs to shower while I cleaned up the kitchen, putting away dishes, and trying to keep my hands busy.When I came upstairs she was already in bed, sitting up against the pillows.
