Anastasia immediately jumped to her feet and spun around.

Her gaze swept across the clearing.

Left!

Right!

Nothing!

Just trees, rocks, and more trees.

Her brows furrowed.

Had she imagined it?

The voice had sounded real… Far too real.

Then…

Something shifted on the opposite side of the massive boulder beside her.

Anastasia stiffened.

A boy slowly came into view.

He was older than her… Much older.

He was stretched comfortably against the other side of the boulder, one arm tucked beneath his head.

The academy had several enormous training chambers, each designed for a different purpose. There were areas for magical combat, physical conditioning, and controlled demonstrations of supernatural abilities.Beyond the main chambers lay an open training field surrounded by high stone walls. Protective barriers shimmered faintly around its perimeter. Two students were sparring in the centre. One moved with incredible speed, while the other conjured a shield of blue energy to block an incoming strike.I leaned forward, fascinated. The shield cracked. The watching students cheered. My fingers twitched with excitement.Oh, I was definitely going to enjoy this."Students are expected to complete regular combat assessments," the instructor explained. "However, the intensity of their training depends on their abilities and level of control."I barely heard the last part.My attention remained fixed on the training field.I could already imagine myself standing there, testing my limits, disco

  • THE FORBIDDEN BOND OF FATE   Welcome to the Gifted Academy

ANASTASIA’S POVThe closer our carriage drew to the Gifted Academy, the more difficult it became for me to remain seated.I had heard countless stories about this place. Some described it as the most extraordinary academy in the supernatural world, while others spoke of it with a strange kind of caution that only made me more curious. But nothing had prepared me for the sight that greeted me when the carriage rounded the final bend.My lips parted. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. There it was… The Gifted Academy.Even from a distance, the academy looked enchanting. Towering black-stone structures rose majestically against the sky, their pointed rooftops reaching towards the clouds. Ancient towers stood at different corners of the vast grounds, connected by magnificent stone bridges that seemed to belong to another age.Tall trees lined the winding path leading to the academy, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. Beyond them, I could make out beautiful gardens, enormous

Lucien answered without hesitation.“As early as tomorrow.”Anastasia froze. For a moment, she simply stared at him, as if she needed to make sure she had heard him correctly.“Tomorrow?”The moment the word sank in, her entire expression changed. Her eyes widened. Then they sparkled with pure excitement.A delighted squeal escaped her lips.“Tomorrow!”She practically jumped where she stood, barely able to contain herself.“I’m leaving tomorrow!”Her face was glowing now, all traces of the earlier tension forgotten.Anana could only watch her daughter. She couldn't bring herself to share in the excitement.Instead, she stood quietly, her eyes fixed on Anastasia with a mixture of love, worry, and a fear she could not completely hide.Anastasia noticed. Her smile slowly faded into something softer. She turned towards her mother and stepped closer.“Mother…”Anana lifted her eyes to her.Anastasia gently rubbed her arm, her touch warm and reassuring.“I’ll be alright.”Her voice was quie

  • THE FORBIDDEN BOND OF FATE   The Price of Permission

Anastasia remained completely still. Her excitement had completely disappeared. She stared at her father, her heart suddenly beating faster.“On one condition.”The words continued to echo in her mind. What could it be?She had expected something difficult.Perhaps a long list of rules.Maybe restrictions on where she could go, who she could associate with, or how she was allowed to use her abilities.Knowing her father, it could have been anything. But Lucien said nothing. He simply watched her.The silence stretched between them.Anastasia shifted slightly beneath his gaze.“Father…”Still, he said nothing. Then, slowly, Lucien leaned back in his chair. Some of the rigid tension in his posture eased. He closed his eyes for a brief moment, as though gathering his thoughts. When he opened them again, the look in his eyes had changed. There was something deeper there… Something Anastasia couldn't quite understand. His gaze settled firmly on her.“You will always wear my mother’s neckla

  • THE FORBIDDEN BOND OF FATE   One Condition

Anana’s expression softened as she watched the excitement in her daughter’s eyes. For a brief moment, she simply looked at her. That bright anticipation… That innocent confidence.Anastasia truly believed this was just another opportunity. Another academy. Another place where she could learn, grow, and finally have a chance to become her own person. But Anana knew better. And that knowledge weighed heavily on her heart. Her worry did not fade… It deepened. Her fingers slowly curled against her palm as she fought to keep her voice steady.“Anastasia…”The softness in her voice made Anastasia look at her. There was no anger in her mother’s expression… Only fear.A deep, quiet fear that Anana was struggling to put into words.“You don’t understand.”Anastasia’s smile faded slightly. She watched as her mother rose from her seat and slowly walked towards her. Each step was measured, almost hesitant. When Anana finally stopped in front of her, she reached out and gently touched her daughter’

Anastasia stepped into the chamber. The moment she crossed the doorway, her eyes moved between her parents. Both Lucien and Anana were watching her… Too quietly.Anastasia slowed. Her gaze shifted from her mother to her father.Something was definitely wrong. Before Lucien could say a word, she sighed softly.“I hope I’m not in trouble this time.”Despite herself, the corner of Anana’s lips almost lifted.Lucien, however, remained completely serious. He studied his daughter for a moment before slowly raising the sealed parchment in his hand.“No.”Anastasia blinked.Lucien held the letter out slightly.“You’re not in trouble.”The tension immediately left her shoulders.“Oh.”She took a small breath of relief. Then her eyes fell on the parchment. Her brows drew together.“What’s that?”Lucien’s expression remained firm.“You’ve been transferred to the Gifted Academy.”Anastasia stared at him.For a moment, she seemed unable to process what he had just said. Then…Her eyes widened.“Th
