(Lily's POV)

I didn't know how to react when I saw Oscar there.

“Let's get this meeting started.” Alfonso said as he led me to a seat beside him. “I don't expect this to be a long meeting though, as I don't think I could agree to have you as an investor in my company as it would be a conflict of interest. You met my wife yesterday; what makes me think that you weren’t just doing that in an attempt to create a rapport with her?”

This isn't going to be good, I thought as I sat beside Alfonso. He didn't like that Frank and I spent the day with another man, but it's a different thing when the same man shows up at your office wanting to be an investor in your company.

“I don't think...” The man with Oscar started to say something, but Oscar put his hand on his arm as if to tell him he'd take care of it.

Oscar looked at Alfonso and me with a smile and said, “I am just the lawyer who is here to oversee this matter between you and my client, who is the one who is investing in your company.” H
