(Alfonso’s POV)I lowered my hood down so no one could see my face as I followed the lady at a safe distance. I had tried so hard to leave this life behind but it seemed like the life didn’t want to let me go.I watched as she looked around and knocked on a door at a shady apartment. This entire location seemed shady but the apartment building she walked into was known for its drug dealing.“Did anyone follow you?” The thin scrawny man asked as he looked around and pulled her inside.I did, I thought with my hands inside my hoodie.“No.” She yelped as she was pulled inside the apartment.I slowly made my way to the apartment. I knocked on the door paying close attention to the sound of footsteps approaching the door. I put my hand on the door handle and as soon as it turned I pushed it hard knocking the man to the floor, as I stepped inside and closed the door behind me.My eyes wandered across the room to see who else was in the apartment, just the lady I followed here getting coked

(Chris’s POV)I threw the bag filled with money in the back of my new truck. “Hurry up Lola, we don’t have the whole day!” I called out to the brown haired, beautiful lady as she walked down the marble steps of the five-star hotel we spent the night at.She shrieked as she rushed towards me, jumping as I grabbed her and kissed her. I still find it uncanny just how much she looks like Lily and even how they shared names but for now she was using her maiden name, Lola.“Where are we going next?” She asked excitedly.I smiled, “anywhere you want baby.” I replied as I led her to the other side of the car and opened the car door for her.I rushed back to the driver’s seat and I sped out of there.“I missed this kind of life.” Lola commented. “Al and I used to be a very fun and dangerous couple and I loved that about him. But now it’s all about taking care of that little brat and he focuses his entire time and energy on that company.” She sighed.I reached out to the bottom of my seat and p

(Lily’s POV)I had no idea what I was thinking this morning when I let him join me in the shower. I had been with Alfonso for only a few weeks and it was already going to my head. Why was I mad that he was going to work instead of spending time with me? But the big question was why did I kiss him or ask if he loved me?“What was I even thinking?” I asked out loud as I covered my face with my hands.“You were thinking that you are being a good mother?” A male voice chimed in making me turn to look at them.“And who are you?” I asked.“Oh, I’m Oscar. I’m Abby’s father.” He replied as he pointed to our children wo seemed to be hitting off quite well. “I thought that since our children are playing together maybe we could also sit together, I guess.” He chuckled, “that’s if you don’t mind.”“No, sure have a seat.” I said as I created room for him.I needed a distraction. I was getting too involved in this life that the line between my old life and new one was starting to blur out.“I have

(Alphonso’s POV)The next morning, I woke up to the smell of fresh coffee and toast. I sat up, perplexed, wondering who had made breakfast because Catherine knew I never ate breakfast at home, and Frank usually had pancakes.“Good morning, sleepy head.” Lily's voice spoke as she dressed in my shirt from the night before and held a tray of breakfast.I frowned in confusion and asked, “Since when do you make breakfast?” As she placed the tray in front of me.She chuckled, “I was excited that today was my first day of working at your office, so I thought I might give Catherine a break and just make breakfast myself.”I was expecting a bad breakfast because Lily had never been in the kitchen in the time I had known her.I took a sip of the coffee, and it was amazing, as if she had brewed it herself.“This is amazing; I didn't know you could cook.” I expressed my surprise.“You don't know much about me,” she chuckled, replied with a shrug: “Catherine will take Frank to school, and I will t

(Lily's POV)I didn't know how to react when I saw Oscar there.“Let's get this meeting started.” Alfonso said as he led me to a seat beside him. “I don't expect this to be a long meeting though, as I don't think I could agree to have you as an investor in my company as it would be a conflict of interest. You met my wife yesterday; what makes me think that you weren’t just doing that in an attempt to create a rapport with her?”This isn't going to be good, I thought as I sat beside Alfonso. He didn't like that Frank and I spent the day with another man, but it's a different thing when the same man shows up at your office wanting to be an investor in your company.“I don't think...” The man with Oscar started to say something, but Oscar put his hand on his arm as if to tell him he'd take care of it.Oscar looked at Alfonso and me with a smile and said, “I am just the lawyer who is here to oversee this matter between you and my client, who is the one who is investing in your company.” H
