“Aren’t you seeing that everyone is starting to sympathize with her because of this incident? Don’t tell me you want her to rise from the ashes and continue acting with Jason?”
Vivienne hesitated for a moment, but in the end, she refused to back down.
“I’m not going! I’d rather die than apologize to that bitch!”
What effect could such a small incident have?
All she had to do was buy a few small gifts later to smooth things over with these people.
Vanessa saw that Vivienne couldn’t be persuaded, so she could only leave things as they were and hope she wouldn’t cause any more trouble.
It was already a foregone conclusion that Isabella’s reputation would be destroyed. No matter what schemes she tried, she could only rely on petty tricks like these.
How could she possibly turn things around?
Vanessa estimated that the mysterious sponsor behind Isabella would abandon her soon enough. After all, who would want a lover with a terrible reputation who cheated on him?
Thinking this, she finally calmed down.
In the end, to prevent further conflict, Director Phil decided not to reshoot the previous scene and instead used the clip where Isabella spat out blood.
The next scene scheduled for filming was one where Natalie had just been bestowed the title of Consort, while Consort Katherine had lost favor and was thrown into the Cold Palace. Natalie entered the Cold Palace to visit her and reveal her true identity.
Luckily, this scene was relatively safe.
It relied mostly on expressions and dialogue—very little action.
“Three, two, one… Action!”
Filming began.
Inside the Cold Palace, Consort Devan sat in a wide chair, looking down disdainfully at the pitiful figure collapsed at her feet.
“Consort Katherine, do you know why I hate you so much? Why I want to push you to your death?”
“Bitch! You’re clearly jealous of me! Jealous that the Emperor favors me!”
Consort Devan laughed, as though she had just heard the most ridiculous joke in the world.
“You think I’m jealous? Of the favor of that rotten old man?”
“Devan! Have you gone mad? I’m going to tell the Emperor! I’m going to tell him you insulted—”
Consort Devan shot her a cold, sinister look, instantly silencing her.
Then, word by word, she said—
“Katherine… I wonder if you remember the name… Natalie Frostman?”
“You… you…” Vivienne faltered, unable to continue.
“Cut! Do it again!” Phil snapped.
Second take.
“Katherine… I wonder if you remember the name… Natalie Frostman?”
This time, Isabella’s gaze was even sharper, her words tightening around Vivienne’s throat like a noose.
“You… you are… are…”
“Stop. Again!”
Third take.
“Katherine… I wonder if you remember the name… Natalie Frostman?”
This time, Isabella’s tone was chilling—like a vengeful spirit come to claim a life. Even the surrounding crew could feel the overwhelming wave of resentment and fury.
“You… you’re Natalie Frostman? How could you be… be… be…”
Vivienne froze again.
“Cut!”
This time, Director Phil completely lost his patience. He threw the script aside, his voice thundering across the set.
“Vivienne, what is wrong with you? You can’t even remember such a simple line? Do you even read the script at all?!”
He had every right to be furious.
Isabella had executed the scene perfectly, pulling everyone into the atmosphere. It could have been flawless—but Vivienne’s repeated mistakes had completely ruined it.
The staff watching from the side began whispering among themselves, their expressions full of scorn.
“Is Vivienne serious? Repeating the same line over and over—I can recite it myself now!”
“‘You’re Natalie Frostman? How could you be Natalie Frostman? She’s already dead!’ It’s not even a long line. How hard is it to memorize?”
“That post said Isabella’s acting was bad—but look at Vivienne. That’s what real trash acting looks like.”
“Honestly, Isabella is actually really good. Have you noticed? Almost all her scenes are done in one take. The only NGs are because of other people.”
“You’re right! Yesterday, I thought she was just being herself, but she completely nailed young Natalie!”
“And the way she teased Jason—it didn’t feel awkward at all. It actually made my heart race!”
“Exactly! If they replace her now, I won’t even watch anymore. In my mind, Isabella is Natalie Frostman.”
Vanessa had not expected things to spiral this badly. Internally, she cursed Vivienne a hundred times over.
Outwardly, however, she maintained a concerned expression as she walked over.
“Vivienne, what’s wrong? Are you not feeling well today?”
Vivienne was on the verge of losing her mind.
“I don’t know what’s happening! Every time I look at Isabella, my mind just goes blank—it’s like I’ve been cursed!”
Vanessa didn’t believe her.
She simply assumed this was the result of Vivienne’s usual laziness and poor acting skills. Still, she kept her composure and comforted her.
“Take it slow. I’ll run the lines with you.”
After going through the scene together, Vivienne was finally able to recite her lines smoothly.
“See? You can do it,” Vanessa encouraged.
Vivienne’s confidence immediately returned. She hurried over to the director.
“Director, I’m ready now!”
By this time, Phil had calmed down slightly. His expression was more composed.
“Alright. Let’s begin.”
However…
The moment filming started again—
Vivienne forgot everything.
Again.
She grew increasingly frustrated, insisting on retrying over and over.
In the end—
She NGed twenty-eight times.
What should have been an easy scene dragged on until nightfall, yet still remained unfinished.
The entire crew began complaining.
They were filming a movie, not a TV show. Every extra take meant wasted time, manpower, and money.
By the thirty-third NG—
Vivienne stood frozen.
Then suddenly—
She screamed like a madwoman and lunged at Isabella.
“Isabella! You bitch, what did you do to me?! Why can’t I remember my lines?! Why?! It’s you! You did this!”
The assistants rushed forward to restrain her, but in her frenzy, she shoved them aside—even scratching Vanessa in the process.
That was the final straw.
“She’s insane…”
“She can’t remember her lines and she’s blaming others?”
“What does she think—someone can crawl into her brain and erase her memory?”
“She doesn’t even feel guilty for making everyone stay this late!”
“Poor Isabella… to provoke someone like that…”
“Don’t you think what happened last night is suspicious? All this started right after Jason came on set…”
“If Isabella gets kicked out, who benefits the most?”
“Do you even need to ask?”
At those words—
Everyone exchanged knowing looks.
“Because they couldn’t make it back to the city in time, she was sent to the only hospital in the town. That night, another pregnant woman was also sent in…” What happened then? ” Alexander asked, even though he had roughly guessed what had happened next. Isabella shrugged, “It caused a drama! That small hospital had very few staff and a disorganised system, so the two female babies were swapped… and this mistake continued for 18 years! Did you know? Vanessa even has the same blood type as me, so this matter stayed hidden! ” “Then how was it discovered later on? ” She turned and smiled at Alex, “About that, well, I should thank that unbridled uncle of mine! ” “Arthur Hartley? Alex had some impression of him, but didn’t know much. He only knew that he was one of the more well-known people amongst the younger generation back then in the capital. “That’s right. My uncle was a playboy. Even after marriage, he continued sowing his wild oats outside and even caused quite a few deaths…
After getting the medicine, Alexander was just about to knock on the door when the bathroom door was abruptly pulled open by the person inside. Tightly wrapped up in a large bath towel, Isabella hopped out like a furry little bunny. “Careful! ” Anxious that she would trip and fall, he quickly stepped forward and supported her. Isabella sighed and spoke sincerely, “I’m not that fragile, you're being dramatic! ” Alexander looked at her and sighed helplessly. “I brought the medicine. Do you need my help? ” Alexander asked. “Ohh, no thank you, I'll apply it myself! ” Isabella spoke calmly as she smiled. She continued hesitantly, “About that, I’m not wearing any clothing underneath. ” Alexander nodded and handed her the medicine. Then, he took the initiative to leave, “I’ll wait for you outside. ” “Sounds good. Oh, right! Along the way, please help me check to see if my clothing, purse, and other belongings are out there! ” “Okay. ” Alexander walked into the living room. After lo
“Alex!! Alexander!!” He hastily threw aside what he was holding and ran next to the bathroom door, “Bella, what’s wrong? ” “Alex!! ” Isabella screamed with obvious pain in her voice “I’m here!. Come inside ” “Hurry up! Hurry, hurry up! Ahhhh…” “You… are you alright? What happened?” Alex was getting more and more nervous, but he didn’t dare to simply push the door open and enter. “My leg is cramping! It’s cramping! Hurry up, shut up, get in here and help me! Oww…” “…” Alexander facepalmed in both relief and helplessness before quickly pushing open the door and entering. The water was cold so there wasn’t any vapor inside. After being thoroughly soaked, her clothing had become completely transparent. He swallowed slightly. Even though he hadn’t been drugged, his degree of suffering wasn’t any less than Isabella’s.“Alex….. Alexander?” Isabella’s calling brought him back to reality. He quickly walked over, “Which leg is it? ” “The right leg! The right leg! ” her face had turned
The suite remained deathly silent except for Isabella’s uneven breathing.Alexander sat quietly on the edge of the bed while the girl stayed curled weakly against him, her trembling fingers clutching tightly onto his shirt as though terrified he would disappear the moment she let go.The scarlet rose petals scattered across the white sheets now looked almost ironic.Alexander lowered his gaze toward the top of her head. Her body still trembled from time to time. The drugs hadn’t completely worn off yet.His eyes darkened slightly.“Bella,” he called softly. No response.Only a faint hiccup.Alexander carefully brushed away the damp strands of hair stuck to her tear-stained face. Her swollen red eyes and the slap mark lingering on her cheek made the coldness in his gaze deepen instantly. However, when he spoke again, his voice remained unbelievably gentle.“Can you stand?”Isabella remained silent for a few seconds before giving a tiny nod against his shoulder.Alexander slowly helped
Julian stood lazily by the doorway with the room card still dangling between his fingers. The suite lights were dim.Soft music played quietly in the background while the scent of roses and expensive perfume lingered heavily in the air.“Tsk… Durges really went all out…” he muttered under his breath. The woman on the bed remained motionless.Rose petals were scattered across the sheets and over her body, partially covering the thin silk nightgown clinging tightly to her skin. From where he stood, all he could see clearly were her legs.Long. Pale. Barely concealed beneath the translucent fabric.Julian clicked his tongue.“No wonder that old bastard looked so nervous…”He stepped further into the room casually, intending to take one look before leaving. After all, no matter how beautiful she was, he had no interest in touching a woman another man had prepared.Too troublesome. However, just as he approached the bed, the woman shifted slightly.A weak sound escaped her lips.“Mmh…”Jul
When Isabella walked out of the hospital, it was already late into the night. There were no stars in the sky, and even the moon hid behind layers of dark clouds. Only a few scattered cars moved along the empty streets. She had to admit that although Vanessa’s plan had been crude and reckless, it had still achieved its purpose in the end.Reputation damage.Vanessa always attacked the things Isabella cared about most.Gabriel, for example. Her parents.Sometimes, Isabella even found herself doubting her own existence, wondering if everything truly was her fault. Was she really that unbearable? Was she truly so terrible that everyone around her eventually grew to hate her, despise her, and abandon her?For the first time in a long while, exhaustion seeped into her bones.Even if she eventually achieved all her dreams… even if she climbed to the top someday…Would anyone genuinely care?In the end, she was still alone.Isabella wandered absentmindedly along the roadside, completely lost
Vanessa immediately switched to a bashful expression the moment she saw Gabriel approaching.“It’s because of you…” she complained softly, hitting his chest in a flirtatious manner.Gabriel looked completely helpless. “You were clearly the one seducing me.”Then he lifted the plastic bags in his ha
The couple returned to the dressing room with depressed and dejected expressions.Vanessa stood silently in front of Gabriel before a tear slipped down her cheek. Her voice trembled softly, fragile and pitiful.“Baby… do you blame me? Do you blame me for not agreeing to Bella’s request…?”Gabriel’s
At the film set—As soon as Isabella arrived, she was informed that the filming schedule had been changed. The reason was that Jason had suddenly taken leave due to family matters. That guy would complain beside her for half the day over things as insignificant as a fart, yet when something this ma
