Tell me about yourself

After getting the medicine, Alexander was just about to knock on the door when the bathroom door was abruptly pulled open by the person inside. 

Tightly wrapped up in a large bath towel, Isabella hopped out like a furry little bunny. 

“Careful! ” Anxious that she would trip and fall, he quickly stepped forward and supported her. 

Isabella sighed and spoke sincerely, “I’m not that fragile, you're being dramatic! ” 

Alexander looked at her and sighed helplessly. 

“I brought the medicine. Do you need my help? ” Alexander asked. 

“Ohh, no thank you, I'll apply it myself! ” Isabella spoke calmly as she smiled.

She continued hesitantly, “About that, I’m not wearing any clothing underneath. ” 

Alexander nodded and handed her the medicine. Then, he took the initiative to leave, “I’ll wait for you outside. ” 

“Sounds good. Oh, right! Along the way, please help me check to see if my clothing, purse, and other belongings are out there! ” 

“Okay. ” 

Alexander walked into the living room. After looking around for a short while, he discovered a clothing hamper in the corner. All of her personal belongings were inside. 

A light lit up inside her purse. There was an incoming call on her muted phone. 

Alex casually swept a glance over it. A second later, his pupils suddenly shrank. 

Two distinct letters had popped up on the caller id ——NS!

The call didn’t cut off and the screen continued to flash. 

He stared for more than ten seconds. In the end, he used his slender finger to pick up the phone and accept the call. 

On the other end of the phone, there was a sound of trickling liquid, like someone was pouring wine. Immediately, a husky male voice spoke, “Hello love….have you received my present yet?..... Happy Birthday. ” The man on the other side of the phone said in a deep British accent. 

“…” Alexander didn’t speak

“Hello? ”

After about five seconds, right when Alex had assumed that the other person wouldn’t speak again, the voice that carried a tinge of wicked charm spoke again, “Heh, you’re not Isabella! ” 

Alexander remained silent. 

Next, the familiar sound of a wine glass lightly tapping against glass rang out. Following that, the man continued to speak with some intrigue, “Then who are you? Let me guess… You’re definitely a man… A man who is with her at this hour… Are you friends with benefits or currently dating? ” 

The man paused and then let out a deep chuckle. His tone held dangerous, hidden malice, “Ah, if you guys are dating, then has she told you that she’s having an affair? Yeah, that’s right. Furthermore, I’m the other man. ” 

What was he trying to say? 

Just as Alexander was going to probe for more information, the cell phone suddenly went black. It had actually run out of battery and turned off on its own. 

He remembered the two letter initials (NS) from one of Julian's gossips, so Alexander had always thought the person was her ex, but from what the man had said over the phone, sounded like him and Isabella were still together ????.

Otherwise, why would he have mentioned ‘having an affair’? 

If Isabella had a boyfriend, she had simply never mentioned it before? 

When thinking of this possibility, Alex's expression turned chilly. 

“Alex, I'm done applying the medicine! Are my things there? ” 

“They’re here. ” Alex regained his senses and passed her belongings over. 

He waited until Isabella had finished changing before walking in again. 

After changing into her own clothes, she felt more at ease, and the atmosphere wasn’t as weird as before. Thus, she took off the blindfold. 

The moment she took off the blindfold, she then saw the man looking at her with an extremely complicated gaze. She subconsciously touched her face and said in confusion, “Is something the matter? ” . 

Alex sat on the side of the bed, “Isabelle, could you tell me about yourself, mainly personal matters? ” 

“Myself? personal matters? What matters? ” 

“Anything is fine. ” 

She felt that Alex was purposely changing the topic to shift her attention, so she thought for a moment before speaking up, “Then I’ll tell you about my hometown! ” 

Although that wasn’t the answer that he had expected, they would surely bump into that topic eventually. 

Furthermore, this was the only time, and the very first time she had ever talked about her personal matters to him. 

Alexander nodded, “Sure. ” 

“Okay, in the outskirts of the country, there’s a small town called Cowen west, Virginia.Uh, it's a small place, you might not know it! ” 

“I know of it. The scenery there is good. They've filmed a few movies there, right? ” 

When Isabella heard that, she got excited, “That’s right, that’s right! So you knew about that! ” 

She coughed once, “Most importantly, because the town hasn’t been developed much, so the environment there is really good and the air is very fresh! ” 

“A few years ago, Julian clamoured to go fishing there a few times, but I was too busy with work then, so we ended up not going. ” There was some regret in Lu Tingxiao’s voice. If he had gone then, would he have met her earlier?

Alex didn’t push her, but simply waited for her quietly. 

Isabella took a deep breath and continued speaking as if she were narrating a story, “Madam Hartley had been prepared to stay in Cowen town for the duration of her pregnancy, and was going to give birth back in the city. She didn’t expect that she would accidentally induce labour, causing the child to be born early…”
