MIA

I watch as the once chaotic table turns dead silent. Everyone is eating and is so focused on the food like it’s the most interesting thing in the world. I’m a bit grateful for it; at least no one is probing about my identity.

“James,” Mr. Lombardi Senior suddenly calls, and the other man in turn sits up immediately.

“Sir.”

“How’s the modeling agency coming along?” he asks, gently chewing on his food without looking at the person he’s talking to.

“Very well, sir. All thanks to you.” James states proudly. “The models are walking for almost all brands this season. I’m genuinely excited for what is to come.”

Olivia mouths his words mockingly and silently laughs at her own antics. James’s wife rolls her eyes at the gesture.

“I checked your financial books. It seems like more money is being spent on vacations than model training.”

“The thing is…”

“I’m going to go through it again in a month. Maybe my eyes are faulty or the leadership needs restructuring.” Grandfather says with finalit

  • THE HOSTAGE'S DILEMMA    New Canvas

MIADrew's car stops in front of the house, and I practically leap out before the engine even dies. "Thanks," I mumble, already halfway to the house. I don’t hear him reply. I even doubt he replied. My head is a mess. “Aaron doesn’t do relationships. You’ll be heartbroken.” he'd said, his voice low and cautious. I try not to think much about it but his words stuck to me. The way he'd made it clear I was playing a game I didn't understand, a game with rules he wrote.I shove the thought away and practically run up the steps and inside. For some reason, the house I was excited to return to now feels like a cage. I walk towards the kitchen, hoping to find a snack or anything to put my mind at ease.Stella is humming softly as she wipes down the counters. She’s always been in the kitchen and I wonder if she has a family outside. Her entire day is spent here and when she is not here, she’s at home. She never really pays attention to my affairs. Most of the time, I’m the one yapping to he

  • THE HOSTAGE'S DILEMMA    The Cold Shoulder

MIAI wake up with a smile on my face. I can’t even begin to imagine how perfect last night was. After the car, I was ready to block out all ghosts of Aaron but when he came knocking on my door, I knew it wasn’t going to work.Maybe I do like him.I sit up on the bed and notice the other side of the bed is empty. The clock says past twelve so I’m not surprised Aaron is already awake. The memory of his hands all over my body flashes through my mind and I groan as butterflies invade my stomach. The picture frame by the door shattered on the floor and I realized it happened last night. Just how desperate we were last night. The fact that Aaron was able to stop himself last night made my heart flutter. I was ready to give in last night but he just held me to sleep. My neck stings and I head to the bathroom to check it out. A gasp escapes my lips as I see the plethora of hickeys on my neck. My neck is all red. Some are hand marks and the rest are bite marks. I smile shyly at the thought. H

  • THE HOSTAGE'S DILEMMA    Lost In The Moment

AARONI watch as Mia runs inside the house barefooted and I smile. Man, am I done for? I can still feel her body merged in mine. Her lips, body, breasts on my chest, legs straddling me.. I’m really done for. I feel myself getting hard all over again. Mia is something else. One minute, I want nothing to do with her and the next, I’m summoning ancestral self control not to take her in the car. “Either shut the mouth of that source or step down from leadership.”My grandfather’s words are enough to quench whatever fire Mia lit in me a few minutes ago. I spent barely ten minutes inside his office but it was enough to knock me back to reality. I need to put an end to this cat and dog chase. Most importantly, keep the business out of radar and.. protect her.The girl who is supposed to be my suspect is suddenly the one I want to risk it all protecting. I need to be serious.I lock the car and head inside. My kitten will have to leave the room and talk business. I walk to her room and hear

  • THE HOSTAGE'S DILEMMA    Uncontrollable Desire

MIAThe ride back to Aaron’s house is so quiet. The air is tense and I wonder what happened inside his grandfather’s office. Did he get scolded? Did he lose control over the family business? What makes it even more tense is the fact that his hand never left mine since the main house and now they are resting on my exposed thigh. He parked right in front of the house and let out a deep sigh. I can see the worry lines stretch on his face.“Are you okay?” I ask softly. He just rests his head against the car seat and tugs on my hand.“Come here.”Just two words and I am already unclasping the seat belt. I sit up wondering what he wants me to do but before I can even ask, his hands grab me and sit me on his legs. Aaron finds the lever of his seat and reclines it. I let out a tiny squeal as we both went down together. He doesn't say a word, just leans in, his eyes a dark, unreadable abyss, and wraps his arms around my waist. My heart hammers in a scattered rhythm against my ribs, a chaotic d

  • THE HOSTAGE'S DILEMMA    The Lombardis Family Dinner

Especially when all their eyes are on you. Their questioning gazes and glares. “Damn, she’s hot.” I heard a man say and I squirm. Immediately the hall is filled with chattering and noise like they did not all spend a few minutes scrutinizing me.I feel Aaron lean closer to me. “I said I’ll protect you but this is all on you.” He whispers, “You’re gorgeous, Kitten.”That’s all it took for the entire butterflies in my stomach to erupt in a wild fest. Aaron has been different since we arrived and I don’t want to ask about it in case he lets up his walls. But if it takes the both of us being in this dangerous place for him to be caring then I’m ready to risk my life.
