BUT WHAT?

Marcus gasped, awakening to a sharp pain in his limb. He struggled to rise but found himself immobilized by the bullet lodged in his leg, rendering him unable to move and use his legs.

“Leave her alone, or I'll call the cops," Marcus threatened.

“Dare me," the man retorted, pointing a gun at Marcus, showing him that he wouldn't hesitate to shoot if he provoked him.

“We can negotiate. Name your price, and I'll pay any amount you want," Marcus offered.

The man scoffed dismissively. "We're not interested in your money, nor do we want anything from you," he responded.

“Then what do you want from her?” Marcus demanded.

“It's not about what we want from her; it's about what our boss wants from her,” the assailant replied.

Suddenly, the sound of a car pierced the air as a ford car pulled up between them before it opened and Mark emerged, carrying a bag of restraints, which he tossed to his accomplices.
