chapter twelve

"who are you?" I asked back.

She was shocked by my reply " you silly disgusting little human have some nerve don't you?"  She spat angrily

Did she seriously just say that? She just met me and she's already insulting me? Wow!

"And you're a silly disgusting dog" I retorted.  I'm the kind of person who was nice to only people who were nice to me. If you wanna be a bitch to me then two can play at that game.

She looked at me in shock, it seemed as if this was the first time a human had talked back to her, much less insulted her. I ignored her completely and continued eating my breakfast like no one was there.

She moved so fast that I didn't even notice her movement until she was right in front of me, snatching my plate and throwing it on the floor. It broke into a million pieces from the sheer  force she had used.

"What the heck!" I gasped

"Now you listen to me you irritating pest, I'm gonna give you three seconds to scurry out of this house before I fucking shred your body into pieces with my teeth" she yanked my hair back forcefully and i felt like my scalp was on fire. I held her hand trying to release it from griping my hair but she was strong, way too strong for a mere human to handle.

"You bitch! Let go of me!" I yelled in pain.

"Really? Okay" she said cheerfully. She yanked my hair harder and pushed me with so much force that I went flying across the room. I hit my back on the wall and I could hear the loud cracking sound of my bone. I felt dizzy for a few seconds, or maybe minutes and my vision became blurry.

Alpha Duncan had always told me that wolves had a hot temper and I should learn to keep my mouth shut around them, considering the fact that I was human. Today I wished I had actually listened to him for once.

"Did you not hear me the first time! Why are you not scurring out of here like the vermin that you are. Get the fuck out of my house!" She yelled with so much power that I could tell that she was definitely an alpha just like alpha Duncan. This was exactly how I always felt whenever he yelled angrily. Afraid

What did she mean by house? Does she live here?

I felt a throbbing pain at the back of my head but I quickly ignored it the moment I saw Kayden run down (or leap down rather) the stairs with inhumane strength.

"Stay away from my mother!" Kayden yelled

Beatrice was a few steps behind him, holding a towel in one hand and Kayden's clothes in the other. Beatrice gasped in horror when she saw the scene in front of her.

"Kayden no!" I said with as much strength as I could muster.

"Mother?" She asked surprised. She looked from me to kayden. "You had the audacity to bring your fucking son here?" She said angrily

"Miss Liliana it is not what you think" Beatrice said hurriedly, both her hands and her voice were shaking at this point.

"A human and her son is in the same house where his royal majesty lives and you say it is not what I think!" She was more than furious. She looked like she was ready to shift into wolf form and shred us all to pieces.

"No miss Li...li..ilana, th... th" Beatrice was stuttering so much that she couldn't construct a simple sentence.

"Just forget it maid! You are FIRED!" She growled

"N..n..no please" Beatrice said in horror

"As for you human, I hope you said goodbye to your family because this is your last day on earth" she said with venom laced in her words.

I wanted to say something, I wanted to protect Kayden from her but I was slowly loosing consciousness. No you have to awake Claire! For Kayden.

She bared her fangs at me and leaped towards me to attack, but Kayden did something I hadn't expected. He turned into a wolf and bit into her side , catching her mid air. My five years old son was protecting me.

Liliana fell on the kitchen table, breaking it into two while Kayden landed on his feet,  he snarled at her like a predator ready to devour it's prey. For the first time I was afraid of what my son could do and it seemed like Liliana was too.

"IMPOSSIBLE!" Liliana said with a gasp. She was bleeding on her side, but she paid no mind to it as if it was a simple scratch. She stared at him in wonder and fascination.

"Humans cannot give birth to wolves. This cannot be your son human! Whose son did you steal!" She said angrily

Kayden growled loudly at her, daring her to take one step closer to me.

"Listen to me little wolf, this is not your mother okay. She is lieing to you" she said to Kayden, trying to make him understand

I was weak and tired and I could feel all the energy draining from my body. " Get the hell away from my son" I whispered but I was sure that she could hear me.

"This is not your fucking son you tramp!" She said to me in disgust

Kayden growled at her again and she took a step back.

She took a long whiff of the air " you're not an ordinary wolf are you? No, you're much stronger than that. Wolves don't turn this young unless.......no it can't be"

I felt something trickle down my shoulders, only then did I realize that I was bleeding. I looked down and saw a puddle of blood behind me, my jeans was already getting soaked but I hadn't noticed any of it because I was paying attention to Kayden.

"What the fuck are you doing Liliana!" Jacobi asked in a voice that made the whole building shake.
