chapter eleven

I furrowed my brows "what do you mean OUR room?" I asked

"It's as simple as it is babygirl" he said

"Okay I know I didn't say anything before we left the pack, but I need to make this clear to you. We are not sharing a room together" I said enunciating every word clearly

He took a step closer to me like a predator, his enormous frame was caging me in, leaving no room for escape. My heart rate quickened and my throat went dry, a feeling of dread began to creep into me as I was a prey. His prey.

"Listen here babygirl" he whispered in my ear. I could feel his hot breath fanning my skin and a tiny part of me, a part that was buried deep within felt a sudden rush that tightened a knot in my stomach. Memories of that night began to resurface but I quickly dismissed them.

"a lot of wolves, even the ones with mates would do anything to be in my bed. So you better do as you're told"  he said

I was suddenly brought back to the present. What the heck! Who the fuck does he think he is? He might have had women wrapped around his fingers all his life but I wasn't going to be one of them. What alpha Duncan and beta Morris had said was ringing in my head like a mantra but I just couldn't help the next words that came out of my mouth.

" You can go fuck yourself if you think you can control me. I am not your puppet that you can just tell what to do, I'm sleeping in Kayden's room" I said through gritted teeth.

I walked out of the room and into Kayden's room. The moment I closed the door, I let out a heavy breath I was holding. That was fucking terrifying!

Despite alpha Duncan's warning I still went ahead and talked back to him.

"I definitely have a death wish" I whispered to no one.

Why would he even think that I would want to sleep in thesame room with him to begin with anyways. We had a one  night stand that ended up with a kid but that doesn't mean we're just gonna live happily ever after as if this was a stupid Cinderella story. He can kiss my ass if he thinks that I need a knight in shining armor.

The next morning, I woke up late because I couldn't fall asleep early. Kayden wasn't in the room when I woke up and I almost had a mini panic attack but then I remembered that he was safe.

"Good morning" I said the moment I got to the kitchen.

I had spent more than ten minutes trying to find my way around the house, thankfully I found a servant who took me to where Kayden was.

"Good morning mommy" Kayden said with food stuffed in his mouth.

"Don't talk when there's food in your mouth Kayden" I said to Kayden and he gave me a sheepish smile.

"What would you like for breakfast madam" the servant whose name was Beatrice said

"Oh I was thinking of making it myself if that's okay with you" I said politely

"Of course madam" she said with a bow

"Do you know where Jacobi....I mean his majesty is?" I asked Beatrice

"His majesty had a meeting with an alpha this morning. He will be back soon" Beatrice replied

"Okay thanks" I said

Beatrice seemed to be a very nice person, or maybe that was how all the maids were supposed to be.

I finished making breakfast and then sat down next to Kayden, by then he was already done with his food and was busy playing with his toys.

"Kayden when I'm done eating we'll go upstairs to give you a bath okay" I said

"Don't worry madam, I will give Kayden a bath" Beatrice said

"Really?" I asked in bewilderment

"Of course" she said with a laugh " his royal majesty has assigned me to help you with whatever you might need and that includes taking care of Kayden"

"Well I wasn't expecting that" I said nervously

And I had thought I accidentally met her in the halls, who knows if she was actually looking for me

Beatrice took Kayden upstairs to give him a bath and I continued eating my breakfast. I was halfway through finishing my breakfast when the doors suddenly burst open and a women who looked like  she belonged in the cover of a Vogue magazine walked in. She wore a blue dress that left little to the imagination and her hair was a striking shade of brown with pink highlights.

"Who the fuck are you?" She asked in an overly high pitched voice.
