MasukChapter 6
Seth's POV
I know that it's a lot for her to leave everything behind and follow me but she doesn't have a choice. This is a dangerous territory and the more time she stays here the more harm her enemies would incur on her and her innocent son.
It baffles me that he looks just like my late mother but she doesn't know and I don't intend to tell her.
“I would ask you a question and I want an answer immediately. Don't fucking test my patience. I'll pull this trigger once you lie to me.” I wanted confirmation that he was her child and not a nanny to the young lad she was carrying on her shoulders.
“What is this all about?” She asked, turning her eyes around.
“Is he your son?” I asked her, but she hesitated to answer. Three rounds left in my gun, I shot one in the hair and pointed next to her forehead.
“Fine, he's my son. His name is Alexander. Does it settle your curiosity?” I didn't respond to her question, I opened the door for her to get in.
She dropped her son in the backseat and got to sit beside me. I knew she wanted her son to have all the comfort he could get.
“I don't think this is the right idea. That bar has been my source of peace and happiness. What am I without that bar? Who's going to run it like I do while I'm away?” She complained bitterly, it was evident through the tone of her voice.
“You have workers I guess.”
“Workers indeed. What if those men come looking for me and I'm not there? They could kill everyone in the bar.” Roselle lamented, running her hands through her hair.
“Yeah you're right, but a few of them dying isn't going to change the fact that you're an enemy to them, trust me they're hunting you.” I tried to make her calm since my son is
“It should be the other way around.”
“When you challenge someone in his territory, you've carved your name in their mind never to be forgotten.” I made it clear to her because she had to know. Staying back would mean war and that we don't have the time and weaponry for.
“I challenged no one, they came at me. Do you expect me to be defenseless or watch them take what's mine?” Roselle was bold, I liked that about her. She wasn't scared of anyone, she knew her way around a man's tool. Guns are meant for men, while knives are meant for women but I'm certain she's skilled at both.
“They would have taken your son and made you an epitome of mockery. You should be glad I saved you.” I chuckled softly keeping my eyes glued to the road, although I was stealing glances at her.
“I'm doing this for the sake of peace and I hate being forced.” She had her life placed in my palms, I'm a total stranger to her but I saved her from those men. No matter how skilled she is, once one of them gets a hold of her son, she's vulnerable and unable to do anything.
“Your son's asleep. Quit nagging, we're going to get to Italy and all this would be an aftermath.”
“I don't think there's an aftermath close. There's a roadblock ahead.” She mentioned, I knew following another route might get these bikers to start chasing us and I have just two bullets.
“Do you have an idea who they are?”
“Local bike gangs, just like the ones we met at the bar. They're just five men and how many bullets do you have left?” She ended her response with a question I didn't want to answer.
“I have two bullets.”
“You're going without your gun and if you can't talk to them, use a man as a shield against those bullets and don't forget to use your fists.” I wondered why she was speaking to me as if I was a child, she turned to her son who was still asleep.
Who wouldn't want to see his mother and father killing their enemies? I couldn't shake off the smile on my face knowing that she wanted to fight beside me.
I halted close to the roadblock, I got out of the car and went ahead to meet them.
I was shocked at the crocodile sign on their bikes, she was right about them being a local gang. But they were known for highway extortion of foreigners and I'm not familiar with them so I'm definitely a target for them.
“Who are you and where are you headed?” He asked, His brown hair locks looked amusing to me.
“I'm going out of town with my family.” I was bold at first but I just wanted to act normal.
“Why what's wrong with the city? Isn't it conducive enough for your wife and your son?” His voice felt fake.
“It is but we're in search of greener pastures.”
“That means you have a lot of money searching for greener pastures.” He had his hand on his gun tucked below his belt, staring at how tight the belt was; it would take roughly three seconds for him to get his gun out. It's enough time for me to kill one of them and use him as a shield but I'm not with my gun.
“I don't have a lot of money. This ride is a rented one and I'm returning it to the owner.”
“We can offer you one of our bikes in exchange for your lives and the car. It's a fair deal, what do you say boys?” I realized that the one speaking seemed a lot like their leader, he was the only one conversing with me at that moment.
“I don't think that's a right deal.”
“What's going on honey?” Roselle strolled out of the car, staring at her. I was stunned, she had her shirt unbuttoned exposing her cleavage.
They lost focus on what they were doing, the leader had his hand removed from his gun, I heard two gunshots while I punched the leader closest to me. I pulled out his gun as he fell to the ground, shot his other two colleagues in seconds and had his gun pointed to his forehead.
“Do you know what you've just done?”
“You shouldn't have bargained for the car, it's not worth it when a child is sleeping in the backseat. I can't let you disturb him.” I chuckled softly as I shot his head, I can't let one return back to his people and tell them what happened.
“Take their guns and go back to the car, I'll round up the bodies and their bikes.” I ordered, Roselle obeyed. She didn't ask questions.
She sat in the car and watched how I rounded up five dead bodies and their bikes and tossed a lighter to it.
We drove past the scene, the sound of the explosion made Roselle shudder but Alexander was still asleep.
“Why did you do that?” She should know that leaving bodies is a bad omen because prints can be found and it can lead them straight to us.
“No fingerprints, no trace, nothing that'll lead them to us. I don't think he's the leader so when the leader knows this, we will be long gone.” I looked over my finger and realized that one of my rings was missing.
I hope it melts in the fire… or there's definitely going to be a war which I'm not ready for.
Chapter 164Author's POV Jason and Scarlet went into the house, heading straight to his room. When she got to the hallway she remembered the shooting and wished that Robert wasn't killed. “I wished your father didn't kill him.”“He was about to rape you and yet you said we should have spared him. Come to think of it, there's no way we can do that. I don't want to sound rude to you but he deserved everything that happened to him.” Jason divulged, holding her hand as she led him into his bedroom. “What about finding your brother's killer? I mean that's what you're obsessed with at this point. What's stopping you from achieving that?”“This is the only lead I have. This fucking ring, I have to find who the owner is and if I do I'm going to avenge the death of my brother.” Scarlet was scared staring at the ring, she let the ring fall off her hands as she knew who it belonged to. “Have you seen this ring before?”“Not really Jason, I thought I did but it wasn't like this.” She uttered
Chapter 163Author's POV Carrillo was pleased that he was trying to see if he could make a good life out of this one. He knew that something was wrong with the way he didn't like the life that Jason had made for her. When they arrived at the warehouse, Carrillo was surprised that a man and a woman were already standing along with four armed soldiers. “I didn't know you guys would be early.” He uttered as he got out of the car, wearing a wide smile on his face.“Well we're here for the explosives so what's the deal?” Roy uttered as he stared at them. “Wowk straight to business.”“We'd like to give you half of the explosives and you'd still be giving us 20% of the explosives in cash before you can have your men back and what belongs to you so when next you want to think of transporting explosives into the country you'd give it a second thought.”“He's not joking with this deal. We should take it before he takes the offer and decide to arrest all of us. We don't even know if they hav
Chapter 162Author's POV Carlos arrived at Ali's fortress, he was a bit surprised that he had doubled his security which meant he had other enemies he was worried about. “I'm here to see Ali.”“Let him in.” Ali uttered while he was speaking to one of his workers. Carlos walked in with a stance wearing a smile on his face. “Ali, what's going on exactly? There are too many guards in one building.”“This is my home now so I have to make sure I'm protected and now that we're fighting against the Gustavos, I have to make sure nothing comes back to me and even if it did, I'll be able to defend myself with these men.” Ali divulged, Carlos swallowed the lump in his throat as he heard the word Gustavo. “I thought that was a myth. I remember the chaos they brought on this town.”“Same reason why I doubled my security, I need to know why you're fighting against a myth.” Ali conceded to his words, as he led him to his office so they could discuss privately.“According to the CCTV footage outs
Chapter 161Author's POV She got a call from one of her contacts at the border, she was wondering why they would be calling her by this time of the day. “We just found a large shipment of explosives and these men were riding in the back of a truck. You need to come down here before the Chief gets a hang of this.”“I'll be there in less than five minutes.” She was pleased that he found the truck and decided to call her first before calling the boss. “Carrillo we need to leave now, I just got a call. It's a ton of explosives and I wonder where it was headed.”“Well if it's explosives then they're meant for a certain group of people. Maybe a gang pissed off another gang outside Italy, you could be putting your hands in an international war. It's very risky.” Carrillo warned, letting her know his insights on her words. “Why do you know so much about Carrillo? You're not a cop, you were a taxi driver yet you know so much about gang dealings and everything.” She chuckled as she went int
Chapter 160Author's POV “I don't want this Jason, I need to know what's on your mind. You always want sex anytime we're together, we should talk about our future together.” Scarlet uttered as she stepped backwards from Jason. “Our future is alright and fine wherever it is and surely we're getting to it but come on you can't possibly say no to me.” Jason retorts as he steps forward. “Jason I'm not in the mood for this, I have other things in mind and this was never a part of it. I'm not a sex toy, I have emotions too Jason.” She maintained an arm's length away from Jason. “Are you running away from me Scarlet?” Jason asked, stretching out his arm to hold Scarlet's hand but she dodged his arm. “You look frustrated and you're letting this frustration lead you into doing something to clear your mind from your thoughts. Sex isn't…”“Since you know everything, why don't you give me what I want?” Jason chimed in on her words, grabbing her arm and dragging her close to him. Scarlet scr
Chapter 159Author's POV Carrillo performed a stunt as he got under the bridge in between two other black cars, it was hard for the cops to differentiate between them since they were not on the same lane with Carrillo. He took the next left and the cops kept pursuing the other black car in the middle. “That's how you lose the cops for good.” Carrillo chuckles as Lorette pulls him closer to her face, she kisses him deeply. “Let's go to my house Carrillo.” She stuttered as she picked up her phone and texted one of her colleagues. “Are you calling in sick today?” He asked, wearing a smile on his face. “Not really, telling them I'm chasing a lead on a rape case which I'm supposed to be doing but I'm not.” She chuckled while still typing the words on her phone. “You've got a rape case on your desk?” Carrillo asked, hoping she would go into details of the case. “Yeah we don't know who the man is, he's been a ghost for a while.”“You don't chase a rapist. You lure him into a trap, he
