chapter 2

Vera's POV

"Don't come in here!

I don't want you to catch the flu too!"

Nina's voice boomed from behind her closed door.

"But I can take care of you

I have a bowl of chicken soup with me!"

I shouted back to her looking down at the bowl of soup in my hands that had steam rising from it haven prepared it a few minutes ago.

"No no

Don't worry about it.

I-i can take care of myself. Mum is here to take care of me ,go to school"

I remained quiet and bit on my lower lip thinking.

Should I leave Nina in this condition and go to school?

Or I should stay and take care of her?

She wouldn't even let me see her.

I had come by her room an hour ago to find out why she wasn't here yet.

Luios was already waiting at the door to take us to school like he always does but 30 mins of waiting and Nina hadn't come down yet

"Nina isn't here yet"

Luios said for the fifth time now and I was getting worried,well more irritated then worried to be honest. He had a black cup of coffee in his hands with a leg placed on the seat and him sitted on the head of the seat.



"I'll go check"

I got out of the car and came to look for her after finding out she had a flu,I really wanted to see her but an hour later I am still here with the bowl of soup.

"Okay

I'll go to school and get notes for you and all the assignments. Okay!?"

I had finally given up.

Leaving Luios waiting out here wasn't the best option

The more time I spent here trying to get in the more time was lost so I finally decided to go with the less stressful option,at least what I saw as that.

"Okay"

I dropped the plate of soup on the side stool next to her door.

"Oh and send mum up her please!"

Her words came before I started walking off.

"Okay!

Bye!"

She didn't respond so I went on my way down the stairs.

"How's Nina?"

Mum asked once I came down ,stopping right in front of the stairs.

"Still sick i think.

I dropped the bowl of soup for her on the side stool next to her room.

She also wants you"

I picked my bag from the couch in front of me and wore it.

"Okay

Have a nice day honey"

Mum came closer and placed a soft kiss on my forehead like she always did

"You don't have lessons today

Right?"

Mum was asking about my piano lessons I took every day after school except on Fridays like today.

"No

Why?"

"Mum!"

Nina's shout came from upstairs interrupting the conversation

Mum ran upstairs not before telling me a goodbye and disappearing out of my

view.

"About time

You ladies always make me wait"

Luios whined when I came out and got into the car.

"Sorry

Come on we'll be late "I gave him a cheeky smile and he rolled his eyes at me and we took off.
