CHAPTER 3- NO SAFE WORDS

Natalie’s POV

I really didn’t know he’d want to punish me in place of Damon, I mean we are family after all, my thoughts were all over the place as I walked up stairs towards the door of the study, it was Lucien’s study but even his father didn’t dare to go in there.

If he wanted to punish me, why do it there, in the place where he never let anyone come into, my heart raced so hard I almost thought the sound was loud enough for the outside world to here.

I opened the huge doors to reveal a dimly lit room, he sat on his chair at the other end of the huge table that separated us, he wasn’t looking in my direction, but he already knew when I stepped in…

“Take a seat, pick up the blindfold, use it to tie over your eyes, you shouldn’t be able to see anything, I’d know if you did otherwise”

I let out a sharp sigh of relief before looking back at him

“Must I use the blindfold?” I asked quietly “I can close my eyes instead”

“Did I ask for your opinion?” He replied in a sharper colder tone

“I’m sorry” I paused for a brief second hoping he’d change his mind concerning the blindfold, but he was dead serious about it, I swallowed hard before tying the black cloth over my eyes.

“Good girl”

I adjusted the black silk over my eyes until there was nothing but darkness.

I sat nervously on the chair wondering what he was about to do next but there was absolute silence until I heard his chair creaking as he stood up and was walking towards me, I knew he was walking in my direction because I followed the sound of his boot

I felt his warm breath suddenly brush beside the crook of my neck before he finally spoke, slow and dangerously calm

“Nervous?”

The closeness of his warm body sent shivers crawling down my spine, I tightened my fingers against the desk firmly this time and finally responded to him. “No”

He chuckled softly, then rested his arm upon the chair I was seating on, making it to move backwards a bit “Lying already?”

I heard slow movement and the sound of desk drawer opening, minutes later something cool brushed slowly against my neck, something made of leather. A whip. My pulse raced instantly

“Do you know why you are here?”

“For punishment” I replied slowly

“Each time you get an answer wrong you get whipped… stand”

“I’m sorry, it won’t happen again…”

“Also, you only speak only when spoken to, when you’re in here, do you understand?”

“I do”

“Good… now… why are you here?” he asked again in a sharper more controlled tone

“Because I broke your rules” I was certain I got the answer right this time, but I let out a sharp sigh as the cold leather hit my skin hard

“Wrong” he walked away from me, tracing the handle of the whip on the desk “The reason why you are being punished is because you keep forcing me to protect you from your own stupidity”

He brushed his fingers suddenly against the tied blindfold at the back of my head and tightened it more

“You’re hurting people because of me” He hummed but didn’t give a verbal response to what I said then he finally spoke up “No”

I felt him lean in closer behind me, close enough for his voice to brush directly on my skin then he said “I hurt people when they forget what and where they are supposed to be in front of certain people”

“What do you mean…” he hits me with the whip again, harder this time

“You only speak when spoken to”

“But…” Another hit harder than the last across my skin, it stinged so badly, he spun me around to face him while my blindfold was still tied firmly

“You seem to enjoy this, don’t you? I clearly said, disobedience attracts punishment, and you seem to still do it anyway”

“I’m sor…” Another hit across my skin

“Open up” I was confused thinking of what he meant then I felt his finger on my lips, slow and deliberate with each stroke “Open…up”

I opened my mouth slightly, my heart racing in my chest then he stuck one finger in, I tried tilting my head backwards then he hit me with the whip one more time

I let out a soft faint moan

“Careful” He murmured behind me, his voice low and calm. “If you make noises like that again, I’ll take it that you are enjoying yourself”

I could hear his breathing, feel the warmth of his body, and smell the faint scent of his cologne

His fingers slid deeper into my mouth stroking against my tongue slowly, My breathing become uneven instantly

“Look at you” he said mockingly. “Disobedient one second… obedient the next” I tried pulling my head away but he swung the whip across my skin one more time, I gasped as my body jerked forward from the sting.

“Ah- it hurts”

“You don’t move unless I allow it natty” Tears burned at the corners of my blindfolded eyes. “You’re trembling” He whispered to my ear calmly like this was one of the things he does for fun, torturing people

“You were acting all though and brave earlier where did all that attitude go?”

I couldn’t even respond because his fingers was still on my mouth, he chuckled softly before putting the second finger in

“No” I whispered weakly; he tapped the whip once more on my thigh as a silent warning

“Open” I reluctantly did as he asked “There” he murmured approvingly. “Much better… such pretty lips and yet all it does is to argue with me”

I jerked backwards as his fingers pressed deeper; this punishment was slowly turning personal.

I tried turning my face away again, but before I could move further, the whip slipped from his hand entirely and to the floor as his second hand gripped my waist, I tried pulling away but then he groaned into the crook of my neck.

“Don’t”

His grip on my waist tightened even more when he felt me trembling, he increased his pace in my mouth and that somehow made my knees weak, every breath I took sounded shaky. Every small sound I made seemed to encourage him further

“Good girl” He muttered

He let out a low shaky breath before moving his hand from my waist to my throat, not choking, just resting there firmly enough to remind me how easily he could overpower me if he wanted to

“You like being difficult… you enjoy seeing how far you can push me before I snap, don’t you”

“I don’t_”

His fingers pushed deeper into my mouth again, cutting my words off

“Lying now too? You should be grateful…. Most people don’t survive disappointing and disobeying me”

He slowly pulled his fingers away from my mouth, I swallowed hard, trying to steady my breathing, but his hand remained firmly on my waist holding me against himself like he wasn’t ready to let go yet

Then finally he spoke up “You’ve learnt your lesson”

It wasn’t a question, so I just stayed quiet, his hand slid away from my neck slowly as I heard him pick up the whip from the floor before stepping away from me entirely

“Remove the blindfold” With trembling hands, I did as he instructed, when my vision finally adjusted, he was already seated at his chair staring at me with a cold gaze.

He stared for a long while before speaking

“Leave… your punishment is over” he paused calmly before completing what he had to say “Don’t make me regret stopping”

Natalie's POV Lucien looked down at me, his hands still resting on my shoulders."Natalie?"The moment I met his eyes, everything I'd been holding inside me finally broke.I threw my arms around his neck and buried my face against his chest. The tears came before I could stop them, spilling down my cheeks as the weight of everything I'd endured settled over me.I cried for the fear, the lies, the nights I'd spent wondering whether I would ever escape the nightmare that had become my life. I cried for the person I'd been before all of this happened, and I cried because, despite everything, I was still standing and Lucien held me tighter."It's okay, Natalie," he whispered, stroking my hair. "I've got you. You're safe now."I shook my head against his chest, unable to find the words I needed. "It's over," he murmured. "You don't have to fight anymore."For so long, I'd forced myself to be strong. I'd swallowed my fear, hidden my pain, and kept moving because stopping had never felt lik

Natalie's POV The woman standing before him didn't flinch. She looked at him with an expression I couldn't quite decipher, but there was no fear in her eyes. No hesitation. Only the quiet fury of someone who had waited far too long for this moment.Several guests turned toward the noise. Others exchanged confused looks, their attention shifting between the older man and the woman who had somehow managed to unsettle him with a single word.Elena. Lucien's mother. The woman Mr. Moretti had made Lucien believe was gone forever.I looked toward Lucien. He was staring at her, his face drained of color. His lips parted, but no sound came out. He looked as though the ground beneath him had disappeared without warning."Mother?" he whispered.Elena turned toward him… the hard expression on her face softened as she turned to him "Lucien."He took one step forward, but Mr. Moretti moved abruptly, placing himself between them."What are you doing here?" he demanded.Elena let out a short, humor

  • THE MAFIA OBSESSION    CHAPTER 119 - REINCARNATIONS

Natalie's POVThe room went silent. Every conversation stopped as the guests turned toward Mr. Moretti, their curiosity evident in the expectant faces surrounding the platform. Even the musicians had lowered their instruments, leaving the hall unusually quiet.Mr. Moretti took a final sip of wine before setting his glass on a nearby table. He adjusted his grip on his walking stick and made his way toward the front.Aiden's fingers remained intertwined with mine…I glanced at him, but his attention was fixed on the older man. There was something unsettling about the faint smile on his face, as though he already knew how the evening would unfold.I turned back toward the platform expecting the announcement to get started immediately “Today is a very important day for me,” Mr. Moretti began. “Over the years, I've worked hard to build this family and establish everything we have. I've made sacrifices, faced challenges, and learned some difficult lessons along the way.” Several guests nodd

  • THE MAFIA OBSESSION    CHAPTER 118 - GET TOGETHER

Natalie's POV“Natalie?”Lucien's voice barely reached me above the music, but I heard it. I wanted to answer him. There were a thousand things I wanted to tell him, and not one of them could be settled by standing across a crowded room staring at each other.I took a step in his direction but Aiden moved before I could take another. His arm slid around my waist, pulling me firmly against his side. His fingers settled against my hip as though he needed to remind everyone in the room exactly where I belonged, I stiffened trying to think of anything I could say if I got closer to him..“What are you doing?” I whispered.“Standing with my wife.”“I can see that. You don't have to hold me like I'm about to run away.”His smile remained fixed for the benefit of the watching guests “Then stop looking as though you're about to.”I looked up at him, irritation prickling beneath my skin. Across the room, Lucien was still watching us. His expression had changed, His gaze dropped briefly to Aide

  • THE MAFIA OBSESSION    CHAPTER 117 - PAINFUL REUNION

Natalie's POVI was standing in front of the mirror when Aiden walked into my room without knocking.I turned at the sound of the door, expecting him to tell me the car was ready. Instead, he stopped just inside and looked me over with an expression of exaggerated curiosity.“What's the occasion?”I stared at him, for several seconds, I genuinely wondered whether he had hit his head somewhere between his bedroom and mine.“Excuse me?”He glanced at my dress, then back at my face. “You look as though you're expecting someone important.”“Aiden.”“Yes, darling?”“Don't start.”“Start what?”I set down the lipstick I had been holding and faced him fully.“It's the day of the charity event. The event you've spent the last several days reminding me about. The event with all your precious rules. And now you're standing in my room asking me what the occasion is?”Then his lips twitched and he replied… “Oh, that.”I narrowed my eyes. “Are you trying to annoy me?”“Not intentionally.”“You're

Natalie's POVLater that afternoon, I found Aiden, I had made a decision. I wasn't going to argue with him today. Not because his apology had erased what he'd said, and certainly not because I had suddenly decided he deserved my trust. I simply couldn't afford to waste another day fighting over things that changed nothing. The charity event was approaching, and I needed to be prepared. Aiden stood near the windows in his study, examining something on his desk. I knocked lightly against the open door.He looked up with a smile spread across his face then he called out “Natalie.”“Are you ready for the event?”His expression shifted. “That's an interesting question.”“It's a straightforward one.”“Is it?” He put down the paper in his hand and turned to me fully “This morning, you were ready to tear my head off. Today, you're asking about our plans as though nothing happened.”“I don't remember saying nothing happened.”“Then what changed?”I stepped further into the room. “Must there al
