Chapter thirty two

Keirah turns her face to Luciano, who expects an answer, but she has a jealous look written all over.

And Luciano wonders. They just made their first civilized talk.

Where did he mess up?

They have arrived at the river and Keirah turns her back on Luciano as she joins James and Zia.

A setup for the fishing hooks is ready and James and Zia are sitting by the river when Keirah joins them.

James turns, studying Keirah who has joined them. “What is it? Something bothering you?”

Silent…

“Did he do something to you?” Zia enquires.

Silent…

“The silent treatment does not work on us; it works only on Luciano. We have ways to make sure we make you speak.”

Keirah is reminded of when she tried not to talk to them.

On the first day, Zia invited her to the kitchen. She tried using the silent treatment to punish them. But the two were worse.
