C1 – A DEMON
"Ezra, please! Don't hit me anymore!" Lucy begged, backing away with her hands raised, trying to shield herself.
But Ezra wasn't listening. His eyes blazed with a dark fury, his jaw clenched tight. Lucy knew that if she didn't act fast, things would get worse. So she bolted for the stairs. Her heart pounded as she took the steps two at a time, feeling him right behind her.
She made it to the bathroom, slammed the door shut, and turned the lock with trembling fingers. Leaning against the sink, she caught her reflection in the mirror—and what she saw made her flinch.
Her lip was swollen, red and throbbing from the slap Ezra had landed moments ago. He'd come home in a foul mood—nothing new there—and ordered her to strip.
"I need to unwind," he'd said. And though she hated being treated like a possession, she obeyed. But when, as usual, he couldn't get it up, the blame fell on her.
It was always her fault.
"YOU'RE SO USELESS YOU CAN'T EVEN GET ME HARD! THIS IS YOUR FAULT!"
The slap connected with her face, his ring splitting her lip. Lucy closed her eyes. She'd been living in this hell since the day they married. A heavy thud snapped her back to the present. Ezra was on the other side of the door.
"Open up, bitch!" he yelled from the hall.
Lucy pressed her hands to her mouth to stifle a sob. Another thud rattled the door, then another.
"No, please!" she whispered, tears streaming down her face. "Leave me alone, Ezra! I'm begging you!"
CRACK!
The wood splintered with a sharp noise.
She let out a strangled cry as she saw Ezra's hand punch through the gap he'd just made. The lock was flimsy—she knew that. So she threw herself against the door, pushing with all her weight, trying to hold it shut.
"Ezra, please!" she screamed, desperate. "Don't do this! Just leave me alone!"
From the other side, he pressed an eye to the broken wood. His gaze was cold, inhuman, and a cruel smile curled his lips.
"Now it's going to be worse," he said, his voice eerily calm. "For disobeying me, for failing as a wife—your punishment will be far more painful."
Lucy shook her head, trembling with fear.
"E-Ezra... please..."
The door finally gave way, and Ezra burst through like a raging bull. His eyes were bloodshot. Before she could react, he grabbed her by the hair and yanked her toward him.
"You thought you could hide from me? Huh?!" he snarled, shaking her hard. "You think you can avoid me?"
Lucy twisted, fighting to break free. Her nails dug into his arm, but he barely flinched. His grip was iron—like heenjoyedthe power he had over her.
"You're my wife!" he roared, spitting the words with contempt. "And you'll do what I say! That's what you're here for—to please me. And you can't even do that right!"
She sobbed, bracing for what was coming. But then, something shifted. Her fear sparked into a flicker of courage—of rage. And with every ounce of strength she had, she grabbed a marble figurine from the shelf and swung it. The object crashed into Ezra's head, splitting his scalp open. Blood started pouring down his face.
He staggered, and Lucy seized the moment. She wrenched herself free and bolted for the door.
"You're gonna pay for this, you bitch!" he bellowed from the floor.
Lucy ran, flying down the stairs two at a time. Her heart felt like it was about to explode out of her chest, and every step brought her closer to the front door—to freedom. This was her one shot. If Ezra recovered, he'd kill her. She was sure of it. But just as she was about to reach the door, a voice from behind made her freeze.
"And where do you think you're going, sweetheart?"
She turned slowly, her face pale. Ezra's murderous eyes made her tremble with terror. Blood was still dripping from the gash on his head, but he didn't seem to feel it.
"Look what you did to me," he said, advancing toward her with slow, deliberate steps. "To me... your husband!"
She backed away and, without thinking, ran toward the kitchen. Her hands scrambled desperately for something—anything—to defend herself. Her fingers closed around the butcher knife in the block. She grabbed it and spun to face him, pointing the blade at him.
"Stay back!" she screamed, her voice breaking.
He laughed.
"Seriously?" he said, still advancing. "You know you don't have the guts. You're weak, Lucy."
Rage shot through her like lightning.
"It's not my fault you're not a real man!" she shouted, fury pouring out—all the pain he'd made her suffer because of his pathetic inadequacy. "It's not my fault you can't get your dick hard!"
Ezra's eyes went dark. He lunged at her—but Lucy didn't hesitate. In one swift motion, she drove the knife into his thigh. He let out a gut-wrenching scream and dropped to his knees.
"You goddamn whore!" he growled, clutching his bloody leg.
She didn't stick around another second. She ran to the garage and jumped into the car—the keys were already in the ignition, as always. She gunned the engine and peeled out, not caring about the bodyguards outside who tried to stop her.
Her only goal was to escape that hell.
The car disappeared into the night, while Ezra screamed from the front of the house, clutching his bleeding leg. But she didn't look back. She couldn't. She wouldn't. Because for the first time in a very long time, she felt like she had a chance to live.
And to make that happen, she had to go to the only man who could protect her: her husband's brother.
**C100 – TWO WEEKS OF SILENCE.***Two weeks later.*The days had dragged on like a curse. Two weeks since Stefan left without a word. Two weeks of calls that were never answered, of messages left floating in the void. Camille checked her phone for the hundredth time and got the same result: nothing.Stefan's men—always present but distant—avoided her gaze, and none of them gave her answers. Just polite evasions that left her with more questions. Anxiety was consuming her from the inside, like a slow fire that wouldn't go out. Then she saw him. One of Stefan's most trusted men walked out of the study with certain documents under his arm—and Camille didn't think twice."Where is he?" Her voice came out louder than she intended—almost a shout. The man tensed and lowered his head as if he'd made a mistake."The boss is with his father, ma'am. With strict orders. No one is to disturb him."Camille blinked, as if the words didn't fit."What? But… how? Why?""I'm sorry, ma'am. That's all I c
**C99 – FIVE PREGNANCY TESTS.**The boutique was a hidden gem on one of the most elegant streets in Paris—wide display windows and delicate hanging lamps that softly illuminated every corner. Inside the fitting room, Camille stood in front of the mirror, wrapped in a wedding dress with a simple cut but a subtle, enchanting beauty. The lace hugged her figure, and the ivory tone enhanced the natural glow of her skin. For a moment, she didn't recognize herself. It was her… but different.Stronger. More alive. More in love."It looks beautiful on you, *mademoiselle* (miss)," the saleswoman said with a smile. "It's as if it were made for you. It brings out the best in you without effort."Camille smiled, a little flushed—her fingers sliding over the lace in a soft caress."Thank you… but I'd like to see other models too," she replied kindly. The woman nodded immediately."Of course. I'll go get them right now."As the saleswoman walked away, Camille looked at herself again. A month had pas
C98 — BLOOD, LOVE, AND TORMENTThe door flew open and Stefan filled the frame, soaked through, his dark clothes stuck to his body and stained red. He came in hard. His breathing was heavy.Camille froze, arms locked around her silk robe.“It’s not my blood,” he growled. She understood at once. The judge was dead. The news didn’t come in words. It came in the wild look in Stefan’s eyes, in the stains covering his hands. A bittersweet relief cut through her, then a shiver. He had done it for her, and that scared her almost as much as it turned her on.She swallowed. She knew what it meant. No one else would touch her.No one else would force her to smile, to endure, to pretend. But the man in front of her wasn’t only her savior. He was a monster. And he wanted her for himself. Before she could move, Stefan grabbed her by the waist, his bloodied fingers sinking into the white fabric.“No one else,” he snarled against her mouth before he devoured her. “No one else is gonna hurt you, beaut
**C97 – WAIT FOR ME AWAKE.**The warehouse smelled of rusted metal and cold sweat. The chains rattled with every jerk of the judge's body—muscles taut, tendons on the verge of snapping. Another electric shock tore through him, ripping a scream from his throat. The skin on his torso was raw, marked with red and black lines where the current had burned him.Stefan's footsteps echoed in the silence. The judge barely managed to lift his head—his vision blurred by pain—but he recognized the man's silhouette immediately: dark blue shirt, unbuttoned enough to reveal a dull gold chain, black pants impeccably cut, falling over Italian shoes.Everything about him exuded luxury, power… and calculated cruelty."Enough," Stefan ordered, without raising his voice. The man handling the wires stepped back instantly, as if his strings had been cut—leaving the judge breathing hard, mouth full of blood, chest rising and falling in spasms.Stefan approached, hands in his pockets, gaze cold."Do you like
**C96 – IT WAS HER.**The air in the safe room felt thicker with every passing minute.Lucy sat on the floor, her back against the wall, hugging her legs to her chest. She'd been like that for hours—biting her nails down to the flesh, shifting from one side to the other, tangling her fingers in her hair without realizing it. The security system's clock kept marking the seconds in silence.*Tick. Tick. Tick.*And Eros wasn't coming back. She knew where he'd gone. She'd watched him leave with that impenetrable expression—jaw tight, eyes dark as the bottom of a well. He was going to face Ezra…Her husband. Her past. Her mistake. She covered her face with her hands, feeling the weight of everything on her chest. There was pain. Fear. Guilt. But above all… there was that unbearable anguish of not knowing what had happened. What Ezra had done—and what Eros had been forced to do because of her. Because if she knew him, if she understood him the way she believed she did… Eros wasn't leaving t
**C95 – BACK TO HER.**Eros slammed him against the stone one more time and struck his face with all his strength—again and again. Ezra gasped, blood dripping from his lip, the laugh still vibrating in his chest. Eros had him trapped between the tombstones—his fists hot from the blows, his heart pounding with fury and anguish at the same time. But in a quick twist, Ezra shoved him with a grunt, threw him to the ground, and rolled toward where his gun had fallen."I'm going to fill your body with holes, brother!" He got up and aimed. "Give my regards to our parents!"Ezra smiled—covered in dirt, blood, and hatred—his fingers barely grazing the trigger—when a thunderclap cut through the air.Eros's shot was clean and precise. The bullet tore through his left shoulder, ripping a roar from him—the gun flew from his hands. He staggered backward, bleeding. He got to his feet, breathing hard, took two steps toward his brother—and the second shot hit his leg.Ezra screamed, falling to his kne
