"I'm… sorry for the way I acted earlier," Kael said, his voice low. The words came out stiff and awkward, because an apology was something he hardly ever gave.

Damien blinked, staring at his brother with genuine surprise in his eyes. "I forgive you," he said almost immediately, the words coming out without hesitation.

"Why did you have to attack him?" Lucian asked suddenly, his gaze locking onto Kael’s.

"I lost control," Kael admitted, disappointed by what he did.

"But he wasn’t the reason you lost control. You could have left him out of it!" Lucian snapped, his tone harsh and his eyes never leaving Kael’s.

"I know," Kael replied, calmer this time.

"There’s no need for this quarrel," Damien interjected, his voice firm but soothing. "He lost control, and I understand that."

"That doesn’t make it right for him to attack you," Lucian shot back, glaring daggers at Kael.

"I’m sorry," Kael said again, more times than he ever had before. It was unlike him, and they all knew it.

Damien leaned forward slightly, concern evident in his voice. "What really made you lose control like that? You’ve never acted this way before… not even when Mom died."

Kael’s chest tightened at the mention, but he shook his head. "Please, can we not talk about this?" he pleaded, his tone almost unrecognizable.

"Why not?" Lucian pressed, raising a brow.

"I just don’t want to talk about it again," Kael answered softly.

Lucian tilted his head, his voice dripping with suspicion. "Oh… so now you’re keeping secrets, huh?"

"Lucian, don’t," Damien warned, lightly tapping his brother’s hand to calm him.

"So… you’re taking his side after he hurt you?" Lucian challenged, his tone fierce.

"I’m not taking sides, Lucian," Damien replied, calm but firm. "I just need you to calm down."

Kael was desperate to shift the tension, so he spoke up. "Right… we’re doing the search today, aren’t we?"

"Yeah, but you haven’t prepared," Damien pointed out.

"Let me go prepare," Lucian said, quickly standing and leaving the room without another word.

Damien sighed, shaking his head. "You upset him. You know he has the most fragile heart out of the three of us."

"Yeah, I know," Kael admitted, regret flickering across his face. "I wish I hadn’t lost control like that."

"It must be something painful to put you so on edge," Damien said softly, careful not to press too hard.

"It is," Kael confessed. "And I’ll tell you when the time is right."

"That’s fine by me," Damien said with a nod.

Kael hesitated before asking, "How much does Dad trust his Beta?"

Damien stiffened. "I don’t know… and honestly, it’s none of my business." His words were fierce, his discomfort obvious.

"Okay," Kael muttered.

"Why are you asking?" Damien pressed.

"He’s been acting suspicious lately.” Kael replied, frowning.

"Whatever," Damien dismissed flatly. The mention of their father made his jaw tighten, because the man had already threatened his mate.

‘So no one else notices Dad’s Beta? How distant he’s been acting? Am I the only one paying attention?’ Kael thought, but he kept his suspicions to himself.

"What are you thinking about?" Damien asked, noticing his brother’s distant gaze.

"Just random thoughts about how we might find our mate," Kael lied smoothly, his expression unreadable.

"Can we go now?" Lucian said as he entered, dressed and ready.

"Oh, yeah," Damien replied.

"Shit, I forgot to prepare. You two go ahead, I’ll meet you in the study," Kael said, heading off for a quick shower.

"Okay," Damien agreed. He turned to Lucian with a small smile. "Come on, Lucy."

Lucian’s lips curved. "Finally, you called me by my nickname. That’s so good of you, Damy." He leaned closer playfully.

‘Thank goodness he’s back to his normal self,’ Damien thought with relief.

"Whatever," Damien muttered flatly, though the corner of his mouth twitched. He left the room, with Lucian following close behind.

Minutes later, Kael stepped out of the shower and into the walk-in closet. His eyes landed on a grey coat, a turtleneck, and matching trousers, perfect for the cold weather. He dressed quickly, pairing it with polished black boots. His wet hair clung to his forehead, making him look effortlessly striking.

He exhaled deeply, locking the door behind him before heading toward the study. But halfway down the hall, faint whispers caught his attention.

He moved towards where the whispers came from, and hid behind a corner.

"It’s shocking the Alphas forced you to leave before you could even try seducing them," an unfamiliar voice said. It belonged to Emily.

"I know, right?" Cassidy replied bitterly.

"Since they don’t seem interested, maybe next time I’ll slip something into their drink," Cassidy whispered, her tone dripping with malice.

Kael’s jaw clenched. So this was her plan all along.

"Wow, that’s a great idea. You should move quickly," Emily encouraged.

"If I get pregnant after a night with one of them, I could secure my place as their mate. And if not, I’ll fake it. The pack doctor gave me multivitamins. It should be easy," Cassidy revealed in a hushed voice.

Kael shook his head, disgust rolling through him. ‘She’s lower than I thought. Drugging them? Trapping them with a lie?’

Emily’s voice rose again. "Also, the Alphas are in their study. We could eavesdrop."

"Good idea. We’ll head there soon," Cassidy agreed, unaware Kael had overheard everything.

He slipped away quickly before they could notice him and approached the study.

When he entered, Lucian shot him a cold glare. "Why are you late? We already finished gathering the information we needed." His words dripped with disdain.

"Something came up," Kael replied, knowing it sounded more like an excuse.

"Something always comes up," Lucian muttered, rolling his eyes.

Trying to cover his tracks, Kael played along.

"We found out from the Alpha of the Silverfang Pack that our mate isn’t there," Damien reported. "But we haven’t heard back from the Blood Moon or Red Moon Crescent Packs."

Kael’s lips curled into a mocking smirk. "I don’t care about that mate of ours, the one who left us when we needed her most. Don’t bother reporting anything to me."

Damien’s eyes widened in shock. Lucian’s face darkened with fury.

"How dare you?!" Lucian roared, his voice echoing.

"I’ve realized my mistake," Kael said coldly. "That mistake was ever looking for her in the first place."

"Leave!" Damien thundered, pointing toward the door.

Kael didn’t argue. He turned and walked out, his plan working in silence. ‘They’ll hate me for now, but it’s necessary. Until I finish what I started, I have to keep them in the dark.’ he said to himself.

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   Messed up

"What?! Are you serious?" Emily said, her eyes widening in shock."Yes, I am. And why would I joke about something like that?" Cassidy responded."I hope you rejected him," Emily said, raising her brows."No, I didn’t. I was so shocked to even process anything," Cassidy replied."Did you go back to look for him after you processed everything?" Emily asked."Yes, I did, but he was already gone when I came back to check for him," Cassidy answered."Does anyone else know, or is it just me?" Emily asked another question."Only you know about this," Cassidy replied."Damn," Emily breathed, still stunned by all of this."I don't know what to do. I'm so confused," Cassidy said."I think you should tell your father since you're confused. He could help you reach out to him as far as you can still remember his looks," Emily advised."Thanks for the idea. I didn't even think of that," Cassidy appreciated."You're welcome," Emily acknowledged. "Do you still remember what he looks like?" she asked

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   Cassidy's mate

When they arrived at the restaurant, Cassidy couldn’t hide her surprise. It was the most elegant and expensive place in the entire pack.Kael was the first to step out of the car, followed by the others. Once everyone was out, he locked it and led the way toward the entrance.Inside, a waiter greeted them warmly. “Good morning, Alphas. Good morning, Ms. Cassidy,” he said with a polite bow.“Please follow me to the VIP section.”“Alright,” Kael replied on behalf of everyone, and the waiter led them toward the elevator that would take them to the top floor. When they reached the VIP section, they were shown to the best table, where they settled comfortably.“What would you like to have?” the waiter asked.“We’ll take steak and four bottles of vodka,” Damien replied for the group, and the waiter wrote the order down quickly.“Would you like dessert?” he asked next.“We’ll have—” Damien began, but Kael cut him off.“No dessert,” Kael said simply.Damien and Lucian exchanged a questioning g

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   Forced date

He discovered that the rogue had been sent by Xander, the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, under orders from Beta Aldric. After gathering all this information, Kael decided not to tell his father everything. Even if he did, his father wouldn’t believe him. While Kael was still figuring out how to tell his father, a maid knocked on the door of the study where he was.“Who’s there?” Kael asked, wondering who would disturb him after he’d clearly said he didn’t want to be disturbed.“It’s a maid, Alpha,” the maid announced.“What?” he asked flatly.“Your father summons you,” the maid said.“Okay,” Kael acknowledged, and the maid who was standing on the other side of the door left.Kael wondered why his father would send a maid to summon him when he could have simply used a mindlink. He stood up from his chair and left the study for his father’s quarters. Once Kael arrived there, he knoc

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   New job

I hated hangovers; they were the worst. Well, that served me right for drinking too much. I woke up late, and luckily it was Sunday and not a workday. My hair was a complete mess, and I smelled like alcohol. I knew I had to take a shower immediately.I got out of bed, took off the clothes I wore to the party, and tossed them into the laundry basket in my room. Then I went into the bathroom and took my time in the shower before finally stepping out after what felt like hours. When I was done, I went to the closet and picked out something simple to wear ; a black baggy shirt paired with blue baggy trousers. I removed the towel wrapped around my body and hair, hung it on the towel rail, then applied some body cream before putting on the clothes I’d chosen earlier, along with blue slippers. After finishing up, I dried my hair and applied some cream to it before leaving my room to prepare breakfast. But as soon as I reached the kitchen, the sweet smell of pancakes hit me, and there was Bla

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   Secret company

Kael still couldn’t believe he had seen his mate, and that he had even kissed her. The moment kept replaying in his mind. The anger that surged through him when he saw her grinding against another man still burned in his chest. He had wanted to rip the man apart, to tear him limb from limb, but he held himself back. He couldn’t risk scaring her. He’d seen the pain in her eyes when he walked away. He wished he could have stayed longer, just a little more time to hold her, but he couldn’t. He had to return to the pack before anyone grew suspicious. The last thing he needed was to draw attention to himself, not when things were already tense. When Kael got back from seeing his mate, he ended up killing a few rogues who had tried to attack the pack borders, leaving their lifeless bodies behind. He made a mental note to tell his father about it later in the day.The moment Kael realized he smelled like his mate, he quickly masked her scent. He couldn’t afford anyone picking up on it.Now t

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   A kiss

“I… will do it,” I agreed nervously and went over to Blake’s side, sitting on his lap. I wasn’t even wearing any panties, so I was sure he could feel it. I hadn’t even started rocking him yet, and he was already hard, his dick poking against my thighs. After a minute of sitting still, I began moving slowly, rocking him, and he kept getting harder through his pants. When I was done, I stood up, leaving him painfully hard. His face was red, veins popped along his neck, and his jaw was clenched tight. “Way to go, Becky, you left him hard,” Abby said with a smirk curling on her lips. I so badly wanted to wipe it off. This game was getting too intense, and I had to ask if we could end it or play something else because I didn’t want to be asked anything so bold again. “Could we play another game?” I asked. “No way, Becky. We’ll only stop when we’re drunk or tipsy,” Lily announced, and I knew I had to brace myself and hope it didn’t point at me again. A few minutes passed, and luckily, i
