Erica's POV.

I gripped the pouch of berries so tightly my knuckles ached. “I think you’ve mistaken me for someone else.”

“Oh no.” Her laugh was low, almost mischievous. “You’re exactly who I think you are.” She came closer, and the scent of dried herbs clung to her clothes, mixed with something sharper—like rain about to break. “And I’ve been waiting for you for a very long time.”

I stepped back, but the hem of my shoe snagged on a root, and I almost toppled into the creek. She didn’t move to catch me—she just watched, with one brow raised, and an amused face.

“You’re jumpy,” she said.

“I’m—careful,” I muttered.

She chuckled, as if I’d said something clever. “That’s one word for it.”

Her eyes glowed faintly in the dying light, the same strange way they had in Rowen’s study. I couldn’t decide if it made her look beautiful or dangerous—or both.

“You…you’re the seer,” I whispered.

“Thalia,” she said simply, dipping her head in a little bow like I was someone worth introducing herself to

The Triplet Alphas (Ronald’s POV).The cabin smelled like old wood and forgotten rain. The kind that never really leaves no matter how many windows you open or how many candles you light. Not that I could open the windows anyway—Mother’s hired witch's spell had sealed the place tight.I’d stopped counting the days a while ago. At first, I made little marks on the wall with a piece of charcoal I found near the fireplace. One, two, three… after fourteen, it didn’t matter anymore. The only thing that kept changing was the bread. There was a tray by the window with a pile of stale slices that looked like they’d been there since time began. I didn’t have the heart—or appetite—to touch them. Every time I looked at them, my stomach twisted, but not from hunger, just from the reminder that I was still here. Still locked away like some dark secret nobody wanted to admit existed.I leaned back against the wall, staring at the ceiling. There was a tiny crack that ran right through the middle of

The Triplets Alphas ( Reynold's POV).I always stood by and watched, as they hurt her, insulted her and treated her like she was nothing but a piece of dirt …But then, this? This was worse than I thought, how could he even agree to this?!I found my hand wrapping around the metal door knob, it's coldness biting into the skin of my palm before ripping it off, allowing the door to open by itself.I stared at him, anger bubbling inside me, he was being inconsiderate, cruel and very much like father! Yet he was calm, very still like the tip of an iceberg floating quietly on the ocean surface. He stared at the sky clothed with hues of orange and pink as he sipped his glass of bourbon like he was observing the world and didn't want to be disturbed.“Brother, oh my brother, if it's not the temper…I can feel the heat of your anger from where I stand, and I can swear you'd go up in flames sooner than later.” He chuckled, sipping his bourbon before his eyes slided towards my direction.“How co

Erica’s POV.Ethan’s fingers slid around my wrist, firm but not hurting, and before I even had time to blink he was tugging me toward the door.“Come on,” he muttered, almost under his breath.I didn’t move at first. My whole body felt glued to the floor, the bond still buzzing under my skin. Then Rowen’s growl rolled across the room like thunder and it jolted me forward. Ethan’s grip tightened just enough to guide me and the next thing I knew the door slammed shut behind us, the echo ringing down the hallway. We were moving fast. My worn out shoes scraped against the marble floor as he pulled me along the corridor. His strides were long and even while mine were messy and stumbling. I kept looking over my shoulder, half expecting Rowen to come after us.“Slow down!” I hissed, finally yanking at his hand. “I’m not some kid you can just drag out of detention.”He stopped so suddenly I bumped into his back. We were in a narrow hall, dim light spilling from a window at the end. His should

Erica’s POV.For a moment, the whole room froze. The only sound was the faint scratching of my heartbeat against my ribs, like it was trying to claw its way out of me.Rowen’s eyes burned into me, cold and sharp, but my attention had already shifted. Because standing just a few feet away was someone I hadn’t expected. Someone who wasn’t supposed to matter to me—at least not like this.Ethan.Beta Ethan. Rowen’s brother.“You’re not going to lay a finger on her,” he said again, his voice steady but carrying something underneath it. Something final.I almost laughed, and maybe I would’ve if my chest wasn’t so tight. Of course it would be him. Of course the universe had to throw Rowen’s brother right into the middle of this disaster. As if my life wasn’t already tangled enough.Rowen’s head turned slowly, his jaw tight. “Ethan,” he said, his voice like ice cracking over a river. “Leave. Now.”But Ethan didn’t move. Didn’t even blink. He shut the door behind him with one smooth motion and

Erica’s POV.Denise’s voice still hung in the air when she pushed the door wider and stepped in. Her eyes were locked on me like I’d done something wrong just by breathing. The kind of look that could peel the skin off your bones.“Natasha.” She said my name again, slower this time.I froze, my fingers still wet from the broccoli I’d just rinsed. Everyone else lowered their heads, suddenly interested in their chopping boards or their bowls, like if they looked busy enough Denise wouldn’t notice them.I thought she would say something else. Maybe ask me to follow her. Maybe ask me about the meals. But she didn’t. Instead, she crossed the room in three fast steps, and before I even had the chance to flinch, her hand was in my hair. The sharp yank made my scalp sting, and a small sound escaped my lips. Not a scream—just the kind of noise you make when pain surprises you.“You think you’re clever, don’t you?” she spat, dragging me toward the door. My legs stumbled, but I tried to keep up
