As the dancing and celebration was going on, Seraphina sat in a quiet corner. She could sense that this unity was about to be put to test. She remembered how she had come to know about her powers and her involvement in the prophecy.

Seraphina had sat at the edge of the stream. She was barely 25, an Omega of the DarkMoon pack. She always loved coming to the stream. There was a kind of peace it gave her. It was very cold, almost snowing but she didn't mind. She just sat there listening. The water had always spoken to her. Today it whispered warnings, names, places, and secrets. It whispered something terrifying.

“You have been chosen to protect the child,” it said.

“The child who will end the war and save what’s left of all the clans. The child must live, or all will fall.”

Seraphina blinked, as she was surprised to hear this. She didn't know what child it spoke of. She wasn’t even high-ranking or respected. She was an Omega. Lowest rank in her pack. Constantly overlooked. And yet the

“Elora,” Lyon called, opening their connection.“Yes, Lyon, I can hear you,” she said.“I feel like stepping outside for a bit, care to join me?”“Sure, where? Elora asked.“Meet me in the garden.”The felt long and heavy for Lyon and he just needed to share his thoughts with someone. To at least lighten his mood.Elora had deep thoughts as well, and she thought it would be best if she spoke to Lyon about her feelings.“Lyon…” Elora said, in a small voice.“After the discussion earlier today with Seraphina, I've been doing some thinking and you know that ritual to awaken my powers didn't seem to go so well.”“Did you find anything new?” Lyon turned to face her, his gaze full of concern. Elora paused for a few seconds, like she was thinking if she should say anything.“What’s going on in that mind of yours, Elora?” Lyon asked in a very gentle voice.“I…I've of late been having this strong connection to something deeper and ancient. I couldn't really place what it was, until Seraphina

  • THE PURE ALPHA    Now I Understand

Lyon stood in the room. Long after the meeting of the council ended. Everything that had taken place at the council meeting was still fresh in his mind. His mother, Isabella, and Seraphina stood by him, both waiting for him to act, but Lyon knew what had to be done.Seraphinas presence had given him hope that there was still a chance to fix what had been broken. Lyon couldn’t control the curse on his own, and the weight of that truth settled heavily on him.Just as they were discussing, preparing for whatever came next, Elora’s voice broke through the heavy silence.“I need to understand how I fit into all of this,” Elora asked, her voice calm but firm. “I can’t just stand here anymore, Lyon. What’s happening to you is not just a curse, it's consuming you.”Lyon only gave her an understanding look.“I honestly don't know how long all this is going to last and I don't even think I can save myself,” Lyon said as he looked at her. He could feel the powers shifting inside of him barely co

“Lyon, what's on your mind?” Seraphina asked. They all could feel the tension in the room. The air itself smelt of betrayal and Lyon was having none of it.Seraphina stood by his side and that act of hers gave him clarity in the midst of all the chaos.“What is it you’re hiding, Gareth?” Lyon’s voice was low and filled with command. A voice deserving of an Alpha like him. These were his people. The same people he had sacrificed his everything for and he wasn't going to let anyone cause division among them.Gareth smiled in a twisted kind of way.“What makes you think that I'm hiding something, Lyon? I’m not hiding anything, I just don't want the kingdom falling apart.”The other members of the council in the room looked at each other. And you could sense the unease in their looks, but Lyons wasn't bothered by it. His gaze never left Gareth's face He had known him for years, respected him, and relied on him for counsel. But this? This was pure and total betrayal and he wasn't going

  • THE PURE ALPHA    You have to embrace it

The morning after the council’s tense meeting, the palace was still reeling from the division that had taken root among the factions. The fact that Lyon had lost control of his powers was becoming a big issue but he knew that he had to do one thing: find a way to end the curse that came with his powers as the Pure Alpha. As he walked through the gardens that morning, his face down cast as the weight of everything seemed to be on him. His father's death, Gareth's betrayal and the curse. Now the people see him as someone who isn't capable of leading them.“Lyon,” he heard Isabella's gentle voice. “We need to talk.”Lyon only gave her a nod. “Come son,” she said, gesturing for him to sit down beside her.“I know who can help you understand this,” she said to him as he sat down.Lyon sat up immediately as he heard Isabella say that he could be helped. His eyes lit up with hope.“Who could that be?” he asked.Isabella couldn't help smiling.“Seraphina.”That was when it occurred to Lyon

  • THE PURE ALPHA    Stop this Division

Lyon was in pain as he looked around the ruined courtyard. He couldn't believe he had caused such a level of destruction. His powers that had been a source of strength and brought about absolute peace to the kingdom were now a threat that consumed him and everything in its path. Elora stood beside him, fear and concern on her face. She had been there when the power had surged through Lyon and he had almost destroyed everything, she hadn't been left out of it.“Lyon,” Elora said.“This curse, and all that it stands for, isn't supposed to make you lose yourself. You have fought battles that were beyond this.”Lyon didn't say anything. He just stared at nothing in particular. The power was still threatening to burst out of him. He was in a confused state at the moment. And he didn't understand what was happening and why no one had known about the curse until now.“I… I wish I could explain it,” he said. “It's almost as if I can't control myself. Everything is just turning upside down,”

  • THE PURE ALPHA    The Curse is Alive

Lyon could feel the tension around him and he sensed something was about to happen. But deep within him he could also feel the dark side of his powers trying to break free. Ever since he had discovered the answers to his questions, he was always on the edge trying to keep himself in check but it seemed to be making it even worse.Tonight the moon was full and under its light, Lyon felt too powerful like he was beginning to understand how powerful he was for the very first time.“You own the world,” he could hear a soft dark voice speaking in his head.“No man can wield the power that you have, you are a god.”Lyon shook his head trying to shake the thoughts out of his head.It was the curse stirring, whispering in the back of his mind.“Elora?” He called, more like a question. He remembered how for weeks now she had been warning him of a coming darkness and Lyon wondered if it was going to come from him.He could feel the usual power rush only this time it was different, more like he
