W… what are you saying?” Kevin stuttered and tried to grab my arm again but I was quick to move away.

Ignoring the women who had formed a group and started mumbling, I grabbed my bag, and then turned out of the space.

“Lyra, wait!” Kevin rushed after me.

Ignoring the look from the people who stopped to look at me in my crazily half-torn wedding dress, I entered the elevator and before it closed, Kevin rushed in and I pressed the button to the basement.

“What is going on? Did I do something wrong? Talk to me!”

But I didn't answer him. I kept staring at the blank space while he groaned in frustration coupled with confusion.

He had probably not seen this coming.

If I had gone with the flow, we were supposed to have a dinner date after the dress fitting.

“God, Lyra, talk to me. Do you want me to kneel?” he asked and then knelt.

At that moment, the door dinged open and I hissed, “Pathetic.”
