Mason's POV

I watched them walk into my trap.

From my perch high in the trees, I observed every move Sera Ashford and her loyal Beta made. They studied the map I had given them, their heads bent together, whispering. They were cautious. Suspicious. But they were also desperate.

Desperate people were easy to manipulate.

I smiled, my fingers drumming against the rough bark. The Ash Council had been hunting Phoenix Wolves for centuries, but they had never been smart enough to catch one alive.

  • THE REJECTED LUNA’S RISE    The Taste of Fire

Mason's POV The outpost reeked of old stone and older magic, the kind that settled at the back of the throat and refused to leave, no matter how often you swallowed. But I hadn’t waited for an invitation. The Council Leader believed I was handling business in Shadow territory before returning to collect my half of our bargain. Let the old bastard believe it. A man who announces his every move deserves to be robbed blind by the ones patient enough to watch him from the dark. Long before the guards brought her in, I’d claimed a narrow alcove carved into the wall above the circular chamber. From there, I overlooked the black relic pulsing in the center of the room like the heart of something long dead. I’d hidden here once before, memorizing patrol routes during my last visit. Tonight, I had another reason to watch. They dragged her in at last. Her wrists were still bound, her steps uneven as two guards dressed in ash-colored robes forced her forward. She looked exhau

  • THE REJECTED LUNA’S RISE    The Drained Room

Sera’s POV The first thing I felt was cold stone against my cheek. The second was the terrifying absence of my fire. I forced my eyes open. Gray stone walls stared back, lit only by a few flickering torches. When I tried to move, a heavy, metallic pressure clamped down on my wrists. I was bound to the wall, my arms pinned above my head. The metal hummed faintly against my skin, making my stomach turn. Silver, but not quite. It felt older. Stronger. Built to hold more than flesh. Lira? I called out in my mind, desperate for a bond-mate who wasn’t there. Silence answered me. Not a comforting, quiet silence, but a hollow, dead emptiness. I threw my weight forward, pulling hard against the bindings. I gasped as pain lanced up both arms. Whatever these chains were made of, they weren’t just restraining my body. They were pressing against something deeper, something that lived under my skin. "Do not waste your strength," a rasped voice echoed from the shadows. My he

  • THE REJECTED LUNA’S RISE    What the Blood Remembers

Lupus's POV The water tasted wrong. I noticed the difference before I fully understood why. There was a faint bitterness underneath the sweetness, subtle enough that a distracted man would have missed it completely. But I was not distracted anymore. I set the glass back down on the table without taking a sip. Angela did not notice. She was already facing the mirror, adjusting an earring and humming a low, satisfied tune. I watched her reflection in the glass, keeping my own expression completely blank. She has been feeding it to you for weeks, Kain whispered. Every single night. A little more each time. "I know," I murmured under my breath. You do not know. You are only just beginning to realize. He was right. Whenever I tried to reach for my instincts, I could feel a heavy fog. A thick, sluggish weight clung to the edge of every thought, a darkness that had not been there before Sera. Before I threw away the only good thing in my life. The memory of the night Sera w

I smiled, my fingers drumming against the rough bark. The Ash Council had been hunting Phoenix Wolves for centuries, but they had never been smart enough to catch one alive. They killed them. Drained them. Left nothing but ash. But I was smarter than the Ash Council. I had been watching Sera for months. I had studied her habits, her weaknesses, her pain. She was strong, yes. But she was also broken. And broken people made mistakes. The Council's stronghold was cold and damp, the walls lined with ancient relics that hummed with stolen power. I walked through the corridors with the confidence of a man who owned the place. The guards stepped aside as I passed. They k

  • THE REJECTED LUNA’S RISE    The Fire Meets the Shadow

Sera's POVMason stepped fully into the moonlight, his smirk wide and arrogant. He was taller than I remembered, broader too. His dark hair was slicked back, and his eyes gleamed with a hunger that made my skin crawl.I had seen him once before, at a pack gathering months ago. He had tried to charm me then, but I had seen the cold calculation behind his smile. The same calculation I saw now."Sera Ashford," he said, his voice dripping with false warmth. "What a pleasure to see you again."I felt the fire stir beneath my skin. "Mason. I should have known you would be lurking in the shadows like the coward you are."His smirk faltered for just a moment. Then it returned, wider than before."Careful, little wolf. I came here to offer you a gift.""I do not want anything from you.""Not even information about the Ash Council hunting you?"I froze. Daniel stepped closer to me, his hand resting on his blade."What do you know about them?" I demanded.Mason chuckled. "I know everything. Thei

  • THE REJECTED LUNA’S RISE    The Weight of Silence

Daniel's POV I had loved her in silence for years. It started when we were children, running through the forests of Dominion, chasing rabbits and pretending we were warriors. She was always faster than me, always braver. She would climb the tallest trees and dare me to follow, and I always did. I would have followed her anywhere. Back then she was just Sera, the omega's daughter with the bright smile and the wild heart. No one paid her much attention. No one saw what I saw. I saw everything. The way her eyes lit up when she laughed. The way she cared for the injured wolves in the pack, even when they mocked her for being lowborn. The way she never gave up, even when the world kept trying to break her. And I saw the way she looked at Lupus. That was the hardest part. Watching her fall for my best friend. Watching him take her for granted. Watching her give him everything while he handed her nothing but scraps. I could have told her. I should have told her. But I was a coward. I
