A MOTHER’S TRUTH

Rowan’s POV

Ivy’s pale face as she clutched her stomach haunted me, her doctor’s warning—reduce stress or lose the baby—ringing in my ears.

The video of Bella and Maddox plotting to “end” us, the leaked designs, Gabe’s photo with Noah—it all fueled my rage as I sped toward her adoptive mother’s house, determined to uncover the truth about the Kelly family.

Ivy sat beside me, her hand gripping mine, her green eyes shadowed with fear. Noah was in the backseat, his small hands clutching his dinosaur toy, oblivious to the storm brewing.

I’d end this chaos before it claimed her, our baby, or our son. My gun rested in my holster, a cold reminder of the stakes.

“We’re getting answers,” I said, my voice low, squeezing Ivy’s hand. Her ring glinted, a promise I’d fight for. “Your mom’s hiding something, and I’m done with secrets.”

Ivy nodded, her jaw tight. “She hung up on me,” she said, her voice trembling. “She knows about my real parents, Rowan. Why won’t she tell

CRASH AND CONFRONTATION Ivy’s POV The world spun as our car skidded off the road. The crunch of metal echoed, Noah’s scream piercing my heart as I clutched my stomach, fear for our unborn baby choking me. Rowan’s arm shot across me, shielding us, his gray eyes blazing with rage as he swerved to avoid another hit. Maddox’s car sped off, vanishing into the L.A. night. “Ivy, Noah, you okay?” Rowan barked, his voice rough, kicking open his door. He yanked mine open, pulling me out, his hands steady despite the blood on his bandaged arm. Noah scrambled into my arms, sobbing, and I held him tight, my heart pounding. “We’re fine,” I said, my voice shaking, checking Noah for injuries. “He tried to kill us, Rowan!” My eyes burned, rage and fear crashing together as I glared at the empty road where Maddox fled. Rowan’s jaw clenched, his hand gripping my shoulder, his touch grounding me. “He’s not getting away,” he growled, pulling us behind the car as sirens wailed in the distance. “I

TANGLED LIES Ivy’s POV Rowan’s phone screen glowed in the dim bedroom, the grainy footage showing Bella’s cold smile as she leaned toward Maddox, whispering, “The Kelly inheritance is ours once she is gone.” My heart pounded, the warmth of Rowan’s arms from our heated night together fading against the icy fear gripping me. Noah slept down the hall, innocent in his bed, while our unborn baby stirred inside me. Bella’s voice from the hospital intercom, Gabe’s photo with Noah, Maddox’s armed men—it all crashed together, threatening the family we were fighting for. Rowan’s hand gripped mine, his gray eyes blazing as the video looped. “They’re after your inheritance,” he said, his voice low, rough with rage. He pulled me closer, his breath hot on my neck, the memory of his lips on my skin last night still lingering. “I won’t let them touch you, Ivy.” I nodded, my throat tight, my hand brushing my stomach. “The Kelly inheritance,” I whispered, the photo of my real mother flashing i

SWEET LOVE Rowan’s POV Without another word, I pulled her down into my bed as I knelt above her, staring down as my breath tightened in my chest. Her lips were swollen from our kiss. Her cheeks flushed, eyes a little glassy. She looked like sin wrapped in silk, lying there in my bed like she belonged nowhere else. “Ivy…” My voice came out hoarse. I brushed her hair from her face, fingers trembling. “Are you sure? After everything tonight—your stomach—” “I’m fine.” Her voice was soft, but firm. “The pain’s gone. It was just tension. Stress. The baby’s okay.” I hesitated, my palm resting lightly on her bare stomach. The thought of hurting her—or our child—made me cold. I couldn’t shake the image of her doubled over earlier. Couldn’t forget the sharp panic that clawed at my gut. But then she cupped my face, pulling me closer until our foreheads touched. “Stop holding back, Rowan,” she whispered. “Please. I'm not some fragile vessel.” Her words unraveled something inside me. I

THE COST OF TRUST Rowan’s POV The photo of Noah and Gabe burned in my hand, betrayal cutting deeper than the bullet graze on my arm, still throbbing under Ivy’s bandage. The image—dated yesterday, Noah’s trusting smile next to Gabe’s, felt like a knife, twisting with the memory of Maddox’s note: “Surrender Douglas Enterprises or Noah pays.” The mansion’s alarms had just silenced, the police clearing out after Maddox’s men fled, but the threat lingered, heavy as the gun in my holster. Ivy stood frozen, her green eyes wide with rage and fear, clutching Noah’s backpack. My heart pounded—Gabe, Bella, Maddox—they were closing in, and I’d be damned if they touched my family. “Noah,” I said, kneeling beside his bed keeping my voice soft despite the fury in my chest. “When did you see Uncle Gabe?” Noah’s eyes, so like mine, darted to the floor, his small hands twisting his dinosaur toy. “At school,” he mumbled, his voice barely audible. “Yesterday, after class. He said he was so

SIEGE AT DAWN Ivy’s POV The mansion’s alarms blared, my heart racing for my family. Maddox’s men were circling our home, armed, their vans caught on Rowan’s security feed just minutes ago, right after Bella’s chilling voice taunted us over the hospital intercom. I clutched Noah’s hand, his small body trembling against me, while Rowan’s gray eyes burned with fury, his gun drawn. The hospital had been a trap, and now Bella’s antics loomed over our family, threatening everything, our love, our future, our unborn child. “Get to the safe room!” Rowan barked, his voice sharp as he punched codes into the security panel, arming the mansion’s defenses. He grabbed my arm, his touch firm but warm, pulling me and Noah toward the fortified basement. Gunshots cracked outside, sharp and close, and I stifled a scream, my free hand on my mouth. “Rowan, they’re here!” I said, my voice shaking as we ran down the stairs, Noah’s sneakers squeaking on the polished floor. “How did they get so close
